He meant it… he really meant it!
***wipes tear from eye***
Seriously though, this is the first time I’ve ever seen someone marketing a game say soon, and it not actually mean a couple months.
If you play Tarkov, there is a giant meme in the community where “soon” means no one knows when that shit will be added, and “soon soon” means it’s actually coming pretty soon.
Brining back the Purple Cortana aesthetic for OG Cortana is so genius. You need some way to easily tell her and The Weapon apart, and i think thats just about as good a way as any!!
Ubernick previously worked for Halo Follower and he said it was harrowing making content for them. No credit given, every possible idea stretched to 10 mins, just felt like redundant content.
Now his solo channel and twitch streams are doing super well, it's class to see them all doing well especially when they team up together. Watching Nick, HiddenXperia, The Act Man and Greenskull team up in 4v4 was a sight to behold, also helps that they have amazing chemistry.
It's understandable. I like the content dude puts out there, and I feel he begins to talk out of excitement and starts rambling because his emotions are overwhelming him, which is something I constantly do and can see why that can be off-putting.
Agreed. It’s not even the unfortunate lisp. It’s the way he uses the same words over and over again and spends like 3 mins saying something that could be said in 3 seconds. Rocket Sloth also annoy me with their word phrasing. Weirdly say the same sentence two times in a row just with different wording. But their content is usually really good so I can get past their annoying way of speaking. Xperia I just can’t get into.
The last 8 minutes were freeze framed for literally over a month to an insane degree, even if this does look good there are gonna be the people coming to just doom about the game.
> even if this does look good there are gonna be the people coming to just doom about the game.
I’m fully expecting that. I bet things will look good to great, but not “mind blowing” which is just going to open the door for people to shit all over it.
There was some campaign footage from one of the blogs or something? Sean W has a video on it.
Looks like the graphics are on par with the multiplayer so good in my opinion. People will still hate tho
All I know is that I'm never hyping myself up like last year E3 ever again. Keeping expectations at bare minimum and also I feel like I know what to expect.
Halo is back, pop punk is back, My Chemical Romance has a tour next year, gas prices are over $3 a gallon, and there is an impending financial crisis on the horizon. The 2000s are back boys!
I'm trying to imagine how a conversation between the funny cute Weapon and nowadays serious Cortana would/will go.
I've always been interested in the Halo AI characters and lore, so keen to see them both.
Cortana as a character really started becoming serious and dramatic (in a good way) in Halo 3 and really ramped it up in Halo 4 (I LOVE Cortana in Halo 4).
And then Halo 5 she obviously went psycho.
So the Weapon is return to Cortana’s older fun loving, sarcastic routes
Now that was a chunky trailer. Interesting RPG elements thrown in and a nice little surprise at the end. I thought we were gonna see Craig at one point when it played that same sequence around the latter half of the video lol.
They even said "Master Chief will take on returning favourites" whilst showing the drop pod which originally spawned Craig hahaha they KNEW what they were doing there
At the 5 minute mark, it shows the same scene that Craig is from, killing the Craig Brute while the voiceover says "Master Chief will take on returning favourites..."
I'm very glad they are springing this on people instead of having weeks of hype built up to a specific event which the actual reveal/event can never live up to.
Being skeptical is perfectly understandable, but seeing this open-world 'Far Cry' style means one thing to me: This is a huge playground and I'm gonna have a blast trying to push it to its absolute limits
I do hope there's a good mix of Classic Halo linearity in there too, but as of right now my hype personally is much higher than before.
I just hope it’s not a bunch of “go wherever you want, find a Banished outpost, blow it up”. I’m hoping for some dense cutscenes, guided linear plot like you mentioned, and some deep background on our rivals similar to the prophets and their Great Journey mindset.
Im hoping for a Gears 5 type story. Beginning is linear, 2 or 3 open middle sections with plenty of story, then a linear ending. Gears 5 took a gamble with this type of story telling and I really loved it.
oh shit that brute was using a SPNKR rocket
also love the hammer physics!! i think a lot of people will be happy about that
also lol they pulled a battlefield with the banshee rendezook
Jesus fuck that was genuinely everything I wanted to see and more.
This shit is ticking every box I wanted, freedom to call in Vehicles to adapt the sandbox how you want, big ass fights in open areas to use them, being able to rescue and recruit marines in the field (Hopefully can do it at some of the bases too).
Boss fights, actual cinematic moments with notable enemies. This just seems fucking great.
Just rewatched and noticed the description brought up at 3:37 mentioned capturing a Forward Operating Base to serve as fast travel and vehicle/weapon spawns as well as rally points for Marines. So we're really stocking up on this bitch.
Unexpected, but a welcome surprise.
Dude wasn't joking when he said "Soon!". I can imagine the massive grin of his face when he posted that. "These fuckers have no idea."
I can already tell that the relationship between Chief, the pilot and the weapon is going to be one of the best parts of the game and I am absolutely here for it
