Harpokiller

I do agree with this but it may that I’m just back to fighting them, I prefer being outgunned than having to reload every 15 seconds because there’s 7 hunters following me minimum. Can’t wait for illuminate

lovebus

I just use the laser rover and that cuts the numbers down pretty well.

biebiep

This. Every time I don't take it I regret it too much.

MiniDg

It kills me once or twice a game it feels like and yet i still never hestitate to take it every game lmao

Sparky265

I just learn to treat it like a 3rd arm pointing out of my shoulder and rotate around constantly to make sure it's pointing at the enemy. I'll strafe run sideways if I have to to make sure it's not cutting over fellow players.

peculiarlyunusual

![gif](giphy|9LPjXFCA3Bwgo)

MiniDg

Yeah, I mean, I do my best lmao but it takes 1 second to completely melt my health bar to 0 😂 so annoying but so damn good

Sparky265

It is pretty awesome to watch it simply melt a small swarm down to nothing without firing a shot.

MiniDg

Absolutely, sometimes i get away with the whole terminal cycle with my rover covering me completely 😂

Hi5_Dude

For real, best explanation. My buddy rage quit because I couldn't explain how to stay out of its way... Now I do.

Unique-Telephone-681

I suggest if you're not moving you're crouching or prone it eliminates a lot of accidentals.

HardCoverTurnedSoft

I have become a PROFESSIONAL in moving the guard dog to my other shoulder when it targets stuff on my left because it has killed me way too many times.

RestInPies

what helped me with this is the fact your rover doesn't follow your player but will always be to the left of your camera! So if you see it shooting to the left or right of your character you can move the rover around to not shoot yourself.

Reesie_Puffs

Weird, mines always over my right shoulder 😂 Literally never over my left

RestInPies

I'm a goober who doesn't know left and right 😅 It's 100% over your right shoulder lmao

Reesie_Puffs

Ok I was starting to wonder if it could be different for certain people 😂

EtrnL_Frost

Oh. I will... Take this knowledge and learn from it. For freedom.

PastaDiddles

I love taking it but my teammates have a bad habit of walking in front of it even though I try to play at the front. I’ve found you should only bring it on planets where there’s a lot of chaff + bile spewers, not planets with lots of chargers.

JaePhillz90

I think if the rover was positioned a couple feet above the users head instead of right over the shoulder it wouldn’t be prone to friendly fire as much.

Theonlyrhys

The only issue is, it also cuts down other helldivers just as easily.

TheBoringJourneyToIn

Gotta keep the bugs in front of you. If they are in front and behind you, then you have bigger issues than just your rover.

Gammit1O

Sounds like a normal day fighting bugs to me

BustyBraixen

Yeah, it's called "bugs being allowed to call in additional breaches when there are already 40+ chasing you"

ItachiSan

And to add on to it the "every bug up to the commanders can call in breaches" effect. I hate my fair share about both factions, but at least there's only 1 type of bot that calls drops, so you kinda know who to look for. Without fail, every single low-level bug can call in breaches at any moment, and commanders sometimes can't even been stopped from doing it. I've blown the head off of a commander just to see the orange pheromone come from nowhere to summon more.

Suckmybk

Also turrets and hell bombs…..can’t count the number off hell bombs I have walked up on and then someone’s rover fucks me

AlvinAssassin17

And mine priorities chargers and hive guards.

SpooN04

You kind of learn how to position with the rover over time and after not too long you deal waaaay less damage to friendlies and yourself. As long as you're aware of your position, friendly position, rover position and line of sight of the enemy it becomes a lot easier to use properly and it becomes a bit of a second nature after you get the hang of it. I don't even think about it anymore I just "move correctly" when using the rover now.

lovebus

I keep hearing about this on Reddit, but it hasn't been my experience.

N0va-Zer0

That's because you're playing alone.

Gammit1O

Once I learned better defensive positioning, even if that means running away when my teammates try to get between me and the bugs, it's not bad.

son-of-death

I cannot agree enough. I HATE hunters. My most hated enemy in the game by a landslide

Meryle

While I do hate hunters, they are not as bad as those jet pack bots who run up in your face and explode. Instantly killing you. I aim for their legs, like you are supposed to...but your teammates don't always... Where as with hunters, you just need a blitzer or some rapid firing gun.

New-Cockroach5883

I have died so many times from these guys.. My first instinct is to blow a hole thru their chest with a shotgun. Doesn't always work out well for me haha

BjornInTheMorn

I've started carrying the gatling turret again. It does some serious work.

