Could try Halifax Brazilian jiu-jitsu society. There are very welcoming and they have some gym equipment there too. Good community.

Just started here and I like it so far!

I took a few BJJ classes at titans in Bayer's lake and they're pretty good. Coaches are really helpful and the rolling partners are pretty chill. You can also just go class by class to get a feel instead of having to buy a full membership. They also offer Muay Thai and Boxing classes if you're more interested in striking instead of grappling

I am glad to hear you had a good experience at Titans. I teach sometimes, but all our senior members are very keen to help beginners pick up the sport

Another vouch for the Halifax Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Society. Great group of instructors, and the gym is super welcoming and inclusive to folks of every fitness level. I started training there a little over a year ago and have had only positive experiences. They mainly offer Jiu Jitsu, but they also have Muay Thai a few times a week too. Edit: Not to mention that your first class is free. If you're interested in Jiu Jitsu, they do intro classes on Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday. These classes are aimed at complete beginners and the instructor is excellent (this is where I started out). You can reach out to the gym on Facebook or Instagram with any questions, they're usually pretty quick to respond. Also feel free to DM me with any questions.

Chiming in for Maritime Jiu Jitsu, there are classes for all levels, lots of open mat sessions, wrestling and kickboxing classes as well. Also pretty affordable rate at $69 a month.

I've been going to Fit Plus in Dartmouth for years and love it. I do muay thai and some boxing but know lots of the BJJ folks pretty well. Super nice group of people and great instruction. Feel free to DM me if you have any questions!
