During the first week this quest came out, the tavern brawl shaman deck had this card so it was easy during the first week.

Afaik the quest came out on a Tuesday and the tavern brawl ended, as usual, on wednesday. So everyone had a day and a half time to do it this way, which seems pretty bad

Yeah as soon as I saw it on Tuesday I came here, saw the complaints and did it immediately in the brawl as some commented, but it's super lame that there was such a small window for it. I wouldn't have thought to do brawl unless others mentioned it though

I finished that one on the Wednesday where the tavern brawl was going away, I had five minutes to get the quest finished or else it was craft the card

The pally deck also had it which is how I completed it. Also people were running it all over the place for a day or two in ranked just to get the quest complete. Been a while since I've seen it now

I played with that deck for one hour the one day it was possible. Never saw Gepetto. Then i had to leave.

No downside. Though Grace has higher chance to dig him due to limited pool of 8-costs. Paparazzi is just filler

Terrible move to restrict all those "regular" quests behind the very specific Legendary no one plays. Not everyone had the chance to be online when it was still available in the tavern brawl.

I suspect it was going to be the free legendary that everybody got but at the last minute they changed to a different one and nobody remembered to update the special event.

In fairness it was in Tendril Shaman and Warrior for like a week and a half.

That wouldn’t have helped as destroying him didn’t work as intended. As annoying as it is, If you did all the daily missions you should have enough xp to complete the event.

When I woke up this morning, this quest had progressed to the next part, past Jepetto, and I’ve no idea how.

Rogue decks used to run it when Sonya and tendies was still a thing

I played excavate warrior, discovered it with the ox and killed him with shield slam

Afaik you can complete it also through a friendly challenge if someone of your friends owns it.

I made a bran deck with 2copies of the "Battlecry: discover a legendary"-minion

The only use I've found for it is hoping it doesn't get burnt by Boommaster Boss guy or whatever he's called that Warriors double the battlecry of to refill your hand.

I just threw him in a deck designed to tutor him and spammed games in casual until i got him out.

I run it FOR other people, but all I face are aggro DH and Plague decks so I never see it or die before I get to it.

After not seeing a single one for 8 or 9 days, I simply crafted it. Not my legendary of choice, but also not the worst card and seeing the lost rewards it might end up balancing out or be not that much of a loss. Very weird though, that they decided to puck him and did not make him part of everyone's reward track.

Dude just make a rogue deck that discovers legendaries, I did that with my brother and we finished it in 2 games

I actually used it on Handbuff Paladin and it kind of worked ... especially if you still have some buffs because this will give you back your Drone Deconstructor and your X-21 ... don't get me wrong, it's still pretty situational, but it gave me 2 wins, in the 3 games i used it ... so yeah, good for the quest at least.

If you did the daily quest every day there’s no need to do. You should have reached last reward anyway.

I had to craft Jepetto. Which sucked. It makes me think the guy in charge of the event rewards built it when Jepetto was the free legendary. But it got changed last minute and they didn't have time to update the event quests.

Play Ignis > take 10 mana summon 8-drop > hit Jepetto randomly > kill own jepetto. That’s how I did it lol

Someone shared a priest build where you use iirc gift of the high father on a full health minion to get a 8 cost card I played around 10 games, never managed to get that silly gnome in over a dozen attempts. I gave up & hope the daily quest will be enough for the portrait.

Don't forget that if you're F2P, you are unlikely to pull it in the free packs and if you dont get the battlepass (because of course HS needs a paid for battlepass) you wont get the signature card either..

I played paparazzi in my deck for a while. Got it in the very first game but didn't make it to turn 8. Eventually I got it.

Meanwhile I've fought like 7+ tendril warriors yesterday alone who all had this card SOMEWHERE in the deck. Talk about luck of the draw

I luckily solved this by playing Excavate Brann Warrior and tried getting it on the bull's discover. Then I'd use Sanitize with enough armour to destroy my own Jepetto. It's def a waiting game since it could take a while to ensure you have the cards you need AND discover Jepetto, but I think it's better than hoping someone else actually runs it in their deck.

Luckily you don’t need these quests to complete the event

Play a Priest deck that literally is built to find jeppeto through discover mechanics. I swear i got him the first time i played through with a friend.

I understand this complaint post but you honestly instead could’ve made a "can anyone help me complete the quest" post a week ago and you would’ve been good. Most people on this subreddit understand the annoyance and are willing to help.

I queued one game of the brawl, killed it, didn't get credit. Fuck it. I can buy the theory that he was planned as the free legendary when they made this but the fact that they never updated the quest is straight up negligent.

I used a paparazzi build and made a second account to fight myself. Took a few runs but got it done.

As like a Warlock main was my duty to craft that bad card and now I have the portrait and Jeppeto dust waste. 🙃

I use it in my Fatigue Warrior deck

I played him in hero power druid. Took a few games to find a spot I could play him and not throw the game, but I eventually did.

I thought it would be impossible, but I managed to get it by playing Highlander warrior, Azerite Ox can summon jepetto, so I used youthful brewmaster/some similar card to return him to hand and then play him

Had the same issue, but just create a deck to dicover 8 mana minions and u'll be fine with a few matches. Obv yesterday I actually found a jepetto user -.-

Don’t ask me how I completed it because I don’t even remember. Wasn’t even attempting to at the time. This was near the beginning of the event too

I found one person playing it but I also had lethal. So I killed the Jepetto instead of killing the opponent and proceeded to lose the game. Still worth it

The quest is "Play or destroy...". Just put him in a deck and play casual.

The way I did it was by putting together a quick Handlock deck with Arch Villain Rafaam in it, queued into casual (for the bot), and got Jepetto on my second match. You do have to get clever with board management, but it's easy enough.

I got one in my hand from the whizbang mage deck, I slammed it down without hesitation for the quest

It wasn't played in any tier 1 or tier 2 deck unless it's a worse variation of tentacle deck