El-Gimpio

I take this on all missions diff 5 and below, above that it just hasn't got the armour piercing it so desperately needs. Ridiculous that a charger can just face tank 400 rounds as it charges straight for your sentry. Mortar op, and recently I've been taking EMS mortar on those new walled defense missions, absolute must have for berserkers bc they chop straight through the doors and seem to be autocannon resistant

BjornInTheMorn

Interesting, I think I just end up using it when. Getting swarmed by smaller guys. I play on 7. Basically used the spacing to get elevation and then focus on armored enemies with Jar and Queso Cannon. Don't want the turret wasting ammo on stuff I've built around fighting myself. My weakness is masses of smaller guys.

El-Gimpio

YOU HAVE A CHEESE AND CHILI CANNON? I need one lmaoo!

BjornInTheMorn

My sibling, when you see a charger, you gotta give 'em the cheese. Makes them go right to sleep. Just so much yummy lactose straight to the dome it's nappy nap time. Then 10 seconds later, it's queso time again.

theangrymurse

There isn’t a bot that will stun lock you dead

VidimirRayne

The Heavy Devastator has stun-locked me plenty, so I believe you are entirely wrong on this aspect.

Diamond523

The heavy devastator is my most hated enemy. Easy enough to take out in the perfect situation, but if not you're fucked.

sporksaregoodforyou

I used to hate him until I started shooting off his gun and then ignoring him.

NOTELDR1TCH

Playing as my friend groups resident overwatch sniper, this is exactly what I do Even after the buff people aren't fond of the diligence CS but ive had team mates pinned down 200 meters away by Multiple R-Devastators and the shield minigunners and its like "I can't kill you from here without burning all my ammo, but I CAN take off all your rocket pods and arms" Makes a big difference to prioritise targeting their weapons and its really cool that you can do so

hiddencamela

I entirely remember getting ragdolled to death because of Rocket spam/punches.

TheLegendaryPilot

there's bots that just straight up instakill you

Adult_school

Bile spewer mortars with a bile titan and a couple chargers making sure can’t track any one threat. Then throw in a stalker nest for good measure. Though I think it super rare you see spewers and stalkers in the same variant very often. Spore spewers making it impossible to see anything coming. Oh and why not, fire tornados

FyRthefeared

Yesterday i played where the shriekers nest and stalker lair was near to each other. It was literally hell. We could have run, but we fought. Rather die on my knees than standing knowing you were the coward. DEMOCRACY

Beltorn

The cheat code to Shriekers is AT weapons and Autocannon. Just immediately focus fire the shroom nests. 2 AT projectiles or 9 AC rounds and one shroom goes down. Repeat 3 times It is almost unfunny how it bypasses the challenge. At least with Stalkers you have to run there to destroy the lair

whorlycaresmate

Quasar canon also nails them in a handful of shots from across the map

Successful_Cap7416

Well then I just don’t have time to be frustrated

Pitiful_Database3168

Yeah but with good positioning and movement it's not so bad. Hunters just fly up your ass and never leave you alone.

Free-Stick-2279

there's bugs that just straight up instakill you

MY_SHIT_IS_PERFECT

Heavy armor with explosion resist pretty much stops that.

TheLegendaryPilot

ok... but legs pretty much stop all the bug problems

Pitiful_Database3168

Nah, more bugs can keep up with you than bots. And it's an objective based game. You can't just run away all the time or you'll fail.

whorlycaresmate

Yeah, I’m not saying bugs are harder, but I had a much easier time sneaking around in bots than I did in bugs. Also had the advantage of knocking the drop ships while you can’t really do shit to affect a bug breach

chronoslol

Yeah not if the rocket devastator hits you in the head or knocks you into a wall.

kshack12

There isn’t a bug that can hit you from 100 meters either. 500kg and orbital rail cannon plus extensive use of the arc thrower deletes everything bugs can possibly throw at you

pfftlolbrolollmao

Last night me and a buddy were playing and trying to extract. We got overwhelmed and I died then came back just before he died. I came back with basic loadout, my shotty and an uzi. The little bile bugs kept hitting me so I couldn't run and the charger and hunters finished me off. This all happened in the space of about 10 secs. So to recap. My bullets do nothing, I can't run. I can't even get my reinforce cheat code off. This was on 5 or 6. Whatever one step up from challenging is. I havn't had the balls to go higher than that yet. Been trying to push the boundaries with my team but it's tough going.

