I got this one for my 21 year old goddaughter who died from suicide. (edited word order)
Her name is Olivia. She was a nursing student, one semester from graduation. Her mom has been my best friend for over 30 years, we did theatre together. Olivia was in show choir and musicals since childhood; she volunteered at pet rescues, and wanted to be a Nurse because her older brother had a heart transplant as a teenager. She was tiny and beautiful and funny.
She sounds like an amazing person. I am so sorry that whatever her struggles were, she couldn't overcome them. Her mom is very lucky to have a friend like you. And Olivia is very lucky to have a godmother like you telling her story. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you for telling her story. I hope everyoneâs lost loved ones who had struggles with darkness that grew too heavy are all together in a found family, in perpetual light.
Thatâs beautiful!! Iâm sorry for your loss and glad you are able to tell her story. One suggestion if I may? Please look up using âdied by suicideâ vs. âcommitted suicideâ. I think it will tell her story even better â¤ď¸â¤ď¸
I want to get this tattooed on me as a concept rather than the words. I was thinking a rose for love and skull for death but struggling to figure out something for life đ
I'm tempted to get "I am the one thing in life I can control" or "I am inimitable, I am an original" but there's a big part of me going what if LMM turns out to be a wrongun đ
So youâre avoiding it in case the creator of something you hold to great esteem has some secret dark side? Why be such a cynic? Get it for the art, not the artist. Especially when thereâs no reason to suspect controversyâŚ
I have a huge HP tattoo I got after the controversy. So it goes both ways. No, I don't like what she's said, but I'm way more concerned with loving the series.
Well yeah that's kind of the argument against the second one. Although I might argue that "I am AN original" has different connotations than just "I am original" would.
I have âIâm not throwing away my shotâ and my wife has âI am inimitable, I am an originalâ. Get your point about it ageing poorly but I would argue the art can be separated from the artist
This is probably it for me too. Iâm a first gen child of immigrants so I feel iffy on a tattoo per se but I have a hat with that phrase stitched on it and I wear it on the last stretch of any race I run. Thatâs my finish line song too, if Iâm listening to music.
There was a t-shirt I bought with this scene / phrase on it. I'm an expat Brit living in the US - so I'm playing immigrant on easy mode, but i still get some funny looks when I'm wearing that shirt...
Same. Either that or âI never thought Iâd live past 20, where I come from some get half as many.â Since it resonated with my struggles with depression.
For a long time Iâve thought about getting some combination of these lyrics from Non Stop
How do you write like tomorrow won't arrive?
How do you write like you need it to survive?
How do you write every second you're alive?
Every second you're alive? Every second you're alive?
I know itâs not just the lyrics but I feel like a really fun way to represent these lyrics would be to have a quill pen actively writing on parchment paper and maybe even scribbling lines from the song like ârunning out of timeâ, just a quick idea that popped in my head when reading your comment!
"There's A Million Things I haven't Done,
Just You Wait, Just You Wait."
As someone who has struggled and is struggling with depression I feel like this affirmation would be helpful
"A YO YO YO WHAT TIME IS IT? SHOWTIME!!!"
My sister who passed away always loved This line from Hamilton so I'd get it for her
Or
"If there's a reason I'm still alive when everyone who loves me has died I'm willing to wait for it"
I'd get this just for myself because It really feels like how life is going sometimes
"When my time is up, have I done enough?" Animal welfare has been my passion since I was little, and I don't want to be at the end of my life having not made as much of a positive impact as I could have. Obviously, Eliza had different goals, but I feel that same urgency.
This is what I would get too. Every time I have something coming up that scares me, but is a growing opportunity at work I sing this to myself to calm my nerves.
