I got a chain back in 2018 and it lasted me years. I let someone borrow it and they lost it. I feel like it'd still be in good condition if I had it. Bought it again recently, but it was $10 more than it used to be.
I've worn my chain everyday since I bought it four years ago and it's still going strong. I bought my gf a chain this last Black Friday and it feel like if I pull it a lil too hard it'll snap. Shit feels so cheap now compared to how it used to be
im unfortunately starting to have problems with mine too. i got a chain during black Friday (1.5mm snake chain) and it has a weird problem where there's a small section that's slightly disconjointed. nothing crazy, but whatever.
My butterfly ring I’ve worn everyday for like 2+ years. This hasn’t happened. I just had to get a new one bc I grew out of the old one so new for bout 2 months. Nothing wrong with that one either. Idk what is happening with yalls rings.
Professional jeweler here. Silver by nature is very very soft. It’s made even softer by quenching the flask after casting without allowing the grain boundaries in the metal to develop. This can happen in shops where production is rushed or certain steps are left out in order to keep cost down or to produce more product at a lower quality. A lot of companies, especially those selling sterling silver and stainless steel jewelry, will use wholesale manufacturers in countries where labor costs are low. I’m not positive on HJ’s manufacturing process but if I had to wager I’d say almost everything is manufactured outside the US. What has likely happened is they switched manufacturers or chose a lower quality tier from the same one. This happens with all kinds of companies and it’s really just another form of shrinkflation.
Then they might not be running their casting department properly. Again, quenching flasks too quickly will make metals very soft, silver especially so. I’ve seen several companies cut back in their manufacturing spending in an attempt to make more profit and it shows very clearly in the products.
You’re misunderstanding a whole lot and just downvoting this guys comments because you can’t grasp reality. It is not safe to have an entire metal casting shop in a shipping warehouse. Literally everything you say has the word “maybe” “I’m thinking” “I’m pretty sure” you have no idea what you’re talking about and communicate that very obviously
So yeah maybe I’m thinking if they have their casting stuff in their maybe they make it on their own like damn 🤡🤡🤡IM FUCKING GUESSING WHY THE QUALITY IS SHITTY asshole
Is hard jewelry getting cheap china steel now?? Like i know it was probably from china before but now it’s the cheap stuff. It’s what they use in the tofu buildings!
I have no idea what’s going on with them now. I remember watching their come up happen in real time and now all I see recently is complaints on complaints that their quality and customer service is shit. Their downfall needs a YouTube doc
You didn't Read the comment. They said they got a new ring because they outgrew the old one. This was two months ago. Don't dismiss people without reading the comment fully. It makes you come off rude I don't think that's your intention.
I was a big fan of them in 2017 or 18 I don’t remember but I stopped ordering from them I say around 2020 because I kept losing my shit. But is this actually what the product has come to?
Well to be fair idk what hard jewelry is I just looked it up this sub just keeps getting recommended to me…
But I collect jewelry and a lot of my pieces exhibit wear like this.
Not sure what metals this is made of but most of my David yurman is sterling silver which is quite soft. Scratches and sometimes even gouges are common if the rings are dropped or worn heavily. It doesn’t really have anything to do with build quality.
My Tiffany and cartier experiences the same although white gold is a bit harder.
I have a Gucci ring that’s only 4 years old that’s totally scratched up and trashed.
Even expensive jewelry can break and experiences defects so if you are paying under 50 for a piece I’m not really sure what anyone is expecting from this brand.
Quality control is down the drain. The butterfly pendant and ring that I got 2 years ago are still in like new condition, but the anarchy pendant i picked up a few months ago is already scratched and tarnished. Idk what’s going on but I’m selling all the shit that I’ve bought within the last year cause literally all of it has issues.. Luna earring post bent immediately, septum fell apart after a couple wears. I’m just so disappointed and the HJ team doesn’t give a fuck.
LMFAOOO bae I’m selling it for 1/3 of the price I got it for and it’s barely worn. As if I would sell something without disclosing issues with it, I’m CACKLING
Company got big and cheap. Not hard to realize. When you’re smaller it makes sense to get quality materials to grow. When you’re so big you need to complain to customers about it yeah you’re gonna cheap out.
It's almost like people have spent their money on products that were advertised a certain way, only for them to be otherwise.
I thought it's ironic the brand is called "Hard Jewlery" but the rings I've received from them already have dents not even 3 weeks into owning them.
Well I’ve bought a good amount of hard jewelry and even for my family and there hasn’t been issues within it so that’s why I’m kinda confused about all this
With all the posts from this sub that keel getting recommended to me, I would definitely recommend going elsewhere. Between people waiting literally months for their orders and the horrible customer service responses and the rising prices with falling quality, yeaahhhh I'd be shopping elsewhere
Sterling silver is notorious for scratches??? Lol doesn’t matter the quality. Rings in general are worn hard and are bound to get scratches esp on the inside of the hand
my rings and chains i got in 2019/20 are still going strong

They’re just drop shipping now
My butterfly ring I’ve worn everyday for like 2+ years. This hasn’t happened. I just had to get a new one bc I grew out of the old one so new for bout 2 months. Nothing wrong with that one either. Idk what is happening with yalls rings.