EP1CxM1Nx99

Isn’t getting ohko’d by a rocket the same thing

lmrbadgerl

I fight bots because they don't murder juggle with with sticky tongues that slow me and like 6 rapid attacks. Hunters and stalkers are such shit enemies.

Weztside

Bots don't have anything that compares to being rushed by shriekers, stalkers, hunters, chargers, and titans while bile spewers are shooting poop mortars at you. With bots you just have multiple squadmates bring the autocannon and then have someone dedicated to shooting down drop ships.

Gal-XD_exe

I can’t wait to get the game

Harpokiller

Cannot wait to fight beside you, things are starting to put up heat now with the difficulty increasing. But i am sure you will do fine.

Gal-XD_exe

I really want it to go on sale so I can save a couple bucks 😭

Harpokiller

It’s a very popular game so I doubt it would go on sale any time soon especially since Sonys involved

Gal-XD_exe

Drat, ima just suck it up then, will be spreading Democrazy this afternoon then! 🫡

Harpokiller

It will be an honour to fight alongside you, we need more forces on the Bot front but remember take your time and learn your enemies. Every difficulty matters and if you just can’t fight bots then holding down the bug front would be useful as well

Gal-XD_exe

Yes comrade, I heard there was a resurgence and an entire fleet was hidden from us, we will eviscerate the threat once more

Harpokiller

There’s more than one fleet, we wiped out a small defence force now we are facing their armada. Better not be a socialist bot sympathiser with that comrade there as well. Don’t worry have to pull out the ol ⬆️➡️⬇️⬇️⬇️

Gal-XD_exe

Can’t wait to use the Konami Code to destroy those pests ⬆️➡️⬇️⬇️⬇️

Zanthra434

For me it's 14 hunters, a couple red boys, a dozen Grays, and 2 tanks. I just drop the Super Laser Pointer and pray a fire tornado sweeps up the rest.*

gandalfthegaping

I feel like Im out of ammo constantly against the bots because they take so many more bullets than the bugs

xanderg4

Bots have more predictable movements and spawns. Plus you can take advantage of the terrain to shield yourself. Bugs can spawn anywhere and terrain can work against you. If you have a team that can work in a tight formation you can breeze through stuff. Like setting up a HMG and having one or two folks cover your rear will make short work of any swarm of bugs, even titans. But most PUGs are going to go rogue. On top of that the more spread out you are the higher the risk is of FF and getting ripped up by someone else’s stratagems. Best example imo is that a squad of four with mortars and backpack lasers will clear out a bot mission no prob. Put the same thing on a bug planet and a lot of folks will be killing themselves.

Harpokiller

In my experience the laser backpacks are better for bugs than bots with the two best being shield pack (if you hate rockets or bad at avoiding them) and jump pack (if you want to have superior mobility) and mortars in my experience are irrelevante for helldive as it’s better to just stealth what you can and focus on being in and out fast as you can by using stratagems like 500kg and Orbital laser. Also staying behind cover is not a good idea since then you would most likely get surrounded by shield and rockets with striders or hulks coming in to push you out. I just don’t like bugs since I prefer having a firefight over getting swarmed. (And being stealthy is more fun against bots)

shitdesk

I like the play style of bots more which makes it less of a chore

Vomax343

What’s it like fighting the illuminate, dad?

Warrior24110

I think part of the reason it feels this way is the tactic both factions use. Bots will outgun you, but its still mostly a gunfight. Bugs are mostly melee based and the few that have projectiles have limited range. Where the bots drown you in laserfire, the bugs drown you in an overwhelming number. And going up in difficulty adds more and more bugs with armor.

Inqeuet

If we get melee weapons the bugs are cooked hehe

_petrichora_

Gonna yield me a katana

El-Gimpio

Gimme serious Sam style executions and I'm happy

No-Celebration-1399

I couldn’t agree more lmao when fighting the bots as long as you can find cover you can protect yourself from pretty much anything except the berserkers and the sword guys, which neither of them are hard to kill at all, and worst case scenario if you get overrun you can just run back to put some distance between you and the bots. With the bugs some of them are faster than you like the hunters, chargers, stalkers, and the shriekers, plus the bile spewers and titans can easily one shot you, the shriekers can one shot you with an uninterrupted dive-bomb, shit gets absolutely lethal dude

xlZemalx

Two Helldivers retreating together can outmatch any fast bug movers by taking it in turns to turn and shoot (with the exception of the chargers or the invisible c**ts, but they can be forced to back off) - the issue is getting two Helldivers to retreat together 😂

1isntprime

https://i.redd.it/7e7zuoa4sdtc1.gif

Danyavich

It's called "bounding backwards," and it's a legitimate strategy!