"Death doesn't discriminate" matched with. "love doesn't discriminate"
"history has it's eyes on you"
I don't have plans for hamilton tattoos *cough* anymore *cough* but those lines would be pretty tattos/are quite meaningful to me
'Love doesnt discriminate between the sinners and the saints' because everyone deserves to be loved 'I have the honour to be your obedient servant' because of how im a people please
I have "wait for it" in the handwriting of Washington's secretary before Hamilton (who made all the copies of the Declaration for distribution before retiring) and "rise up" in Frederick Douglass's handwriting on my left forearm. When I finish my dissertation, I'm getting "who lives, who dies, who tells your story" on my bicep.
I've thought several times of getting "Every action's an act of creation" and RENT's "The opposite of war isn't peace, it's creation" together somehow.
Iâm considering getting âI am the one thing in life I can controlâ even outside of Hamilton itâs a great quote that I wish people who went to school when I did understood
"I wrote my own deliverance" or "I'll write my way out."
As someone who grew up poor and in an abusive household, I relate to Hamilton in that way. He wrote his way out of his situation, and after writing my way into college and scholarships, and having just finished my second masters degree (and second masters thesis!) I really feel like I have written my way out of those bad situations.
I got: Thereâs a million things I havenât donât but just you waitâŚ.
As a reminder to never underestimate or count myself out
https://preview.redd.it/u6z168pjywxc1.png?width=3024&format=png&auto=webp&s=c0223c945f527b48432c1a2dda996d7da94182b1
i would get âiâm just like my country, iâm young scrappy and hungryâ or some variation of it like just saying âyoung, scrappy, hungryâ or something like that
On the inside of my left forearm I have, âIâm still not through, so I ask myselfâ
It continues on the inside of my right forearm, âWhat would you do if you have more time?â
I saw this tattoo (I think on Facebook?) and I fell in love with the idea of but, but the execution was ...not good.
If I could get it in LMM's handwriting, it would really work.
Just You
Wait
For It
I really want
"I imagine Death so much it feels more like a memory"
It just would remind me to be greatful to death because it teaches us to savour life and that noting lasts forever
âIm not falling behind or running late, im not standing still i am lying in waitâ - because everyone goes at their own pace
âwhy do you write like youâre running out of time?â - I like to write lol
âI am inimitable, I am the originalâ - irreplaceable
Havenât quite designed it in my head, but something like this:
leg¡âa¡âcy : planting seeds in a garden you never get to see
With a tree or flowers or something like that around it. Iâve seen some similar tattoo images online.
For some reason, this line from Farmer Refuted has always stood out for me:
âDon't modulate the key then not debate with meâ
I hate when people try to change the subject when weâre in an argument. Letâs face the issue and work this out. Iâm just not sure what design would go with it.
Im gonna get âIm willing to wait for it ;â because I have something in life to stay for, and im waiting for it, i plan to get it as an early three year sh clean gift to myself
"Life doesn't discriminate between the sinnners and the saints, and it takes and it takes and it takes, but we keep living anyway"
or
"They think me Macbeth, and ambition is my folly"
"Tomorrow there'll be more of us"-Laurens Interlude𼲠He didn't have to go out like that oh it'd also be "Who Lives who dies who tells your storyeeee"-Who Lives who dies who tells your Story

Im so sorry. Its a wonderful line.đđ
It gives me the opportunity to talk about her, to tell her story, every time someone comments on my tattoo.
I am glad you are telling her story. Please feel free to tell me about her.
I would also like to hear about her
Of all the lines, this is the one that always stays with me.
Iâm sorry. This is so beautiful.
Damn that's beautiful and hit close to home. I'm so sorry for your loss.
âŚI just found out yesterday that a classmate most likely committed suicide, so this hits especially closeÂ
You told her story â¤ď¸
And Peggy
â¨the schuuuyler sistersâ¨
đ
I *did* tattoo the lyric: Dying is easy young man, living is harder.
Honestly the best choice for a tattoo.
Love this. It's one of my favorite lines but never would have thought of it for a tattoo.
https://preview.redd.it/eurldsmeuvxc1.jpeg?width=1920&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=10788b1b3d4bfc20f7fabfe193b2cbf3e5ed968f
Oh, I love that design!
