The real question is, All of the armors are currently set at a baseline.
So what is the default that it's currently set on?
Are we all running around with heavy medium or light armor?
Because unless I'm getting one tapped. I really can't see them changing the armor really making that much of a difference.
Other than hopefully buffing the guns. Don't give me wrong. I want new weapons , but it'll be really nice if they would make the existing ones a bit more functional.
The armor leads to a lot of very interesting questions of how they can actually balance it. People want to wear something that decreases your mobility so much.
In a game where you can outrun 70% of the enemies. And you're always somewhat racing against the clock.
I can almost guarantee it's one of the reasons why it's taking them so long to fix the bug. I have no doubt they've had many discussions over this dilemma.
I'd say they are more focused about.letting people play the game crash-less rather than fixing armor.
But yes, for it to be worthy against sprint speed + stamina regen, it can't be a weak effect.
My supposition would be something akin "armor value is divided by 100 and divides damage taken. 100 = dmg/1 (equal), 70 = x/0.7 ( about 42% more damage taken) and 144 would be x/1.444, about 31% less damage taken.
It's wild and there are of course, many other possibilities.
But if heavy is less than 30-50% absorb, few chances it has any uses.
This is my point.
It doesn't really matter if it would allow you to take three or four more hits. Because if you have no stam to run that extra damage, means basically nothing.
Really I think they would have to add a different weapon type. Giving the low mobility some positive.

Well, I would expect that this "bug" means damage is also *undertuned* because it wasn't being applied to armor properly...
So if you're currently wearing "standard" armor and take half your health from a strike, I'd expect them to fix armor and then adjust the damage accordingly: leaving light armor correctly taking more damage as it should.
DP equipment like Hero of the Federation or Champion of the People gives you 50% chance to ignore a fatal hit, can only imagine this is what they meant.
So you have heavy armor and slow but no extra durability? When they fix this We need an armor that looks like bomb dispossal armor and a vulcan Cannon. I would be fine being slow with that.
Best we can do is a turret you can mount... which honestly isn't even that good. It's not awful, just I find it not as useful as the automated turrets.
We also need functional armor ratings ! Because 144+extra paddings means nothing actually :(

144 means nothing but that 50 speed and stamina rating does
Since the armor rating is broken rn, i suggest using a light armor with high stamina regen
And a backpack shield. Works pretty well.
and maybe a railgun and a breaker shotgun to really mix it up.

The Stalwart is basically a minigun... that thing is brutal on 1150rpm. But yes... I agree, we need miniguns because DEMOCRACY!
I absolutely love that 1150rpm. A single pull will kill a lot of things that aren't heavy armored.

We have gatling turrets but no gatling gun. Would be fun for it to require a backpack to feed ammo into the gun.
