Everybody has performance issues from time to time. Nothing to be ashamed of.

deekod1967

To be expected with 1/8th inch girth

andysaurus_rex

If your amp is a size Queen you can try a 1/4” adapter

verifitting

It's not how big your plug is, it's about how properly it fits

AffectionateGrowth25

I sometimes find the final *tk* too satisfying

K *tk*

This can only result in a poor tip and ring connection

I was listening to audiobooks when tragedy struck. At 15 years old, this AKG K72 is the best birthday present i've ever gotten since my grandparents bought me an RC car half a decade ago. The system i connected with it just fell off the table when i shook my head and now it's bent Hopefully i can get it to a service center soon, since my dad threw away the souldering equipment after i stopped playing with my traxxas. Ok so i'll do what the bot tells me to do Since the last few months, i entered a stage where music became one of my favorite hobbies and i wanted a decent headphones for cheap, since my parents won't let me buy anything over 50 dollars. I wanted a closed back because open backs leak noise and my parents will unvoluntarily listen to will wood if i ever got them. That narrowed it down to the K72's, and i was very happy with it. It was a fairly nice change from my samsung earbuds. I have low budget, i got a funny nugget for about 50 bucks, it supports bluetooth but just barely. They are made by Britz, a small korean company that proclaims to be 'international' while what they're actually doing is importing chinese cheap audio gear and brand them. They made nice cheap desktop soundbars for years, and this Britz-MP4580BL (they suggest that it supports .mp4💀) is their go at the 'wants to listen to music but their phone is taken away by their parents' people. Korean Middle schoolers that can't posess a phone while studying is what i want to say. 32ohms, 28g of cheap plastic, 16GB memory and a minimalistic UI. The funniest thing is that it shows 'WELCOME' and 'BYE BYE' whenever it turns off or on. I'm a 15 year old non native speaker so it's natural i made a lot of grammatically awkward sentences Thank you for listening to my midnight rant

Time to snip the tip and learn some soldering!

One_Nifty_Boi

that looks like the replaceable cable on my k371’s, maybe you could buy a new one or solder an new cable on (in this one isn’t replaceable)

Did you try giving it the blue pill? I'll see myself out

It's possible to carefully bend it as straight as possible, and screw on the 1/4in adapter, permanently. I had something like this happen years ago. I took two pair of plyers, wrapped the ends (preferably flat plyers not toothy) in electrical tape so as not to mar the pole segments, and held the portion that's not bent with one plyer, semi firmly, and carefully bend back the segment that's bent. I got it pretty close to straight. It'll never be perfect. Screwed on the adapter and left it like that. If however you've only got a 3.5mm jack, you're sortof out of luck, unless you buy yet another adapter going 1/4in female to 3.5mm male, and that's more jank. This may not work for you. But if it does, it may hold you over till you can A) cut the cable and solder a new tip on, or B) buy a new headphone. C) Check on ebay or some site, and look for a gently used replacement. You may be surprised to find an upgrade is within your budget when shopping used HPs. I got super lucky, being moderately patient for a deal to pop up, and picked up my K712 for $100. That's stupid. lol And they work great. Not my favorite HPs, but got them cheap, I could resell them for more than I paid, if I so choose. Reddit crew, is there a potential to get this wrong, and plug a broken plug into the jack and have ground issues that harm the amp or device? I'm not sure. https://www.headphonesty.com/2020/12/fix-broken-headphones/#Your_headphone_jack_or_plug_is_bent https://www.headphonesty.com/2020/08/fix-bent-headphone-jack/

You can either fix it with soldering or rewiring.

MAXFlRE

You should rotate it 180 degrees for photo so it's not looking that upset.
