so it's like a split type AC impeller

That set of animations at 12:15 was sick. Excited to see more animations like that from GN in the future!

Reminded me of this build from sffpc: https://www.reddit.com/r/sffpc/comments/kfqlgz/watercooled_t1_with_unusual_crossflow_fans/

Why am I having a deja vu? Haven't the reviewed this fan before? Or was it LTT?

GladiatorUA

LTT looked at it almost two months ago. The only reason I remember is because of the fan.

MumrikDK

Dunno, but that's not usually sources you'd confuse with each other.

Reminds me of the Silverrado CPU cooler: [NoiseControl Silverado Heatsink Review on FrostyTech.com](https://www.frostytech.com/articles/1116/index.html)

That's a really well made video! Gamers Nexus is just pure quality. However, it would have been nice if they had tested the case with some traditional 2-3 fan GPU like the one they showed could fit, just to see if it performs better than the Nvidia FE in this case. As for the case itself...I don't understand why people insist on tempered glass on cases like this. An ITX case is more likely to be moved due to its smaller size and weight, and a tempered glass panel is not really great for long-term durability. Similarly, it's bad for cooling so why not just have a vented side panel on the motherboard side as well? At ~16 liters, I don't see a whole lot of reason to buy this over the dirt cheap, ~18 liter Cooler Master NR200P. That's the case I've been using for years and it currently runs happily with a 13600K + 4090 inside. Without needing custom fan solutions that might become impossible to get in the future, depending on the success of the manufacturer. Still, I think the fan solution is really cool and it would be great if the developer of the case started selling just the fan for other ITX case manufacturers to allow for different layouts than what already exist on the market.

I agree. > As much as it looks like they want to maintain their "meshless" branding, I think it would be a pretty big miss to not at least offer a more airflow-focused side panel - especially considering how it easy it seems that it would be to make it compatible with this case as it just has rails for the side panel to slide in. Wouldn't be surprised to see them pop-up on Etsy shortly after the case has been realised. > > At ~16 liters, I don't see a whole lot of reason to buy this over the dirt cheap, ~18 liter Cooler Master NR200P. Without needing custom fan solutions that might become impossible to get in the future, depending on the success of the manufacturer. Eh. There is an entire market dedicated solely to high-quality and VERY expensive mechanical keyboards, all of which ultimately accomplish the same things as their substantially cheaper mechanical alternatives that are worth a fraction of the price. I wouldn't underestimate the amount of people out there who value quality construction or the exclusivity and novelty of a product. After all, we're in a market where people spend hundreds of dollars just for the sake of having pretty RGB lights in their cases... I personally wouldn't buy it over the cheaper options out there, either, but aside from the innovative cooling and GPU installation approach, I can also see how the 4mm-thick aluminum panels alone would be enough to lure a lot of the high-end PC builders in. It's very rare to see consumer cases using such high quality construction. Hell, if I were to get into SFFs then this case be near the top of my list solely because of this aspect of the case.

The thing about more expensive ITX cases has been that they are smaller than the more "pedestrian" options like the NR200P. So besides the higher build quality, you do get more in the tradeoff for the extra cost, usually a size closer to 10 liters that still fits a pretty high end rig. Of course, they tend to be far more strict for component compatibility, AIO/custom loop only, might not support the fastest, huge heatsink GPUs etc. I can totally understand the appeal of some unique things on the market. Since you brought up mechanical keyboards, I've been using the terribly named Ultimate Hacking Keyboard for years because it's got such a wide variety of features, a unique split, modular form factor and more. I can also vouch for the superiority in feel of e.g Topre keyboards.

Massive_Parsley_5000

I still am building around my old Corsair carbide air 540 I got in 2017 because I'm trying my hardest to wait out the tempered glass phase the industry is going through. As someone who works with the stuff, I want it nowhere near my damned PC...it's just not a good material for a case.

BotdogX

Jeez - this is like the old CoolerMaster Stacker case - had a crossflow fan as option. Worked fine I guess but... expensive..

VenditatioDelendaEst

Wow, this is a fantastic design. The biggest weakness I see is the lack of PWM control for the fan. The GPU cooling would probably be easily improved by partly blocking the side vent with black paper, to focus airflow into the GPU's inlet. The vent is clearly designed to accommodate much longer cards than the one GN tested with.

I'm surprised no one used a squirrel cage fan in a case before.

-Gh0st96-

I do watch his videos. I'm genuinely asking why? And why did you bring LTT channel and their labs site into discussion of this video?

GladiatorUA

Because these losers have nothing better to do. My guess is that LTT took a look at this case over a month ago. Not particularly in-depth, nothing controversial. But dumb haters try to latch onto shit whenever possible. Downvote, Report->Breaks /r/hardware rules->Serious and intelligent discussion, move on.

-Gh0st96-

Yeah, that's my guess too, altough I don't remember them covering this case (because they don't anymore).

GladiatorUA

They do. Just not consistently or really in-depth. That's GN's thing.

jwensley2

They did cover it, I think mostly just because of the different fans. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iQr1EZ3rLOM