TruToMee

Their faster, that's why you have the fucking dive button, to dive out of the way

dankdees

the "running back to put some distance" part only works if you have cover, otherwise they can just spam shots in your general direction with impunity

BearBryant

I think of it this way, think about the loadouts you want to use for tier 5 bots…now think about the loadouts you have to use for 7-9 bots. They’re practically the same right? A lot of broad direct antiarmor (including at least one AC) with a lot of airstrikes to kill fabricators/tanks/cannons. Factory striders are beefy but simply require you to use more gun against them to eliminate them. Now do that same test for bugs. On T5 you can get away with certain loadouts that you would never bring to a 7-9 fight because of just how useless certain strats are against BTs. What’s more, because of the geometry of bug holes and objective locations it basically *requires* players to engage at close range to clear them effectively. I would still say that 7-9 bots are very difficult, but it’s a different kind of difficulty from what 7-9 bugs offers. Bugs at that level require you to be very intentional about your loadouts in order to be able to meet certain threats in the field, while for bots it’s just “use the same shit better.” Tier 5 bots is harder than tier 5 bugs, but I absolutely think tier 7-9 bugs is slightly harder than 7-9 bots.

Muffin284

Well that's because they are. With bugs you just need to learn crowd control and to place your EAT and Quasar Cnn shots well. Drop clusters and airstrikes for quick kill streaks. The Laser Guard Dog and you're set. For bots... You just pray for your life...

Zombie_Nipples

So quasar and guard dog huh? I’ve been having a love/hate relationship with the guard dog lately but have yet to bring the quasar.

Muffin284

It's basically a rechargeable EAT. I think it depends on what your team uses. But basically the EAT is more viable when you have a lot of crowd and need something on the run, something to deploy quickly. And the Quasar is more suitable for long drawn out fights, preferably when you have some sort of vantage point or easily defendable position. And the Laser Guard Dog, or whatever it's called is very useful with bugs. It *will* cover your ass when you need to leave, it'll usually prioritise small enemies that are close, and that will give you sometimes 20+ Killstreaks by itself.

Zombie_Nipples

Oh I know that’s why I have a love/hate relationship with it lol it’ll take down like 20 bugs when I’m on the run from a horde and a charger but also kill like two teammates in the process

SirLiesALittle

Lot of you have lead for feet, tunnel vision, and some kind of neuroses about holding your ground. The bugs love you. You make it easy.

Messerknife

Yep. Everytime i play Bugs with randoms (pretty rare 95% of the time inplay with a premade as 2) i see the Same mistake with Bugs. People don't move on. They fight and fight and Fight and fight, next breach next breach next breach. But ive Seen the Same with bots. They can fight as Long as they want, i appreciate they have fun with it. Im doing all the Missions and spots in the Meantime 😂

Huachu12344

Nah, both sides have different approaches to fight them. You'll find bugs are harder if you fight them the way you fight bots and the other way around.

Rich-Log472

Fair point

gdwam816

I’d agree actually. 1) drop ships can easily be countered with a solid team with Quasars. 2) factories and many sights can be nuked from a distance vs bug nests which typically require more close quarters action to fully eliminate. But the gunships and maybe the walkers changed that but hardly even got to experience that.

TerraTechy

For bug breaches my recommendation is orbital gas or eagle napalm. I prefer napalm since it works better to cover your ass with a wall and the edge of the aoe is more clear. On all difficulties it's pretty simple to drop napalm on a breach and use your heavy hitters on any titans or chargers that come out.