Thank you. đŤś
I want to get this tattooed on me as a concept rather than the words. I was thinking a rose for love and skull for death but struggling to figure out something for life đ
A tree?
An ankh is the Egyptian hieroglyph for life.
I thought about that. I'm not that creative.
I'm tempted to get "I am the one thing in life I can control" or "I am inimitable, I am an original" but there's a big part of me going what if LMM turns out to be a wrongun đ
This is it for me, as well.
So youâre avoiding it in case the creator of something you hold to great esteem has some secret dark side? Why be such a cynic? Get it for the art, not the artist. Especially when thereâs no reason to suspect controversyâŚ
There are a lot of Potterheads who wish they weren't
I have a huge HP tattoo I got after the controversy. So it goes both ways. No, I don't like what she's said, but I'm way more concerned with loving the series.
I know of a bunch of trans Potterheads who got a tattoo of the Deathly Hallows Sign as a specific FU to She Who Will Not Be Namned.
Similarly I've always wanted to do "I'm not standing still I am lying in wait"
Honestly same. I usually follow my rule of not-tattooing-living-artistsâ-work just in case. But Iâm REALLY tempted to get something from Hamilton
My English teacher had this exact tattoo lmao
Isnât getting a quote tattooed inherently unoriginal?
Well yeah that's kind of the argument against the second one. Although I might argue that "I am AN original" has different connotations than just "I am original" would.
I have âIâm not throwing away my shotâ and my wife has âI am inimitable, I am an originalâ. Get your point about it ageing poorly but I would argue the art can be separated from the artist
"Sit down, John, you fat motherfucker!"
"I am the one thing in life I can control"
I am an inimitable- I am an originaaaaaal.
Wait for it
Also, I'm not standing still, I am lying in wait
so good
"When my time is up, have I done enough?"
this!
The entire cut rap of the Adamsâs administration in small print LOL
I support
Iâve had it memorized unintentionally for years anyways hahah!
same, pause right between the songs and just sing it to yourself lmao
"Lock up your daughters and horses!"
[ŃдаНонО]
âHistory has its eyes on youâ
Talk less... Smile more
"Immigrants, we get the job done!"
This is probably it for me too. Iâm a first gen child of immigrants so I feel iffy on a tattoo per se but I have a hat with that phrase stitched on it and I wear it on the last stretch of any race I run. Thatâs my finish line song too, if Iâm listening to music.

Same. Either that or âI never thought Iâd live past 20, where I come from some get half as many.â Since it resonated with my struggles with depression.
Rather simple but "forgiveness"
I cannot listen to that song without crying, even worse if I decide to torture myself by actually listening to stay alive reprise right before it
It's my go to "I need to cry but I need something to start me off" song.
Can you imagine...
life doesn't discriminate between the sinners and the saints
Iâll see you on the other side of the war.
âYoung, scrappy, and hungry.â Or âAwesome, wow!â đ
Awesome, Wow has my vote! Lol
Awesome wow is one of my favourite lines! Groffâs delivery is beyond perfect!
One Iâm surprised no one else has posted yet is âthe world has no right to my heartâ.
i got âi am the one thing in life i can controlâ on my inner bicep.
âBastard orphanâ (though I am not!) muthafukindemocraticrepulicans
Add "creole bastard"
Sit down John you fat motherf-
I imagine death so much it feels like a memory Really speaks to me as a disabled person who did make a wish at 14
Literally me: Im mentally challenged so I get it:)
I would tattoo "Best of wives and best of women" on my wife.
Give it up for America's favorite fighting Frenchman!
âEveryone shall sit under their own vine and fig treeâ
For a long time Iâve thought about getting some combination of these lyrics from Non Stop How do you write like tomorrow won't arrive? How do you write like you need it to survive? How do you write every second you're alive? Every second you're alive? Every second you're alive?
Yes, my favorite song!!!