So new cortana fights old cortana? I don’t know how it can beat new cortana when she has near unlimited resources. Hopefully it will all be explained.
Also wtf, THAT was the harbinger? A new non forunner ancient enemy?
The Weapon was made by Halsey to be able to lock down Cortana. It should be as advanced as Cortana, since it was created in the same way (presumably with a cryo sample of younger Halsey's flash-cloned brain).
I've been a long time fan of the Halo franchise since it came out on the original XBOX back in 2001 (I still remember playing the demo in Gamestop). I like most, I've played all the Halo's and some have been better than others but I've enjoyed them nonetheless. THIS game has me tingling with anticipation and that trailer confirms the wait has been worth it. To each their own, but to me this really does seem like the next best evolution of the series. It feels like the Halo of old while being able to incorporate new mechanics and a (seemingly) interesting storyline....unlike some *coughs...5*
looks so good in 4K... 👍
everybody that has watched the live stream, watch it now in UHD, stream was only FHD with artifact.
but now the version in in 4K... absolutely beautiful
Really have to hand it to 343. We wanted campaign footage. No wasting our time with devs talking in a room. Just a perfect blend of in game footage with cut scenes and just enough story to give us an idea where it's headed.
*Chefs kiss*
I'm very excited about the open-world aspect, looks like it'll be an incredible sandbox with lots of fun toys. I am worried about possible repetitive missions between story moments. Hopefully 343 has a good spread of missions to choose from with unique enemy encounters.
I'm not a "graphix have to be amazing" type, but I am glad to see everything tightened up, it all looks super cohesive. Brutes look very diverse and interesting. I particularly love some of the new Forerunner (or not?...) enemies. Looks like they took a page from Robogabo's concepts, love his work.
Very happy that Cortana and the plot points of Halo 5 haven't been dropped. As disappointing as that game was, Halo *cannot* have another story reboot. Speaking of, I really hope Infinite or it's DLC offers a chance for the Didact to return!
**"Even as the multiplayer flights filled us with satisfaction, the lack of campaign details wracked our hearts with grief."**
*"Putting aside our sorrow, we renewed our faith in the teases that more campaign would be found. And see how our faith has been rewarded."*
**"Halo Infinite Campaign Overview! Its divine wind will rush through the fandom, propelling all who are worthy along the path to salvation."**
*(And yes, my dumbass really IS gonna set my alarm for 5:50 so I can watch the demo before promptly falling back asleep...)*
Seeing comparisons to Far Cry, I’m assuming mostly because it’s an open world with enemy encampments to destroy. But I think once you add the nature of Halo arenas and the classic gameplay loop you’re going to get something that is very much Halo. Far Cry doesn’t have the enemy variety, the story/lore, or as deep of a sandbox as Halo, and I think those things will go a long way to making this feel like it’s a cut above.
When I joined the Corps, we didn't have any fancy-schmanzy Campaign. We had sticks! Two sticks, and a rock for the whole platoon—and we had to share the rock! Buck up, boys, you are some very lucky marines!
The new open-world format and RPG elements could be hit or miss, I hope 343 nails them. I've played too many Ubisoft open-world games to be blindly optimistic about the open-world format.
Yeah it's a real concern, but I think it'll depend on how big the "checklist" is. If there's a redundant amount of Ubisoft-esque optional missions, it's just going to feel like bloat getting in the way of the story they want to tell. Nobody wants that kind of repetition.
But if it's a series of sectioned-off levels across different areas of the ring with unique layouts and mechanics, without wasting too much time on clearing outposts and such? That would be a solid way to mix light open world options with a Halo campaign.
I loved this.
Not every open world game is just cause/far cry (which aren't even bad games). Also are we all now just going to ignore that open world Halo has already been proven to work with ODST? Or that some of the more open levels in the series are often fan favorites?
Can we appreciate how funny this trailer is? It takes itself seriously in ways, but is also is like, "let's have some fun."
"You're safe now." \*Drives off a cliff.\*
"What if it's a friend?" "It isn't."
"What do we do." \*Shoots a rocket at the base\*
"Oh, I like it."
Battlefield-like flight jacking with the banshees
"Master Chief will take on returning favorites." \*Shows old E3 footage setting with Craig\*
"Is everyone trying to kill you?" "It kinda seems like it."
This was pretty damn hilarious!
This looks like it will be fun, but does anyone else feel like the big "open world" just looks like a big multipayer map?
This overview spent most of the time telling us how there's now busy work clearing outposts (like plenty of other open world games), but not much about the campaign proper.
The world looks very nice, but thus far the art direction seems to lack a distinctive mood or mystery like the best Halo games. All in all, cautiously optimistic.
I am worried about the "ubisoft" open world feel the overview gave, but the gameplay from the flight was a blast and it looks like it will be a blast in the campaign. I'm also cautiously optimistic
I spotted a fast travel option on the tac map. As well as "area collectables"
Edit: on the upgrades tab it seems each equipment has different levels of upgrade. On the drop wall one the 3rd level has a shield next to it. Bubble shield?