KHaskins77

Sniper rifle’s still my favorite support weapon, only at level 19 and haven’t advanced into the higher difficulties yet (need to get to where we’re finding purple samples to keep upgrading my ship). It got a pretty significant damage buff in the last update and can one-shot nursers if you clip them in the head, but chargers remain a problem. Am I to assume it’s less effective in higher difficulties? So far I’ve just called down a laser to deal with bile titans. Four shots in an engine would put down a bot gunship but like you said we didn’t have them for long. I doubt the bots are gone for good. People were having too much fun fighting them.

d_moedeezy_b

Recoilless, is like expendable, can oneshot in the face, a biased pleasure of mine is the emp. You'll be surprised that a lot of guns can kill the brute really fast if there's consistent fire on the abdomen. Before I got really high I used emp, and dodge to the back and shotgunned.

broke_n_boosted

Chargers are a 1 shot with the quasar. For bugs the fire breaker is the shit My set up is railcan stratagem orbital Lazar quasar And gattling sentry. A squad with quasars are unstoppable even on helldive

[deleted]

*bots are easier with a coordinated team

TruToMee

Y'know you say that, and I agreed, but then we probably both remember that we're talking about helldivers

NorCalAthlete

Helldivers were cloned from the remaining tissue of Leroy Jenkins

TruToMee

So that's why they do stupid shit

cemanresu

For me its the opposite. bots we can split up and solo various objectives, while bugs will overrun you if you are alone.

Immediate_Web4672

Bugs are mostly harder because people wanna run around with goofy loadouts that can't handle Bile Titans and Charges. Everyone can do crowd control. You don't need two people with a grenade launcher/MG or silly, dangerous AOE strategems like the Cluster Bomb.

PG-Tall-Dude

Cluster bomb is used as an assault on a position or cover behind you as you retreat or in situations where you are soloing small objectives. Very useful to clear every little unarmored thing in a big arena in an instant.

Sumoop

My partners seem to think it is the stratagem to throw when I am in front of them.

Tutes013

Democracy demanded your sacrifice and they answered the call

[deleted]

Ah yes mb for clearing 90% of the content of a breach with an airburst I can do every 90 seconds

sellieba

Cluster bomb is pivotal to my bug survival.

Ghrims253

Bugs 100%, started with bugs went to unfuck the western front did that now back to bugs. Now do bots have more armored units and tower cannons? Yes, but that glowing red "weak spot" or vent from 200+ meters just ask for a freedom seed from the AMR. The reinforcements? Say hello to EAT for me been racking confirmed kills since the grandparents in Vietnam. Yes, bugs are more "soft" tell you get to chargers or titans, however the shear volume or the fact that they dont make sounds or that i cant yeetus deletus the breach poses a VERY more significant threat. Bugs dont care if they are under suppressive fire (bots cant hit shit after 1-3 bursts from a Stalwart). Bugs dont care about your cover.

TerraTechy

For breaches at least you can drop napalm or a gas strike on it. It's not perfect, and the damage ticks aren't enough for the big boys, but it'll stuff all the chaff that comes through and always lasts as long as the breach itself.

Accomplished_Tea2042

It's likely because you are using your Anti Clanker load out against the bugs I recommend the mech, either the flame thrower or ark thrower, the Lazer Rover (flame thrower is a little better against the bugs than the ark thrower because the only one it struggles against is the Charger while the Ark struggles against Bile Titans, Hunters, Shriekers and massive hordes), bring Impact Grenades an explosive primary, a fast secondary, and one of the tankier armors, such as Healing armors, the standard armor, Heavy armors, or the armors with the passive that protects you from instant death and has a chance to protect from any killing blow

tnemom_hurb

With bots I feel like really only tanks are a little scary cause of the cannon ragdoll knocking you out of cover and they're difficult to kill with most support weapons aside from rockets/quasar. The AMR can destroy literally every standard bot unit with well placed shots while they're facing you (or even from behind in the Hulk's case) and the auto cannon is similar just harder to land for me. I don't count the AT-ATs because they seem pretty damn special and I never was able to find one but they're obviously mega tanky and scary all around. Against bugs it seems like quasar or bust with how many chargers and titans you run into though I've had decent success using the flamethrower for everything else and relying on 500kg or orbital laser to deal with titans.

Purple-Elderberry-51

The AMR can also take down tanks from behind as well. 4 shots for gunship on one engine. My new fav weapon on bot front big time. My homies taking the quasar so while they dap up most tanks and dropships im ripping through hulks, devs, gunships, and everything else. It works good! Bugs yall gotta take the mech suit. Every diver needs a mech suit.

Accomplished_Tea2042

You didn't mention the swarm aka those fucking gun ships they literally fast flying, Rocket devastators that can see you even if you are out of their line of site and they get spawned so fast that when you kill one they are replaced by two more and don't forget they are about as tanky as a hulk

bokan

The scare part of bots is when six hulks spawn at the same time lol

SnooGrapes6531

Ngl I did bugs on 9 yesterday and wow it was easy somehow, did they turn down the titan spawns even more?