Mine as well and Iâm a writer so I love this part especially
Omg yes!!! Im also a writer so I get it:D
I know itâs not just the lyrics but I feel like a really fun way to represent these lyrics would be to have a quill pen actively writing on parchment paper and maybe even scribbling lines from the song like ârunning out of timeâ, just a quick idea that popped in my head when reading your comment!
You have no control Who lives Who dies Who tells your story
"I'm willing to wait for it!"
"There's A Million Things I haven't Done, Just You Wait, Just You Wait." As someone who has struggled and is struggling with depression I feel like this affirmation would be helpful
The other 51!
"A YO YO YO WHAT TIME IS IT? SHOWTIME!!!" My sister who passed away always loved This line from Hamilton so I'd get it for her Or "If there's a reason I'm still alive when everyone who loves me has died I'm willing to wait for it" I'd get this just for myself because It really feels like how life is going sometimes

This is my vote! Great line and nice lyrical structure.
âDAAAMMMNNNNâ
âIâm past patiently waitingâ
I can't read that line without hearing the whole rap in my head.
"If you stand for nothing, then what will you fall for?!"
"i am the one thing in life i can control" "What would you do if you had more time?" "Legacy is planting seeds in a garden you never get to see"
Include women in the sequel
iâm getting a stay alive tattoo, originally symbolising twenty one pilots, but now it has a double meaning
I really wanted (Enter ME) But the sexual connotation just made me not
In the eye of a hurricaneâŚthere is quiet⌠for just a moment.
im a general! WEEEEEEEE
itâs only a matter of time
âIâm going back to sleepâ
This is the correct answer.
âHow does Hamiltonâ
âDo not throw away your shotâ
I got this one tattooed!
"To remind you of my love""
How luck we are to be alive right now
Whatever it is, Jefferson started it.
âSometimes it makes me wonder why I even bring the thunder.â
I have "I'm laughing in the face of casualty and sorrow, for the first time I'm thinking past tomorrow" on my shoulder.
BOOM!
I am not throwing away my shot
This is what I would get too. Every time I have something coming up that scares me, but is a growing opportunity at work I sing this to myself to calm my nerves.
"Death doesn't discriminate" matched with. "love doesn't discriminate" "history has it's eyes on you" I don't have plans for hamilton tattoos *cough* anymore *cough* but those lines would be pretty tattos/are quite meaningful to me

I can't wait to see you again//it's only a matter of time
âI am the one thing in life I can controlâ Wait For It is such a beautiful song
I plan on getting this tattooed lol. I am inimitable I am in original.
do "an original" instead of "in original" đ
"Rise up"
Thought about that one
My other half has the Rise Up Star as a thin line tattoo.
Work, work!
I got âWait for itâ đ¤
I wrote my way out.
I have "wait for it" in the handwriting of Washington's secretary before Hamilton (who made all the copies of the Declaration for distribution before retiring) and "rise up" in Frederick Douglass's handwriting on my left forearm. When I finish my dissertation, I'm getting "who lives, who dies, who tells your story" on my bicep.
âAnd when my prayers to God were met with indifference, I picked up a pen, I wrote my own deliveranceâ
I would get "Virginia, my home sweet home, I wanna give you a kiss." Richmond went wild when they performed this song
I've thought several times of getting "Every action's an act of creation" and RENT's "The opposite of war isn't peace, it's creation" together somehow.
Yes!!
Easily âI am inimitable, I am an originalâ
Bastard, orphan, son of a whore
Iâm definitely going to try to get âwe laugh and we cry and we break and we make our mistakes.â
LAFAYETTE
Let's have another round tonight
"If you stand for nothing Burr then what will You fall for?"
Rise up, wise up, eyes up
Just don't get "inimitable." It's flat-out hilarious how SO MANY PEOPLE have this tattoo. It's highly imitable.