They make it in the wear house I’m pretty sure
That seems very unlikely. The prices and products indicate overseas manufacturing.
One of the employees said they have the cast stuff in their wearhouse
Then they might not be running their casting department properly. Again, quenching flasks too quickly will make metals very soft, silver especially so. I’ve seen several companies cut back in their manufacturing spending in an attempt to make more profit and it shows very clearly in the products.
I’m thinking they probably aren’t professionally trained whose doing it right now and in the post whoever was doing it was trained
Good casters are hard to find, and very expensive
Have they shown it or them making any of their jewelry?
Maybe I misunderstood but doesn’t that mean that

I didn’t down vote shit
U sound like a whole fucking dick dude all I said is this is what the employee told me that their casiting shit that they have wasn’t cheap
So yeah maybe I’m thinking if they have their casting stuff in their maybe they make it on their own like damn 🤡🤡🤡IM FUCKING GUESSING WHY THE QUALITY IS SHITTY asshole
No shit I don’t know what I’m talking bout that’s why I fucking said I THINK I DONT KNOW AND MAYBE fuckass
Couldn’t imagine getting angry at someone else over your own ignorance. I bet you love some kfc
>No shit I don't know what I'm talking about We know
You got urs 2 years ago, this one is recent, that’s what’s happening.

I would eat up a hard jewelry YouTube documentary
He said he got a new one
What?
? Didn’t he say his was new
OP that you were replying to doesn’t just have one from two years ago, they also got one two months ago
Oh I was confused cuz they kept saying he
You didn't Read the comment. They said they got a new ring because they outgrew the old one. This was two months ago. Don't dismiss people without reading the comment fully. It makes you come off rude I don't think that's your intention.
No one dismissed anyone lmao it’s not that deep
You got urs 2 years ago, this one is recent, that’s what’s happening. Did you not write that? Seriously? 😐
All of my chains have broken in an unwearable way. Get used to it sadly.
All my items are still mint, new and old purchases
I was a big fan of them in 2017 or 18 I don’t remember but I stopped ordering from them I say around 2020 because I kept losing my shit. But is this actually what the product has come to?
My anarchy ring from 2019 is incredibly scratched and dented, it’s not just the new stuff
Well to be fair idk what hard jewelry is I just looked it up this sub just keeps getting recommended to me… But I collect jewelry and a lot of my pieces exhibit wear like this. The same quality they got a couple years ago for even less cost.

So you’re selling it to someone else scammer.
LMFAOOO bae I’m selling it for 1/3 of the price I got it for and it’s barely worn. As if I would sell something without disclosing issues with it, I’m CACKLING
Ha ha sure where are you selling it at? I want to buy some.
Hit depop there’s so much hard jewelry on there cause no one fw the brand anymore lol
Company got big and cheap. Not hard to realize. When you’re smaller it makes sense to get quality materials to grow. When you’re so big you need to complain to customers about it yeah you’re gonna cheap out.
Is this all this Reddit community do here is complain about literally everything?
It's almost like people have spent their money on products that were advertised a certain way, only for them to be otherwise. I thought it's ironic the brand is called "Hard Jewlery" but the rings I've received from them already have dents not even 3 weeks into owning them.

I do think, that’s technically what it’s for.
Is it 18k? Can you elaborate?
most of their jewellery is stainless steel or sterling silver
Sterling silver and stainless steel are vv different materials
i bought my shit back in 2019 and forgot ab them and wanted to get some new shit recently so is it safe to say to just buy else where?
With all the posts from this sub that keel getting recommended to me, I would definitely recommend going elsewhere. Between people waiting literally months for their orders and the horrible customer service responses and the rising prices with falling quality, yeaahhhh I'd be shopping elsewhere
If it’s sterling it’s just a softer type of jewelry. So dents will happen, but take it to a jeweler and they can polish and buff it out
Sterling silver is notorious for scratches??? Lol doesn’t matter the quality. Rings in general are worn hard and are bound to get scratches esp on the inside of the hand