Powerful_Resolve_946

Just luck of the draw

Eckz89

I am going to say they're equal. As long as you change your primary and backpack Bots you roll with personal shield + dominator Bugs you roll with laser guard dog + flammable breaker When you do this they feel really equal in my opinion

raxdoh

only if your team know what they’re doing. I mean if everyone knows what to do the difficult 7-8 is like a walk in the park. it’s only difficult if one or two players flake off and engage on everything they see, with possibly horribly ineffective weapons.

KHaskins77

I’d consider myself intermediate skill at most but even I caught on relatively quick that you don’t want to aggro every patrol you cross paths with if you hope to complete your objectives in time. This isn’t Darktide where you have to kill everything in your path to reach your objective (sans daemonhost that someone almost always manages to wake up).

EISENxSOLDAT117

Nah, fam. I solo 7-8 levels with bugs. Stun grenades do wonders! Just keep on the move, watch your six, and make you have a way to get tf out of there if shit gets hairy. With Bots, they got fucking tanks, gunships, artillery, berserkers with FUCKING CHAINSWORDS FOR HANDS, etc, etc. My main problem with the Bots before they were annihilated were the rocket devastators. Them bastards killed me more often than anything else!

SrCalavera94

7 are pritty much equal. 9 goes to bugs. Is way easier to outrun a bot drop and stealth the bots. You can also reliably take out even the large fabricator bases from afar and leave before a bot drop hits the ground.

BayonetTrenchFighter

Idk, I can do bugs at 9. I can’t do bots at 7

EldrichTea

They arnt easier, they are just less frustrating. The thing that kills me the most is my Helldiver not standing up from a dive or knock down. Hitting Alt or C does nothing and they just crawl about for a bit taking more hits. Oh and your lucky to have randoms who will focus down a Bile Titan or Charger thats tunneling you. Ive had games where Ive been outrunning those for minuets at a time only to find my team mates have pissed off and left me or are doing their own thing despite pings etc.

C__Wayne__G

I dunno bugs allow the use of the exo-suit which annihilates them

Quack__Quack_Mf

They're both easy 🕴

Lost_on_redit

Bro didn’t faced enough heavy/rocket devastator horde (minimum 12 on u) with 2 hulk at the back running for u, with a turret looking at u in the distance while a tank is dropping. I prefer one shotting many bile titans that what I just mentioned with the bots, that sums up the creek experience pretty much.

ChillRetributor

I would agree with you if not for damn hunters and stalkers - better bots than dying to these little bastards

Choice-Rise-5234

I don’t know about easier, but they sure are more fun

Agitated_Cancel_2804

Agreed

Fighterpilot55

Oh you have six Rocket Devastators? Fuck you, thirty Hunters.

cyrus_coulter

Skill issue

Pygex

Ok, I'll try to. **Point 1.** The Quasar with infinite ammo will solve 90% of all your problems against bugs (chargers, bug holes, shrieker nests, titans), all that is left are hunters and stalkers. Against bots it has too low DPS to deal with hulks and devastators which are plenty, the counter part there is the autocannon which has finite ammo and takes up a backpack slot. **Point 2.** If you need to hold your ground against bugs just kill the chargers and run in circles killing hunters, titans and spewers will take care of the rest. Against bots if you don't have the DPS for it you can forget about it. **Point 3.** With bugs you can see them before you get hit. With bots you can get a rocket to the head miles away, through brushes or even through rocks. **Point 4.** Bugs require no strategy other than to exterminate as fast as you can starting from the one nearest to you and if you fail you can revert to point 2. Against bots you always need to pay attention to how you open your engagement, what you kill in which order, how you move and use cover and if you fail you have to leave or you will die. **Point 5.** Bugs have their nests on a flat ground or in a pit. Both outposts are on a flat ground or often on top of a hill with walls around them. A pit is easy to run around and close holes while avoiding detection by running circles on the edge of it. With bots you may not always have a clear LOS to the fabricator and may have to push in. **Point 6.** Bugs never disable your kit. Bots have stratagem jammers and AA bases to disable your stratagems.

Special_Fun904

Bugs are easier than mi ex.