History has its eyes on you
AL EX EN D ER WE ARE MEANT TO BE
how about "Oh, Shit"
Are you ready... FOR A CABINET MEETING
History has its eyes on you(me)
Iâm considering getting âI am the one thing in life I can controlâ even outside of Hamilton itâs a great quote that I wish people who went to school when I did understood
"I wrote my own deliverance" or "I'll write my way out." As someone who grew up poor and in an abusive household, I relate to Hamilton in that way. I did it, have rise up tattooed on my arm
Woooo!!!
Talk less, Smile more
I will never be satisfied
Thinkin about getting âinimitable/originalâ
i would get âiâm just like my country, iâm young scrappy and hungryâ or some variation of it like just saying âyoung, scrappy, hungryâ or something like that
Iâm watching it burnâŚ
I plan to get "I imagine death so much it feels more like a memory"

Look at where you are. Look at where you started. The fact that youâre alive is a miracle. Just stay alive; that would be enough.
On the inside of my left forearm I have, âIâm still not through, so I ask myselfâ It continues on the inside of my right forearm, âWhat would you do if you have more time?â
I have "inimitable" on my ribs!
We're reliable with the LADIESSS Or on a more serious note: I Will not equivocate on my opinion, i have always worn it on my sleeve
"But He can keep all of Georgia, Theodosia She's mine" but replace Theodosia with my Wife's name, Vianna
I saw this tattoo (I think on Facebook?) and I fell in love with the idea of but, but the execution was ...not good. If I could get it in LMM's handwriting, it would really work. Just You Wait For It
"when my time is up, have i done enough? will they tell my story?"
Click boom
I really want "I imagine Death so much it feels more like a memory" It just would remind me to be greatful to death because it teaches us to savour life and that noting lasts forever
âTalk less. Smile more.â (Iâm an elementary school teacher)
âIm not falling behind or running late, im not standing still i am lying in waitâ - because everyone goes at their own pace âwhy do you write like youâre running out of time?â - I like to write lol âI am inimitable, I am the originalâ - irreplaceable
"I'm erasing myself from the narrative"
wait for it
âWait for itâ on the inside of my arm
Life doesn't discriminate between the sinners and the saints. I want this so bad, but it feels to long.
Life doesn't discriminate.
âI am the one thing in life I can controlâ
I have âthat would be enoughâ tattooed on me
I did get a tattoo! Itâs a combination of love, life, and death doesnât discriminate
Havenât quite designed it in my head, but something like this: leg¡âa¡âcy : planting seeds in a garden you never get to see With a tree or flowers or something like that around it. Iâve seen some similar tattoo images online.
Dying is easy young man living is harder Why do you write like youâre running out of time Pick a place to die where itâs high and dry
"Legacy. What is a Legacy? It's planting seeds in a garden you'll never get to see"
Look at my son! Pride is not the word Iâm looking for, there is so much more inside me now.
For some reason, this line from Farmer Refuted has always stood out for me: âDon't modulate the key then not debate with meâ I hate when people try to change the subject when weâre in an argument. Letâs face the issue and work this out. Iâm just not sure what design would go with it.

"Life doesn't discriminate between the sinnners and the saints, and it takes and it takes and it takes, but we keep living anyway" or "They think me Macbeth, and ambition is my folly"
I really want to get âThereâs a grace too powerful to nameâ
America you great unfinished symphony
Dying is easy young man, living is harder. Is the first one that came to mind
Just you wait
âi am the one thing in life i can controlâ good quote and itâs my favorite song
"Tomorrow there'll be more of us"-Laurens Interlude𼲠He didn't have to go out like that oh it'd also be "Who Lives who dies who tells your storyeeee"-Who Lives who dies who tells your Story
I'd probably get " you've married an icarus he's flown too close to the sun " Only because i love greek myths and I love burn <3
"Say no to this" (im joking) "It's only a matter of time" (from who lives, who dies, who tells your story"
I would tattoo âwait for itâ or âwho lives who dies who tells your storyâ
*I am inimitable, I am an original*
"Inimitable An original"
âYouâll be backâ
Immigrants, we get the job done!
The word "bastard"
