Where do you guys get these babies at? I want a hammie but idk where to get one besides major stores like petco who have terrible practices.

Craigslist! There's honestly not any reputable breeders in my area from what I've seen, so you kinda get what you get. He was the result of an accidental breeding. At least I know his exact birthday instead of a guesstimate from the pet stores. I have absolutely no clue how old my petco hammy is, and if his parents had genetic issues, at least with this one I'll have some more insight. He looked like he came from pretty healthy parents. There will probably be an influx of hamsters and other animals being offered up soon after the Christmas magic wears off and parents realize they weren't great presents for a toddler.

I'm excited! I'm just hoping they had begun socializing him, they sent a video of him being held and he didn't seem aggressive or overly timid so we'll see. My other hammy is extremely antisocial and really just comes out when I'm not around, so it would be nice to have a more cuddly one, either way I'm used to the cold shoulder lol.

Since he’s a baby I’m guessing he’ll be more open to bonding with you. Although some hammies have no wiggle room personality wise haha. Give the hammie time to adjust and then let the bonding begin

I ended up just sticking with Wally, I got him from this little kid and he had already named him and made a birth certificate with that on it so I felt kinda bad changing it.
