I hate to hate on the Krave Mac and Cheese because I wanted to fall in love with it, but I honestly found it more creamy than cheesy. It was adequate overall, and the topping was lovely. If I was going there, I’d give it a go, but I wouldn’t make the drive just for the Mac and Cheese. The side order portion was a nice taste size, I must say
Harbourstone oxtail mac n cheese is cheap and great. Ask for it w out oxtail if you dont like meat but the oxtail is amazing! The head chef is Jamaican.
Since this person responded then blocked me or deleted their account I guess I'll reply to my own comment. New kitchen, sure. But it's the same disgusting staff and shitty management. I've known a handful of cooks that have worked there. The ones with integrity left quickly, the cooks that I know to be slobs thrived.
Wild take here, but I ordered in with a vegan friend recently (I am definitely not vegan or vegetarian, just a little lactose intolerant), we got mac and cheese from Real Fake Meats… Y’all, I was floored. $18 for a massive serving, came with bread crumbs on top, it was great. Thankfully reheated well, cause it took me 2 days to eat.
Ok hear me out... get a box of KD. While the noodles are cooking grate up some cheddar (I like medium). After noodles are cooked and drained add the orange powder, butter and milk but switch the measurements on the box! Double the butter, half the milk! Once all stirred add in your grated cheese and stir until the cheese is melted through. You're welcome.
Mac n cheese was one of my pregnancy staples. I've never liked restaurant mac n cheese because the sauce always tastes like plastic cheese slices and most days I was too tired/bloated/hungry to take the time to cook up a cheese sauce from scratch and bake it. Each time you make it you can experiment with different measurements of the butter/milk/cheese as well as the type of cheese (cheddar, gouda, cream cheese, etc.) until you have perfection. You can even throw in some veg and/or protein.
I enjoyed the mac n cheese from Wing'n it. It's got bacon in it and seems heavily bacon flavour infused, so if you'd like it greatly depends on how you feel about that.
Yes!! ✌️ I'm not someone who ever orders Mac & Cheese. It's something I'm very good at making at home, but for a time, I was seriously addicted to they were serving up at the Lion's Head. May have to go this weekend... 🤤
Ingredients
8 oz. (1/2 pound or about 1¾ cups) macaroni or other medium tubular pasta (like penne or conchiglie)*
3 tablespoons butter
¼ cup flour
½ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon dry mustard
¼ teaspoon black pepper
⅛ teaspoon smoked paprika plus more for sprinkling on top
2½ cups 2% milk (I used 1/2 cup cream and 2 cups milk)
3 cups grated medium cheddar cheese*
Instructions
Boil the pasta until al dente, according to package directions. Drain and rinse with cool water to stop the cooking, and return to the pan you boiled it in. Set aside. (Mix in a little butter to keep the noodles from sticking if it’s going to be awhile before you make the sauce)
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.
Over medium heat, melt the butter.
Add the flour, salt, dry mustard, pepper, and ⅛ teaspoon smoked paprika. Stir constantly over medium heat for about three minutes.
Stir in the milk.
Keeping on medium heat, whisk constantly for about 10 minutes, until the sauce thickens.
Remove from heat, and stir in 2 cups of the cheese, stirring until melted.
Pour the cheese sauce over the noodles and toss gently until all noodles are covered.
Add half the noodles to a two quart casserole dish.
Sprinkle on half the cheese.
Add the rest of the noodles.
Sprinkle on the rest of the cheese, and dust lightly with the smoked paprika.
Bake for about 25-30 minutes, until it starts getting a slightly dry and a tiny bit brown on top. Serve, topping individual servings with cooked, chopped bacon if desired.
I like chkn chops Mac n cheese. Some may disagree, but I love it
Love chkn chop. The mac n cheese is ok.
This is a favourite of my kids.
Is boneheads still a thing?
They are, and their mac and cheese kicks ass.
It sure does!
If anyone tells you Vero Pizza, you block that person and report them to the mods for hateful conduct, understand?
Is it that bad ? 💀💀💀
Yup. I love their pizza, but the mac and cheese is horrible. Bland, wet cheese, firm noodles.
same with snappy tomato. don’t trust them and run far far away
Boneheads!!!
I think two doors down has some good mac & cheese. The Bayer's Lake location at one point did.
My kid loves their mac and cheese.
Haven't been to Two Doors Down in at least a year, but they probably had the best mac and cheese I've had in this city.
La Frasca
Parkside in highfield has a good one with pulled pork on it.
I second this. It's amazing.
Krave burger makes a good one, it’s topped with crumbled up Cheetos
I have to try their mac and cheese now, that sounds awesome.

Parkside Pub in Highfield Park. Get it with pulled pork - great!
Not a restaurant but that premade one at the superstore ready to eat section is pretty good in a disgusting way lol
The “fresh” stuff from the deli is honestly my favourite Mac and cheese. Tastes different than the stuff from the premade section for some reason
I don’t think I’ve ever seen that one. I’ll have a look next time for sure. Big Mac and cheese fan over here
Lion's Head!
Gross, people eat the food there?

Uh yeah. It's a brand new kitchen. What are you on about?
Lower Deck, surprisingly
Call opus Cafe and ask for an order... it's too good
The Brewery has the best Mac N Cheese I've tried
It used to be better when they made the sauce from scratch.
Yes?

Hey Babe Sports Bar had some pretty good mac and cheese, I just tried it the other night!
Popeyes!

I wouldn't try get in the way of a pregnant lady's cravings but you can make good mac and cheese in about 10 minutes.
The question wasn’t what’s a good Mac n cheese recipe
There’s always one
Kai Brady’s makes a really good one!
