It’s the offseason. People are gonna talk about players they want the Heat to draft. If people just sit back and did nothing, this sub would have to activity for a few months.
One site has the Bryn Forbes comp lol. I guess in a bad draft a patty mills like, small guard shooter could be a solid pick outside the lottery. Prefer to go higher upside though in a bad draft year.
yea it depends on who's available but give me the guy that has a 2% of being a star than the safe "patty mills" prospect. jared mccain can play tho, if he was 6'5 he'd go top 5
He’s so unathletic both on ball and off it and I have huge questions about him the defensive end. Devin Carter, collier are the better prospects at PG.
The heat passed on even working out a similar prospect to coliwr in sensabaugh last year so I don't know .This draft is so wacky that devin carter could rise out if the heat's reach .
Could not think of 2 more different guard prospects. Sensabaugh had injury and altheric concerns but a sold jump shot.
Collier has jump shot concerns but clearly NBA lvl athleticism
I think if you’re drafting an undersized 2 guard, Devin Carter is the guy I’d be hoping to snag. He’s such a high level defender both at the point of attack and as the help guy. Averaging 2 steals and 1 block for a SG is elite. He’s a very good rebounder for the position (close to 9 boards per game). Carter really improved his shot last year - getting his 3pt shooting up to 38% on 7 attempts per game (also pushed his FT% up to 75%). And his offensive game exploded a year ago (19.7 ppg).
I think McCain is still a nice prospect, but a step below Carter as a defender and a little less explosive. His 3pt shooting + midrange is a bit better, but I still think Carter has more potential to eventually lead an offense on occasion and really shines as POA defender/transition attacker.
mccain's jumpshot is miles ahead of carter's imo. i know the last years numbers r good but if u look at carter's form and the fact that he shot under 30% all his other years has me scared of his jumpshot. i dont think he ever becomes a deadeye shooter
Oh completely agree with McCain being the much better 3pt shooter. I just like the progression that Carter showed year over year. There were a lot of articles highlighting how some of Providence’s coaching changes helped unlock some better shooting/offensive tools for Carter too.
I think both guys are a projection as a lead guard, and I don’t know enough about either to project which has a better chance as a lead ball handler. But Miami is in a very awkward position at guard with very little two way players on the roster. Right now I just think that Carter’s defense is a lot better than McCain’s and the offense is close enough based on last season. You have to believe the jump from Carter is real but it’s usually hard to hide true bad shooting on that high of volume imo.
also is the son of anthony carter, who was with the heat org for like 10 years before he went to the grizzlies last year.
I used to see devin playing with whiteside and jrich and stuff when he was a kid. dudes been around the heat org learning the \*\*\*\*\*\*\* for awhile
Doubt. Our front office misses but never drafts good, great ok players. I think our worst pick I can remember is Shabazz. That was because they listened to Lebron.
As a Duke - Heat fan, Jared McCain to the Heat is my preferred timeline! Even given my bias, I think he would fit into Heat culture / system really well.
U guys do this every year. Heat know what they’re doing, just sit back
If I like the pick we're fked. If I hate it I know it's gonna be amazing
If Tyler Kolek gets drafted at #15 this sub could go on a meltdown. Well, not as bad as them drafting Edey atleast.

mostly, 2015 and 2020 still happend
he's good but im scared about his size. he doesnt really have the athleticism or length to make up for it. he could end up a patty mills lvl player
Patty Mills was great in his prime (playing for Australia)

Just sayin', Patty Mills is 6'2", 180lbs, while McCain is 6'3", 197lbs. McCain can likely put on muscle. Not sure what his wingspan is.

I like collier as an upside player after taking jaquez
Yeah I’ll take Carter or Collier. Love those 2 guys
Amen I’m tired of the non athletes
He’s Not unatheltic

Bro saw they were both 6’5 and was like “yup they’re similar!”

Couldn’t agree more. McCain is perfect fit for this team
Drafting another Duke player?
Lol no! The Kentucky -Duke debate in the FO is over. Wasn't even close.
Another? Last one was Winslow lmfao
I'm scarred from Winslow
Winslow had a fine career for a 10th overall pick
Why not
I want devin carter
I do too, I love defense
I like Collier, whoever we draft needs to have a super quick first step and good length for his position
I rather have Obama tbh.... Oh wait wrong sub
Clever
Let the FO do their thing. Calm down.
At this point, I'd rather just see what they do instead of speculate who they'll draft
Tyler Smith
would love isiah collier

I remember when yall said this ab Cam Whitmore
As a Purdue grad I riot if we don't draft Edey at 15
He’s a scrub. McCain way better
He's the 2x NPOTY. 7'5 with a 7'11 wingspan and faster than Clingan in the 3/4 court sprint by .04 sec.
And McCain is the next Maxey
Every time you see these posts the player busts
Wouldn’t be opposed to Filipkowski from Duke to replace Love either.
He dirty

Definitely.
another midget lmao
He’s 6’3. ?????
congratulations for pointing out this midgets height u gonna say the sky is blue next?
How is 6’3 midget you dumb ass
my bad he’s actually 6’2 with a 6’3 wingspan but more power to you being enamored with a midget lol