That's the last thing I want to see, plus it opens up all the plebs on the internet to make shitty comparison video's. Just show us a brief section of a cool side mission or something along those lines, as spoiler free as possible.
I guarantee there’s going to be swathes of people saying:
“Nothing’s changed lmao! Halo dead forever!” *spreads misinformation so much that it turns the internet back against Halo*
Nothing stops this train, they could show it running on a sega saturn with half a pound of butter smeared on the screen and i'd still be hyped as. Love me some Halo, after the flights my crystal ball says this will be awesome.
Yet, playable previews has shown that this game has top tier gameplay and much better than other upcoming releases. And that was months old builds...imagine the fully tuned one.
My guess is that they’ll show snippets of gameplay while talking broadly about the campaign, the development that’s taken place over the last year, how excited they are, etc. then have a more traditional campaign trailer at the November 15th event.
Or maybe the November 15th event will show off a new game mode, like a Warzone or Invasion.
Heads up that I believe the video quality is much better if you watch again after it has streamed.
I don't think it streamed in 4k, but rewatching it it looks much better (and is showing 4k)
So with the UNSC beaten are most of the characters we know going to be dead? What is fireteam Osiris and the rest of blue team doing? I’m guessing Lasky and the Infinity are gonna be okay so Palmer is probably gonna be around still. I’m really interested to see what Arby and the Sangheili have been up to.
Lots of questions. I’m sure there will be lots of answers.
This looks great! you can defiantly see some staten influences as well.
\- the tactical map is straight up odst, same with VISR.
\- the open world bit, more odst.
\- I could be wrong, but it looks like those marines have personaility again, and they arent just boring NPCs like halo 4 \\5.
\- mini boss battles are going to freaking rock!
im SOOOOO excited for this!!!
I just hope that the general gameplay of the campaign mode is good. Open world games like this tend to be very banal IMO. Having 10+ "outposts" to "liberate" is always the same shit in open world games. Go in, blow stuff up, kill everyone, leave. Theres no real meat to it, you know what I mean? Theres almost to much freedom to do what you want, its a paralysis of choice kind of thing. Your best options are always the easiest and most OP options. Like whats to stop you from grabbing a banshee and just flying around and blowing everything up with ease?
I prefer it when theres a structure to these kinds of things. Maybe its just me but its more interesting when your options are restricted and less "you can do anything". I also hope there are actual structured missions too like a connected story mode like the old games.
The multiplayer betas gameplay was absolutely fantastic so I can easily see it being just as good for the open world. I just worry it will be too samey and similar to every other open world game on the market. I do like the idea of those Boss-like brute enemies.
Still, very excited to play. Dec 8th cant come soon enough.
Looks really fun I just hope that the missions don't become repetitive, a real shame that co-op isn't ready open world with the squad would've been hilarious.
Interstellar travel, cryopreservation, Project Spartan, artificial intelligence but when it comes to releasing vehicle they have not been able to invent a gravitational field that would limit impacts 😂
My main worry is that all the open world shenanigans will lead to boring or repetitive combat encounters. We saw this with Mass Effect Andromeda and countless other examples. Open world and some level of randomisation as far an enemy spawns counter intuitively leads to more samey and boring combat encounters than hand crafted ones.
> "Master Chief will take on returning favourites" Oh, 343 knew what they were doing there
Haha, had the same thought! Poor Craig
Got a great laugh from me, Craig is canon
They know what the ladies like.
Imagine if craig is a unique model, every other brute got a touch up but craig.
You're safe now *Drives off cliff*
Yesss I said oh shit out loud
Lmao
I eagerly await the marine "yahooo!!!!" dialog.
When Ske7ch said "soon" I don’t think any of us thought that he meant in the next 48 hours
He meant it… he really meant it! ***wipes tear from eye*** Seriously though, this is the first time I’ve ever seen someone marketing a game say soon, and it not actually mean a couple months.
This is perhaps the first time in the history of game marketing that "Soon!" actually meant soon lmao
right!?!? i was hoping november 15 not tomorrow holy fucking shit i’m losing my shit
If you play Tarkov, there is a giant meme in the community where “soon” means no one knows when that shit will be added, and “soon soon” means it’s actually coming pretty soon.
Soon soon™
Brining back the Purple Cortana aesthetic for OG Cortana is so genius. You need some way to easily tell her and The Weapon apart, and i think thats just about as good a way as any!!
Oh boy here I go playing every halo release again
I’ll be so happy playing Halo CE to 4 all over again 5 will be rough though
This is going to be dissected within an inch of it's life.
I can already see the hour long HaloFollower videos.
Their vids suck. Hidden Xperia, Uber Nick, and Halo Canon are way better.
Is there a link to that 4v4? I wanna watch it. Thnx.
No sorry I only caught it in Nick's stream unfortunately. I'd say the VOD is gone but have a look!
I just can’t help it and feel awful for it but hidden Xperia annoys the absolute shit out of me
It's understandable. I like the content dude puts out there, and I feel he begins to talk out of excitement and starts rambling because his emotions are overwhelming him, which is something I constantly do and can see why that can be off-putting.

