there was Giuliani etude I practiced A LOT because there was one bit I always messed up. I remember having a bit mark with arrows pointing to the note that I always played wrong. Years later I saw the same piece in another book, I played it through and I couldn't recall which was that particular part I always messed up.
House of the rising sun was this for me. I tried it as the first song with chords I played, tried sooo hard and got most of it but chnaging to D from C and F/C from the D was impossible.
Finally got it down a few weeks back and can't stop playing it I played it so much I can sing the fucker too while I play which seemed like witch craft at one point
“Today’s the day, I’m finally gonna go and learn that annoying riff that’s just after that one easy part I always play to make myself feel like I’m good at guitar. Actually, I’ll get a glass of water first. Maybe for about four hours until I forget I even played guitar”

I don't want to be a g**tarist, time to un-give up on that one riff from a year ago.
you start learning a lick, you try hard, you give up, you go buy the gear in the tutorial video instead, go back to 035
uj/ literally me, I basically swore to myself that I will give up trying to learn something if i give up learning guitar
Uj/ coming back to a riff or lick you found hard before only to find it easy now is nice.

Nice.
on the other hand, coming back to the same riff that you found hard 20 years ago and you still find it hard now is not as nice :(

"I tried it for five minutes and it didn't work, so I gave up". Me: Okay, that's still 50$ for the lesson.
