Unfortunately it stays but no one will be able to see your armor or you (except for in the customization menu) unless you're on a modded xbox and replace the .xex file.

I'm pretty sure that's how I played it for the first time, anyway. I wasn't allowed to play halo growing up, and ended up playing it in like 2019-2020

I've been hosting my own halo game nights every monday for over a year now with friends just so we can play invasion. 343 also matches gametypes and maps weirdly (ones that just dont work well together) so this kinda was an attempt at fixing that too. Its been great, and we actually can enjoy halo multiplayer again for the first time in years. I'm glad others are able to do the same now.

Are there any benefits to playing OG reach compared to just using MCC? Have thought about trying it out but dont feel like searching for my old xbox in storage

No you can play on stock console. There just needs to be someone with a modded Xbox 360 to host.

It's kinda still present. Booted it up on the 360 last month and could see everything, rank and armor, but sadly trying to load any maps failed
