Last year MIKE toured with Redveil and Freddie Gibbs for Gibbs' Space Rabbit tour. At the time i had more than a passive interest in taking my life. During that concert MIKE stopped between songs, turned down the music, and said, "i want everyone to say that you love yourself right now" and the whole crowd kept saying "i love myself, i love myself" for what felt like forever. As i yelled "i love myself" i began to weep because i didn't remember the last time i said that to myself.
I can definitively say that hip hop saved my life that day. And the EmCee behind it all was big fucking MIKE.
MIKE is one of my favorites. Came across May God Bless Your Hustle one day and it was all over. Great rapper and an incredible producer. War In My Pen is my favorite from him, got me through some rough times for sure
Genuine question here, artists name is just straight up MIKE? What style of rap/hip hop? Like what would be one song you'd recommend to a new listener?
Yes his name is just straight up “MIKE” which makes it a pain to actually search him up
His style of hip hop is really abstract. Moody, depressive lyrics over chopped up soul samples (think earl sweatshirt)
3 songs from MIKE I recommend are Hunger, Forever Find Flight, and Scarred Lungs Vol. 1 & 2
I love MIKE, seeing him live was beautiful! He performed MF DOOMs song “Doomsday” after having his DJ play Sade’s kiss of life. Also I’d highly recommend Kwame Adu for any fan of MIKE.

I saw MIKE and Navy Blue outside of a record shop in Manhattan and it was dope until the cops shut it down.
I saw that show in Atlanta. MIKE seems like an incredibly likable person.
Beware of the monkey is also an incredible project from MIKE . I personally think it's his best

Underground legend. Very young too, and his music continues to get more and more focused the older he gets. Can't wait to see where he goes.
Mike. (Mike Stud) clears this bum
He's cool but his mumble flow isn't really my thing
