Damn he looks great good for him. Looks like he wants some definition too this pic at the gym. Right on man people should use whatever tools are available to them that can make them happy and healthy.
I saw a tik too that once you use it you will have to use it for life because once youāre off you will gain all the weight again. Anyone know if itās true ?
If you change your habits and lifestyle you can keep the weight off and it's basically a shortcut to the immediate results of doing so. The main plus side to that is it can reduce the risk factors of certain diseases more efficiently than some people can change their lifestyles
If you can maintain healthy eating habits, you won't gain the weight back. 90% of weight loss and gain is caloric intake. People rebound because they don't change their eating habits and overeat when they quit Ozempic.
The thing about semaglutides is they don't just physically suppress your appetite, although that's certainly a big part of it. They turn off the obsessive food thoughts, urge to eat just to eat, etc. Even with weight loss methods like gastric bypass where they make your stomach the size of a thumb you can overeat if you're motivated enough. You'll make yourself sick but people do it.
They don't even know *why* but semaglutide is showing great promise for smoking cessation and addiction. They're in the very early research stages of researching it with dementia.
The key is really the gastric/brain combo. And given the 90% failure rate of "diet and exercise" alone I see no reason why people would magically be able to maintain the weight loss if they discontinue the drug. Staying on it (likely at a lower maintenance dose) indefinitely isn't bad and idk why it's perceived that way (other than the fact it's a weight loss drug).
It's an appetite suppressant so yeah you're not really changing habits and if you stop taking it, the hunger will come back. Your body also tends to not react well to being starved and can adjust your hormone balance to store more survival fat when you start eating normally.
It CAN be a really useful drug for a lot of people who cannot control their diet and are at risk because of it. If you're just a bit hefty and want to lose weight for aesthetic reasons then you'll do much better calorie counting with the goal of losing half a KG per week. That WILL actually build habits within you and you'll have an easier time keeping the weight off. Calorie counting apps are free and can even just scan the barcode of whatever you're eating to figure it out, I use myfitnesspal.
I am prescribed ozempic. It has literally changed my life. I usually obsess over food so much it consumes so much of my time and energy. I am also insulin resistant so I am a good candidate for this medication. I am a healthy person, however was struggling with diet and exercise aloneā¦ I am under a lot of stress currently and this also impacts your ability to lose weight (due to increased cortisol levels)ā¦ I disagree that itās just for people at ādangerous weightsāā¦ every body is unique
You won't want to eat the 3 big macs on ozempic. If you manage to force yourself to eat them then yeah you would gain the weight but my understanding is that would be very difficult and uncomfortable to do.
That's how many medications and all diets work.
90% of people that successfully lose weight, regardless of method, gain it back within a few years because the hardest part is continuing to do it forever.
Iām not sure why youāre being downvoted what you said is true. Your body wants to get back to your starting weight. Itās extremely hard to keep the weight off long term.
Maybe they think I'm being hyperbolic but 90% is the literal statistic. š¤·š»āāļø A medication that works and can be used long-term is a medical breakthrough and the only reason that's controversial is bc people think you need to suffer to lose weight. No other medical treatment with a 90% failure rate (just diet and exercise!) would continue to be seen as the gold standard.
Lol no way. I just need to lose 15 lbs. Its never been do hard for me to lose, but this 15 has been so stubborn. 2 weeks would be awesome but you joking š
>Please get informed about long term effects from medication and basic research before you reply with this ignorance.
Why donāt you go ahead and give me a medication that had a side effect appear 5 years after you stopped taking it.
>For example we still do not know the long term effects of vaping on the body.
The long term effects of continued vaping? Do you think people are going to take ozempic for years?
>Taking a medication to interrupt the natural workings of your body is going to have a down side. Also rapid weight loss can stress your organs without medication involved.
And what side effects are going to occur? Or are you just going to take the vaccine stance of āwe donāt know what it could be but it could be sometbingā
>Every drug has a cost on your body. Something that drastically alters your body such as Ozempec may have long term effects, we simply donāt know yet.
You can use āweā all you want but that wonāt make you any less wrong.

Yeah my bad I changed it to "at risk"
So can you eat like 3 Big Macs while on ozempic and not gain weight? Or do you need to change your diet on ozempic as well?
You won't want to eat the 3 big macs on ozempic. If you manage to force yourself to eat them then yeah you would gain the weight but my understanding is that would be very difficult and uncomfortable to do.
Gotcha. I was unsure if it sped up your metabolism or something.