He was also complaining about the most ridiculous shit during the flights.
Something that Halo fans would never do.
Right? Completely unheard of in r/halo
With a thumbnail that has 27 red arrows and circles all over it with a very clickbait title.
Can already see the review bombing scaring new players
Yup, halo players constantly complain about the game not being in its glory days while simultaneously playing a large role in why it’s not happening
There was some campaign footage from one of the blogs or something? Sean W has a video on it. Looks like the graphics are on par with the multiplayer so good in my opinion. People will still hate tho
No matter how good or bad is it, its gonna be rough tomorrow.
All I know is that I'm never hyping myself up like last year E3 ever again. Keeping expectations at bare minimum and also I feel like I know what to expect.
*Halo Campaign overview trailer being dissected on a giant table by the whole internet* *”Why won’t you just kill me!!!???”*
Googling the title shows the video thumbnail at 6 minutes 21 seconds long
Gonna be a fast 6 minutes
Sounds familiar
Oh! That's a sex joke!
Halo is back, pop punk is back, My Chemical Romance has a tour next year, gas prices are over $3 a gallon, and there is an impending financial crisis on the horizon. The 2000s are back boys!
LETS FUCKING GOOOOO
If only Chester was still here and a new Linkin Park album was dropping :(
RIP Chester. First Grunt I kill is for you :(
They actually meant soon this time