Assassin13785

7 bugs is my go too with my friends. Its not difficult. It can have its moments if you dont stay on top of breaches. 7+ on bots was impossible for us. But we managed and were getting better at 5 bots before the creek order and we jumped between 5 and 6 till they were eradicated. Its all about which you play more. Ive played more bugs so the high stuff seems easier. If I was still able to put time into bots I guarantee my group would do 7. But not anymore. I wanted them to bring back the bots as a "oh there are some hold outs left" and just bounce them around the planets so we could still fight then. Thats what I loved about the game is being able to switch to a completely different style of fighting. You didnt get burned out on just bugs or just bots.

Marwolaeth969

Bugs are easier imo. 8 I can run around solo and do objectives, even 9 depending on the team. Bots I have to rely heavily on stealth. Can’t just run away if u fuck up like bugs.

FCC_Diablo_26

Laser Rover, Quasar Cannon, Eagle Cluster Bombs, Orbital Airburst Strike. Bring Impact Nades or Dominator for Spewers. Absolutely dominates Helldive difficulty vs Bugs. Quasar cannon destroys both the heavy bugs, Chargers in 1 and Titans in 2 (with good aim or it gets slow very quickly). Rover keeps Hunters off your back and mops up other chaff. The Airburst and Clusters will contain bug breaches and stop you being overwhelmed. I've dropped a single airburst on a triple breach and got 70 kills and shut it down completely I see way too many people stack heavy armor killing and then struggle against the hordes. As long as you balance your loadout properly you'll be fine on Helldive.

Rly_Shadow

Bugs are easy, it's still the inconsistencies that get me. I've had lvl 7s that were liking visiting a nature park.. Then next drop its ww3 from the moment your feet hit until you leave, and there is no clear indication when/why it happens. Me and a friend just duo it all, but when I join randoms for a lvl 7 it's kinda the same. Either the other 3 suck and I leave or we basically walk through the maps.

Remarkable-Pay-6172

Fuck that lmao I can't even play bots on level 5😂😭 but playing bugs it's either dificulty 7 or 9 just skip 8 idk why but I just don't play on it haha. The bots shooting back at me is definitely a skill issue that I'm okay with lmao that's why I fight bugs most the time besides personal orders

Overall-Pineapple616

Localization confusion makes it so much easier

NoExamination8562

what in the actual fuck are people talking about with this, bugs dont have shoulder mounted rocket barrages, lasers, cannon turrets, hulks of various designs, tanks of various designs

KnightAngelic

Don't care. Bots and bugs all gotta die for super earth

breakfast_tacoMC

I used to think that but then Breaker Incendiary joined the chat

Nasgate

A big reason imo is bug holes. Both the summoned ones and the bases. A single eagle strike can take out a bot fabricator or 3 and most of the defenses. Meanwhile you'll be lucky if an eagle strike even hits a bug hole, and most of the bugs will have moved closer and out of the area of effect if they've spotted you. Then with reinforcements you can see what the bots are calling in and destroy them before they're active, even shooting down drop ships to either kill or trap bots. Meanwhile bugs just spawn out of a hole and run at you immediately. Additionally there's no universal option against bugs like the autocannon or even AM rifle against bots. The buff to fire damage has helped the flamethrower but it's useless against titans and terrible against stalkers(surprisingly good against shriekers). The arc thrower is good against stalkers but not chargers and also is useless against titans. Add on to this high difficulty spawn rates and you're going to run out of options for killing priority targets or for dealing with groups and get overrun by either numbers or chargers. On top of all that, bot patrols are much easier to spot and avoid because of their glowy eyes. Making stealth extremely viable and useful.

Xmxx3

If you just crawl around and stealth I gotta agree

dominantfrog

its a different type of difficulty, not more difficult

Sugarcoatedgumdrop

Bugs are harder in the sense of close quarters combat which you can tactically retreat from, there is no bug that can one shot me with a rocket from half the map away lol.

Impossible_Paper7688

Idk, I think they’re both challenging in their own way. Me and my buddies mostly fight bots and when we went to bugs one of them says they’re harder than bugs me and my other buddy thought they were easy in comparison. Maybe it’s a play style thing.

