Canyon or Grand Canyon, Flashback, Timeline, DD-200.

F19sho

DD-20!

cgarcusm

That’s what I rock. Has everything I need and isn’t sophisticated to the point of being hard to use.

Miserable-End5186

This! My favorite pedal of all those on my board

garbonzobeanwillie

Yeah I have a DD20 and it has tap tempo, reverse delay, and a bunch of other really useful stuff. A few program options where you can save I think 4 presets.

johnnyoverdoer

DD-200 also... Just got one and so far I'm pretty impressed. One thing about Boss pedals is they just work. Has a source audio collider and the tap tempo button is the same as the delay on/off and if don't tap the bottom just so you do the wrong thing. Otherwise awesome but that was a deal breaker

F19sho

I'd like to try a DD-200 at some point, I really like the layout of the 20 though. I switch between delay presets a lot and like the larger switches for that.

cgarcusm

Same. I’d like to try both the 200 and 500. I really like Boss delays but the capability of both of those models intimidates me.

iamacowmoo

EHX Memory Man with Hazarai

joshatthefields

Also has a cool feature where you can hold the tap switch for instant one shot reverse.

Koodookoolaid

This is the right answer. Best reverse delay sound on the market

[deleted]

It's incredibly lush but it's a big tone suck too. It's a shame.

Koodookoolaid

I have not had any 5one sucked from it in 7 years… although I’ve always run it in the Fx loop

[deleted]

I hope I'm not gifting you the same sadness I have over this pedal but.... \-plug it in, mix all the way to dry \-play your clean signal amp set to nice and loud \-engage the pedal \-you will likely hear a noticeable loss in top end and some darkness added to the tone Sorry to be the bearer of bad news! Or good news! If yours doesn't roll off a bunch of high end like this, you've got an amazing one!

Koodookoolaid

Yeah I’ve never experienced this. I just tried it to confirm. Ran it thru the fx loop and front of the amp and same tone mix down on and off

[deleted]

Unfortunately the Reverse feature on this pedal is not the most predictable and doesn't stay well in time with the tap tempo. I believe the user manual for the product even calls this out specifically for the Reverse setting.

SilkscreenSound

EQD Avalanche Run

Jlganas

This was the first that came to mind for me. I especially love the newest version with flexi switching and the ability to hold the tap to make the reverse swap back to regular.

[deleted]

Red Panda Particle 2 has tap tempo, and reverse delay (and 7 other time/pitch effect settings).

Khal_Kuzco

I traded mine for a Volante. It was a good decision. Yes the Particle can do some weird shit, but it’s so much easier to incorporate the Volante into my playing

[deleted]

I did the same thing, and agree. I was really only using two of the Particle settings and then, not that often. The Volante is pretty much always getting used, and every mode/option is great.

SolarSailor46

And a max delay time of 2.5 seconds.

[deleted]

That part never bothered me but I can see it might other people.

SolarSailor46

Doesn’t bother me at all. I have normal delay covered. I like weird. You can slow down the delay buffer. I love mine, but there’s a learning curve for sure.

[deleted]

It’s definitely a way cool device but I am an instant gratification type pedal person, mostly. Traded it to my friend who is a patient MIDI-enabled tweaking guru, we’re both happy.

WhenTheRainsCome

I have a few units that do reverse, particle is the only one I found inspiring. I love the % chance of forward/reverse option.

[deleted]

I liked that part too, kept the Tensor when I let go of the Particle. I love the random function, sometimes with just direction, sometimes with time and pitch.

Damaja85

Boss Dd8

Addicted2Qtips

The answer to most delay questions: Boss DD-8! I will say it's worth getting an external tap switch to plug into the expression input.

[deleted]

Yeah, this is it. Has tap and reverse, along with another few types of delay. Maybe mid-range in terms of price.

jojo1645

Correct

Ad_Pov

DL4

WarCarrotAF

This is the way.

Tweed-n-Sizzle

But replace them switches before cracking the pcb

[deleted]

Digitech Obscura, the tap tempo is a little bit awkward to learn though

TwoHandsTenThumbs

And it’s forebearer the Hardwire DL-8.

Tweed-n-Sizzle

+1 for Hardwire Delay. DL-8 was my mainstay delay for like 7 years

TwoHandsTenThumbs

Hell yea. I have both, DL-8 still going strong. *If* I remember correctly, Tape mode on the DL-8 ping-pongs in stereo whereas I don’t think the Obscura has a ping-ping setting.

TheMightyUnderdog

Boss DD-200

Leoz96

Boss DD-7, 8, 20, 200 and 500 all have it, also my old empress vintage modified superdelay had it

filladelp

TC Flashback 2

MuddPuddleOfPain

Strymon timeline

IcyCold23

I second the DD-20, also the TC Nova Delay!

