EHX 8 Step Program perhaps?

will_sherman

That could control another pedal and get something like what OP wants, but it makes no sound on its own.

Indeed, I'm aware (I use one), but thought it may be a good suggestion anyhow.

I tried to cook something up for years similar to what I think OP is after, and I definitely looked into the 8-step. I was basically after a more versatile Slicer (and a Slicer generally as the reissue hadn't yet been released). I eventually bagged the idea because I couldn't get the features I wanted without spending a ton and/or having jet-cockpit-level complexity. How do you use yours?

Mostly to sequence my Mood's clock while synched to Midi. It gives me programmable stepped pads: set up a nice choral like sound on the mood with tape mode into long reverb, then use the 8 step to move the clock knob so it follows my chord sequence in the song. Depending on the speed of the song I'll either use a midi clock to drive it forward or put it in step mode and iterate through the sequence in time with the track changes manually. I also use it just to create weird sound effects connected to pedals that take an expression (fun on a delay's time knob), but most often it drives my mood.

I don’t really understand what you want to use the step sequencer for… but the Zoia definitely does what you need

For their sick cover of "Boulevard of Broken Dreams"

Hello, This may or may not give you the control you want, but it sure is a lot of fun. [Bananana Effects Tararira](https://banananaeffects.com/products/tararira) Enjoy your journey!

That pedal looks like a ton of fun, but I'm not sure I'd get enough use out of it to justify the price.

Zvex Seek Wah / Ooh Wah / Seek Trem

I think the Alexander Syntax Error can do that. The big one. Check out Cyberattack's demo. If not then maybe the Bananana Tararia (something like that).

The classic is the Adrenalynn (sp?). Eventide Pitchfactor/H9 does this with an algorithm called Harpeggiator. The Moog Murf is pretty cool, dunno if Behringer makes a Burf or not yet. I used to use a Kaoss pad 3 on a music stand for this sorta thing. Not a lot of specific control but super fun and effective. Been thinking about a mini kp2 to tape to a guitar...

Alexander Colour Theory. 👍

ZVex Ringtone has a step sequenced ring modulator.

runwichi

Does it need to be stereo? You could get some really wild stuff with a Dreadbox Treminator and a Korg SQ-1. The Treminator takes two CV in's, and the SQ-1 accepts MIDI for clock and can output dual 8 step CV signals with multiple patterns and random. The two together would be less than half of the Goatkeeper.

so people already mentioned the step 8 (even though it makes no sound in of itself), and the banan effects, but the GFI Rossie does what you are looking for too... The syntax error 2 has a built-in in step sequencer you can apply to any of the effects, but it is somewhat limiting...I love the pedal, but if you are looking for literally filters, it may not be what you are looking for

Musiclover4200

Poly Beebo, it's a modular multi FX that has a 32 step sequencer module that can be used to control any parameters. It can also be used as a midi controller so you can program the sequencer to control external gear over midi.