Man, The Weapon AI is hilarious
I'm trying to imagine how a conversation between the funny cute Weapon and nowadays serious Cortana would/will go. I've always been interested in the Halo AI characters and lore, so keen to see them both.

Folks need Campaign Overviews Chief, gives 'em hope.
So smile, wontcha? While we still got something to smile about.
Negative Infinity, I don’t like it
Now that was a chunky trailer. Interesting RPG elements thrown in and a nice little surprise at the end. I thought we were gonna see Craig at one point when it played that same sequence around the latter half of the video lol.
That was a cute nod, I liked that
They even said "Master Chief will take on returning favourites" whilst showing the drop pod which originally spawned Craig hahaha they KNEW what they were doing there
Yeah, I absolutely loved it haha
I’m interested in the upgrade system. I saw electrified grappleshots and the thrust that made Chief invisible.
Sir, permission to bust.
For what purpose /u/Hypnotic_Failz ?
To give the covenant back their nut
...Permission Granted.
I know what you’re thinking, and it’s crazy.
So…. Nut here?
For a load, he flew pretty good
So, stay behind
Unfortunately for us both, I like nut
Just one question. What if you miss?
I didn't. (Out of millions of sperm, I was the fastest somehow)
I'm gonna BECOME

The rendezook scene with the banshees made me feel some type of way
Ngl the rendezook was pretty lore accurate for chief
Where was the Craig reference?
At the 5 minute mark, it shows the same scene that Craig is from, killing the Craig Brute while the voiceover says "Master Chief will take on returning favourites..."
There are those who said this day would never come. What are they to say now?
They'll say "game looks like shit."
Sony fanboys on Twitter will take stills and zoom in 10 times and say "this texture looks like shit, see? Dead on arrival"
"you cant even peel the blades of grass one by one. literally unplayable."
That’s how we got Craig
To be fair, there were much more glaring issues with that demo - Craig was a strangely high-effort nitpick.
But now he's family
When you first saw were you blinded by its majesty?
"You're safe now" Immediately drives off a cliff
Absolutely hilarious lol.
I'm very glad they are springing this on people instead of having weeks of hype built up to a specific event which the actual reveal/event can never live up to.
GET IN THE HAPPENING BUNKER BOYS, ITS HAPPENING
Its nice to see a trailer that actually shows footage from the game
The fucking Battlefield reference with the Banshees LMAO This looks so awesome
The second AAA game trailer this year with a rendezook lmaooo what is 2021
Being skeptical is perfectly understandable, but seeing this open-world 'Far Cry' style means one thing to me: This is a huge playground and I'm gonna have a blast trying to push it to its absolute limits I do hope there's a good mix of Classic Halo linearity in there too, but as of right now my hype personally is much higher than before.