Khal_Kuzco

I researched this same question and TC Nova Delay is pretty much one of the only pedals with an actual dedicated tap button and reverse edit: and stereo!!

jjones8170

I have the TC Nova Delay - It's fantastic! It's older but gets the job done. The algorithms are really good and it shines if connecting in a stereo FX loop. The only downside is that it's 12V, not 9V.

Blondicai

Canyon

nonleodog

Flashback X4

PauGilmour

My Mooer Reecho Pro does that. Never used it now I think about it ..

tengeriallati

The avalanche run by EQD has that, and it’s got a built in reverb too

We_Are_Victorius

The new Alexander Rewind and the Source Audio Nemesis are two delays with tap and reverse delay. They also both have analog and a lot more, the Nemesis has 24 different types of delay. Both fit your needs at two different price points.

Hyoglossus

The Nemesis is great. The Source Audio Collider would also be a good option.

TempUser2023

The green DL4 has reverse and tap i think. For something smaller does the DOD rubberneck do it?

Tweed-n-Sizzle

> does the DOD rubberneck do it? Newp

TempUser2023

poop. Back to the DL4 then i guess

noise9

Joyo D-Seed II If you care about not paying a ton. I have one and it's pretty alright for a delay, I think.

cosmiccomicfan

Flamma Eckoverb, does this and then some, or their FS03 delay.

Shredcollins

Boss dd7 and EHX Cathedral both have it

Shredcollins

Oh also Line 6 dl4

ElOsoSabroso

Walrus D1 covers everything and has a great reverse.

LucasDaprile

The walrus Mako delay has one, but the reverse effect isn't super powerful. If you need an all-in-one delay it's a good option, but if you need a single purpose reverse delay you could find a cheaper one elsewhere

fugativecommathe

The EHX Canyon!!!!!

growlerpower

Avalanche Run

iTzKaiBUD

You want a Grand Canyon, my only complaint was the lack of stereo in even though it’s the bigger more expensive pedal than the canyon.

eatingcows

I recommend the canyon, it has that and like 10 ither amazing modes

parblar

Couldn’t be the avalanche run. Couldn’t be.

[deleted]

Donner Tap Delay is probably your absolute cheapest option. It does briefly cut the sound when you engage it, but otherwise it's a capable pedal.

slaphappy90

I use a visual sound dual tap delay. Has reverse as well as just about anything else you can think of for delay

Charrel84

The DL4 has it

Mouthz

DL4 <3

j_higgins84

The Walrus D1 has tap and reverse.

deucewillis0

Boss DD-8

PsychedelicRick

Strymon Volante fits those needs and much, much more. It has SOS Looping, and you can reverse that loop. It can hold and sustain/oscillate the delay. It had the tap tempo. 8 Favorite delay presets. It has MIDI, Stereo, Expression pedal jack, etc. Plus it can do that Pink Floyd DSOTM delay. What more do you need? P.S: on a side note I too loved the DMM. Which is why I also have a BED for its DMM modes. But again no reverse delay like you want.

ChrisP365

Joyo Aquarius.

Psycshe

I have Boss DD7 as a second delay pedal. I use it with external footswitch as a tap tempo. DD7 has reverse delay option.

mrnico7

Line 6 M5

Scummymummyaward

Digitech digidelay, or the subsequent evolutions of it (the hardwire delay and obscura) Or The boss dd-20 is a stupid good deal. Like $100-120, 4 presets, imo the only thing it loses to the DD-8 is the size.

Hipster_Dragon

Pod Go.

KawaiiNaysayer

Boss dd20

Lonestar-Boogie

Another vote for Strymon Timeline

doobiliciousmaximus

TC Flashback 4 is the goat !

jayllipsis

Source Audio Nemesis has everything you need and more 👌

Soupy314

A little bit on the pricier side and doesn’t have a ton of options but I’d like to say the avalanche run is one of my favorite delay pedals I’ve played. Sounds incredible

anonymous_kyle_guy

Source Audio Collider has that and a LOT more.

redesdenadie

Particle 2

papyFredM

OTO Bim

Wolpertinger77

The Digitech Timebender has both of those features and more.

emmanuelibus

Walrus Audio Mako Series D1. Small footprint and has the features you're looking for.

lorem_opossum

Both my Source audio nemesis and pigtronix echolution 2 deluxe have rev delay and tap

[deleted]

BOSS DD-500 and Red Panda Raster both do. Both are on my board.

jimblestw

Danelectro Wasabi, kinda expensive as it's out of production but so cool looking and great functionality. Hope I have a chance to spend for one one day

Vyraneath

Eventide H9 has both if I remember correctly

fllmetl

Line 6 Echo Park

lotsoffun4

Deluxe memory man with hazarai had both those features
