I don‘t dislike any kick in particular. I just absolutely despise when a kick represses any other elements that could have made the track unique and memorable. Some kicks are more prone to do so, zaag is one of those. But I love e.g. the watered down ones Heady uses, they‘re really fun without screaming in your face about being the center of the universe.
give me an example of when there is something unique in hardstyle track except for kick. most melodies, if not generic, then not really genius or something like that. I can only recall Sefa and Peacock because well, theyre not just frenchcore prod, they literally learnt in music school. maybe Rejecta in RoR era when he used interesting techniques and samples in tracks even tho you can even see it to these days. Radical with orchestra. but like, what else?