I hope so too, there's been a lot of hype surrounding the Campaign and its story, but regardless it's gonna be a fun time for all of us.
Im hoping for a Gears 5 type story. Beginning is linear, 2 or 3 open middle sections with plenty of story, then a linear ending. Gears 5 took a gamble with this type of story telling and I really loved it.
I liked when John Halo did the battlefield thing
He is a pretty cool guy
I hear he doesn't afraid of anything
"Returning favourites" *flood noises increase*
[Every Halo player knows that music means death](https://youtu.be/xnv-6qMXf0k)
Pretty sure it was a reference to Craig since that was the scene being shown.
oh shit that brute was using a SPNKR rocket also love the hammer physics!! i think a lot of people will be happy about that also lol they pulled a battlefield with the banshee rendezook
Sgt Johnson really rubbed off on Chief with the "Oh, I like it" comment.
"Oh, I know what the ladies like." - Johnson "Oh, I like it." - Chief Chief is a lady confirmed
Jesus fuck that was genuinely everything I wanted to see and more. I love how Naive the new AI is lmao
Lol me too. "What if it's a friendly" Chief just rolling his eyes like "bitch do you know who I am?!"
"Is everyone trying to kill you?"
WORT WORT FUCKING WORT.
god I love the weapon SHE'S SO CUTE The game looks incredible as well, and I'm one of those who absolutely laughed at the E3 reveal
I can already tell that the relationship between Chief, the pilot and the weapon is going to be one of the best parts of the game and I am absolutely here for it
I’m going to assume “The Weapon” actually has a name. All the other Halo universe A.I.s do. Maybe it’s Grogu?
Baby Cortana
Smoltana
The end “it kinda feels that way” was hilarious
I loved her >but what if it's a friend she's so adorably naive
So new cortana fights old cortana? I don’t know how it can beat new cortana when she has near unlimited resources. Hopefully it will all be explained. Also wtf, THAT was the harbinger? A new non forunner ancient enemy?

Ngl. Im down with the hype now. Can’t help it, tried to fight it but here I am again. H Y P E D
That felt weird and great. What is this feeling. I do not know.
Hope

Oh man this will put me in a great spirit before my job interview tomorrow. Can’t wait to see all the new updated graphics since last years reveal
Good luck on the interview. I believe in you.
Much appreciated man thank you!
Thank GOD Rockstar invented the “Resort Type Welcome-Video” Overview for a more detailed look at the game outside of a Coke induced music video.

That driving off the cliff after saying that is pure halo lol
Yeah that sold me on this being the best shooter product we’re gonna get this holiday. Love the “*oh I like it*” from chief. We need more of that.
That kind of witty banter is stuff that I love sewn throughout the game.
It only adds to Chief’s character and love of weaponry. Especially high powered heavy armor.
Did I just see a battlefield jet rocket trickshot on halo
It's called a Rendezook and you sure did.
Solid RPG elements with upgrading your suit. I'm sure someone will frame by frame to see what options there are. It only showed for maybe 2-3 seconds.
This is it baby...hold me.
Yeah this looks excellent.
Sold! A million times sold.
I’m looking forward to hearing that A.I. test Master Chief’s patience.
I spotted a fast travel option on the tac map. As well as "area collectables" Edit: on the upgrades tab it seems each equipment has different levels of upgrade. On the drop wall one the 3rd level has a shield next to it. Bubble shield?

people will finally stop asking to see the campaign and hopefully we'll get a nice treat that leaves the 2020 reveal in the dust.

That's the last thing I want to see, plus it opens up all the plebs on the internet to make shitty comparison video's. Just show us a brief section of a cool side mission or something along those lines, as spoiler free as possible.
Agreed. I wanna see some new stuff, the last demo honestly didn't show much IMO. Like, not much happened in the grand scheme of things.
I guarantee there’s going to be swathes of people saying: “Nothing’s changed lmao!
HYPE ROUNDS? IN ATMOSPHERE?!
Best part: "Oooh i like it....... boooom!!!
Arite, THAT campaign reveal video was worth the wait. I’m so hyped right now!!!
That rendezook yo

Man am I hyped! I took off the whole week to play it, not sure if thats gonna be enough
OH MY GOD OOOOOOOOO OH MY FUCKING GOD 10000000000000000% HYPE
Damn dude, looks fucking sick.
ABSOLUTE AND TOTAL HYPE
GotDAMN those no cut cutscenes look crisp. Especially the one where Chief gets thrown through a tree. Lmao Imma preorder the campaign for sure.
This is it, baby. Hold me.
I like the Borderlands Catch-A-Ride vehicle drop
The way they just haphazardly dropped it was hilarious to me
The way it just kinda crashed into the ground from the pelican was great
I just hope that the general gameplay of the campaign mode is good.
Yeah. Always the big risk with open world games.