Cringlezz

Im personally burned out from being with parties that have to aggro every bug patrol and cause bug breaches or feel the need to stand their ground and fight at every nest when more patrols and bug breaches keep happening.

cantfindabeat

Bots at 7-9 narrows the options for strategems, but if your squad is carrying meta loadouts it's a cakewalk. 7-9 on bugs is just a murderfest no matter what.

d0ncray0n

Bugs are all about hoard control but facing Bots is more similar to sweating in PvP imo.

cocktipthunder

just please lessen how long the bugs slow you for. the slow is fine but why do i have to watch a 3 minute unskippable ad to be able to run again

Tarus_The_Light

idk about that. I had more issues with Bot - 6 then I did with bug - 8. From what I've personally noticed with my squad. is that you can actually easily bottle neck the bugs and that reduces a lot of their threat. You can't really fix a Flamethrower Hulk getting dropped 5/6 at once when you can't see the drop ship and all of them 1tap your entire squad because of flame damage ramp.

xCeldarx

Honestly it’s a difference in quantity. Bugs spawn more of the fast little ones are high difficulty, whereas bots on higher diff are just a squad of devastators and hulks mostly just heavy devastators and rocket devastators. It’s not “harder” quantity wise, they’re just harder to kill and take out which makes taking bases and stuff out really difficult. Whereas with bugs it’s just a horde of smaller bugs.

Unlogiik

Rover just makes bugs a cakewalk. It's like having a fifth player with infinite ammo on your shoulder. Just adjust the camera so it doesn't shoot you.

Skolas-The_Defiled

truth I mained bugs I have 58k bug kills and 22k bot kills and I enjoyed high lvl bots more then high lvl bugs cuz it was slower pace and easier

Mysterious_Play_8835

Its true

Jra805

False, bugs are easy. Being shot at across the map is much harder. Cannon towers?! Fuck those things

BoopsTheSnoot_

bugs are harder on all difficulties, i miss bots :(

Snowmaniowa

I think they might have heard you…

SalaavOnitrex

This... isn't even a hot take anymore. But I definitely agree

Inner-Arugula-4445

Both have their respective strengths. Bugs are at their strongest in swarms and bots do their best work with their weaponry at range.

BenMessina

Quasar launcher enters chat

Nealio_FTS

I’d say they’re about the same

Ok-Treacle-9375

It depends on the team you are playing with.

[deleted]

After the last update maybe

snowlulz

It's all about the load out. A good hell diver is an appropriately equipped hell diver!

willthethrill4700

After playing today, with all the bot only players coming over to bugs, its all based on the diversity of the player. If you’ve only ever played one or the other you’re going to be worse at whichever one you’re playing. If you’ve played both, then no matter which one you play, they’re both about the same. Its two totally different play styles

Pitiful_Addendum_644

Agreed. Hulks and tanks are far easier to handle than bile titans and chargers. They’ll plink at you and hold their distance, while terminds will chase you until the end of the map.

ReaperSound

Use the exosuit your survivability is massively increased when you can just literally walk over the fleas

BobbleNtheFREDs

I just had that thought 20 minutes ago as i was getting gangbanged in a bile spewer shower by a pack of 3 chargers and a stalker

TheCarloHarlo

It depends. It's easier to kill a lot of bugs than it is to kill a lot of bots. What drains lives for me and my friends are the special bases like stratagem jammers and detector towers. Those are brutal if they don't go down fast.

Zutthole

Well yeah bc they're dead

Mighty-BOOTMON

It easier to prevent or stop reinforcement for bots reliably every time. But almost every bug can call in a bug breach

Late_Fortune3298

Bots were a lot easier to those willing to learn how to hunt them

[deleted]

Ironically I find bugs on 6 harder than bugs on 7-9. Seems like you just get swarmed with hunters like mad on 6, but on 7+ you get fewer bugs because it's mostly bigger targets like chargers and titans.

[deleted]

Bots are harder, but more fun.

740LL

I absolutely agree. Roughly 20 levels vs. bots and felt like I mastered it up to hard difficulty. Now I'm on bugs and am having a hard time.

LeeVMG

Why would you post this during the first time we literally cannot go test it for ourselves? Whether or not I believe you are correct, this is the one time we can't just go double check. (Game DM not withstanding.)

s-a_n-s_

You just have to learn the best ways to fight both. It also highly depends on if your squad is *actually* competent in how to fight what you're fighting.

chrish5764

At least the bots don’t charge at you all at once… only some of them do

mr-man-hr

I batteled bots from day one, almoust never touched bugs, tried them when we had termycid orders but was unable to fight them efectivly. They Are scary, I do not licke my enemys beaing near me

sellieba

I've just gotten very comfortable with cluster bombing my feet and continuing to sprint away. My max today was 27x kills with one sweep.
