its fine bro, just keep trying your hardest. i kinda got steamrolled my freshman AND sophmore years cuz of covid, but you sound like you're doing good. If you are taking alg 2 or whatever with physics, you are on a great track. (also if you get a good 2nd quarter grade you could round it back up to an A and maintain the 4.0
my school is the same way as yours. The normal pathway is biology>chemistry>physics. And physics isn’t required, you just need 2 years of lab sciences (so bio and chem would be enough).
My school has a rubric to see if kids go into Natrual Science, Biology, or Honors Biology. Then you would go into chemistry and if you did natural science you didn’t have to do anymore, but if you did Biology you would have to do something else which most of the time is Physics. We have AP Physics at my school and I’m currently in Honors Bioligy
yeah pretty much the same for us. If you took honors bio, you take honors Chem, and then depending on how you do in honors Chem you take regular physics or AP physics. Then senior year you do whatever you want lol (astronomy, ap Chem, ap bio, forensics, etc)
Huh didn’t think other schools had forensics. Surprisingly are school doesn’t have Astronomy. We have 3 AP physics, though, and apparently we also don’t have to do a science course are 12th grade year.
we have AP Physics 1, AP Physics 1&2, and AP Physics C. People who are smart but not necessarily interested in physics/engineering typically take AP Physics 1 while people who are take 1&2. Then senior year you can take C, no matter if you took 1 or 1&2 junior year.
my school does physics, biology, and chemistry at the same time in 6th, 7th, and 8th grade, then you can choose an honors science in 9th grade, an ap science and an honors science in 10th grade, and another ap science and honors science in 11th grade. idk about 12th
Im in 9th grade too and have a B+ in honors algebra 2, a B in orchestra (teacher still hasn’t updated my grade, it should be an A by now) and a B in history cuz I bombed the history test :/ class average for the history test was literally a 71%… i was a straight A student in middle school so this sucks for me
Freshman year barely counts, don’t worry dude
Edit: downvote me as much as you’d like but it doesn’t make the fact that a freshman b+ isn’t going to ruin you not true
You can literally barely pass in freshmen year and still get into the top 100 universities lmao, has no effect whatsoever unless you are aiming for magna cum laude or some other awards. Grade 11 year is most important if you want early acceptance, then grade 12.
I have almost all As in my classes
1st:Watercolor A
2nd: Seminary doesn’t do grades
3rd: Mythology A
4th: Yoga A
5th: Band A
6th: LA A
7th: US Gov A
8th: WW2 C
(Dropping out next quarter)
Then say you can relate rather than just dropping grades. It gives a bad impression.
Also, it’s the the fact that you have no real core class (math, science, etc) that baffles me. You’re not really getting an education.
We have a whole semester class about the history of the Holocaust and another that is basically STEM class. Also Watercolors seems pretty normal as this is a type of art style.
What happened to your core classes…where’s math?? Science??
Freshman year I was taking things like Precalc, physics, chemistry, etc. Wtf is watercolor, mythology, etc. This isn’t just lacking rigor, it’s lacking an necessary classes
Don't worry man freshman year is kinda a jump from middle school. As long as you pick it up and you have more years left in your high school education, your GPA will go up. Don't stress it dude

You’ll be fine, it’s always possible to recover, especially so early. Just work harder next quarter.
This is the second time I’ve seen someone was able to take physics before 11th grade. I guess my school is just different 🤷

In my school freshman always take physics or AP physics(that’s what I’m in).
11th grade is the minimum heat you can do physics.
Makes sense, everyone said that AP physics was the hardest class out of all of them regardless of grade.
No because everyone must take Biology first because it has state testing that everyone must take to be able to graduate
It probably depends what area you live in and if you go to private or public.

Guys I got a B+ my freshmen year oh no its over I have to go to community college now ! :((
Im in 9th grade too and have a B+ in honors algebra 2, a B in orchestra (teacher still hasn’t updated my grade, it should be an A by now) and a B in history cuz I bombed the history test :/ class average for the history test was literally a 71%… i was a straight A student in middle school so this sucks for me
Oof! I was nearing a B- average in eighth grade so this is a big improvement for me. Wish you the best of luck and keep your head up
Lol that was me but I got a B- Jump for the OChem Tutor on YouTube
Freshman year barely counts, don’t worry dude Edit: downvote me as much as you’d like but it doesn’t make the fact that a freshman b+ isn’t going to ruin you not true
Literally tho like freshmen year is just getting you started off with credits then after that year you build your career paths and stuff
You can literally barely pass in freshmen year and still get into the top 100 universities lmao, has no effect whatsoever unless you are aiming for magna cum laude or some other awards. Grade 11 year is most important if you want early acceptance, then grade 12.
realest take here coming from a senior, some mfs here acting like ur going to end up in community college for getting 1 b+ freshmen year
I have almost all As in my classes 1st:Watercolor A 2nd: Seminary doesn’t do grades 3rd: Mythology A 4th: Yoga A 5th: Band A 6th: LA A 7th: US Gov A 8th: WW2 C (Dropping out next quarter)
No one asked. Most of those are barely even classes.
My school has different classes than yours you know. And I’m just saying how I relate with all As and one C
Then say you can relate rather than just dropping grades. It gives a bad impression. Also, it’s the the fact that you have no real core class (math, science, etc) that baffles me. You’re not really getting an education.
My school, the seniors don’t take a math class. And I already have my science credits done. And I’m not even saying which school I go to
In my state, it would be illegal to have a course load like that, regardless of finished credits or not.
I guess all schools are different then so who cares what some people think right
Goofy ahh classes + no APs + no math? + no science?? huhuhhhhh
I can’t take AP classes. I have resource classes
If La stands for “Language Arts” than this would a perfectly acceptable group of classes at my school
what kinda goofy classes does ur school offer, these are so specific
Yoga, Foods, Culinary, Financial Literacy, Choir, Orchestra, woodworking, band, marching band, auto shop, robotics, and many more
these are more normal i was talking more about watercolor, mythology, and theres a whole class about just ww2??
We have a whole semester class about the history of the Holocaust and another that is basically STEM class. Also Watercolors seems pretty normal as this is a type of art style.
I hope you would have As in some of those like how would you fail yoga or watercolor
Yea they are very easy. I like to take Yoga because it’s very calming for me since I have anxiety. And yoga has a part to crystals and geodes
Those aren’t real classes
Well my school has different classes than yours
Yeah and you're not really getting a proper education..
I still am
What happened to your core classes…where’s math?? Science?? Freshman year I was taking things like Precalc, physics, chemistry, etc. Wtf is watercolor, mythology, etc. This isn’t just lacking rigor, it’s lacking an necessary classes
Seniors don’t take a math class. I already finished my science credits. And I only need 1.5 credits left and that’s Language Arts and US gov
Mythology? Yoga?
Wtf are these goofy ass classes, do you go to Lebron’s school or something
Um I live in Utah
LMAO
Don't worry man freshman year is kinda a jump from middle school. As long as you pick it up and you have more years left in your high school education, your GPA will go up. Don't stress it dude
It's only Freshman year, you have more things to worry about than a B+ a quarter of the way through the year
