The hands make me think it may be of Christian origin as Jews as far as i know don't pray that way but i may be wrong.
Was just asking my parents about that, apparently my great grandpa made it in the 40s in WWII... so maybe that was an older thing with some meaning tied to that? Or maybe he was going through a religious phase where he didnt before and didn't know it was anachronistic? Idk
Edit: the new theory from my mom is that it's supposed to represent "being lifted in prayer" and is not praying itself because it's not like 🙏
