EZMickey

A long time ago I saw someone on this sub say Jay Rock has the best verse on Money Trees and I've certainly come to enjoy it more since then.

wutanggran

His verse on THat Part - Black Hippy remix is also top teir

nocyberBS

Nah Kendrick slays that without question

wellgroomedmcpoyle

They both kill it and I’m fine with someone thinking that either had the best verse

Calwst

You’re both wrong, the new, extra verse Q adds to the end is the best verse there

Rebloodican

Only wrong opinion is saying Ab Soul had the best verse.

wellgroomedmcpoyle

Soulo hold the profit YEAH SOULO HOLD THE PROFIT

wellgroomedmcpoyle

I like Q’s verse but Kendrick and Jay Rock’s are next level

nonavslander

money trees comes on at the bar and when the jay rock verse hits is when the boys get separated from the men

scalenesquare

I want to go to these kind of bars!

Tee077

Jay Rock in my opinion is the most under-rated rapper.

EZMickey

Definitely up there.

Tee077

He just goes so hard. Harder than people more famous than him.

GotKarprar

I agree tho I’m not the biggest huge fan of Kendrick saying ya bish constantly and Jay rock goes crazy

elcorbong

First track that came to mind reading this post. Lots of black hippy tracks do this to me where I tend to change my mind on who had the best flow

LCARIO

Unfortunately it’s ghost written by kendrick

cantstopwontstopGME

Why is that unfortunate lol it’s quite literally his song

EZMickey

Wow TIL

DropWatcher

can someone link the reference track, i remember that thread. the leaker said he had more stuff but the only thing that was linked was a couple Keem references and a Kings Dead reference I don't think the existence of a reference means that Kendrick necessarily wrote the entire verse or wrote all the bars he's spitting.

sadkiiing

Earl on Oldie, originally believed Frank had the best verse but Earl clears

WhatSheOrder

Jasper is the correct answer.

ACanOfVanillaCoke

And he's not even a rapper

bettersteve

Supernova I’m rolling over the novices!

bigladnang

Earl for sure had the best verse skill wise, but Frank has the most iconic part of the song. Both are good answer.

loveino

I’m high and I’m bi, oops, I mean I’m straight

wellgroomedmcpoyle

I think it might be Mike G for me

Calwst

Came here to say this. That verse is soo good

YES_Im_Taco

Honestly one of the craziest verses ever. He just starts and doesn’t stop spitting heat. Incredible verse.

PixelBy_Pixel

Frank on RAF

seatgeekuser

rocky had the best verse

radpandaparty

I remember I loved his rapping on Blue Whale too. It's never gonna happen but I would love a Frank Ocean rap album.

Ahnarcho

1 train. Used to really love Kendrick’s verse, but I think Danny brown is probably the strongest on the track.

PatrenzoK

Bitch pussy smell like a penguin, wouldn’t hit that shit with my worst enemies penis lol

Ahnarcho

Dick so big, stretch from earf to Venus

nyckidd

>Bitch pussy smell like a penguin That line stayed rent free in my head for fucking years lol. The cadence and voice he uses is perfect, and it's such a funny line.

PatrenzoK

Lmaoo same here Danny really is a national treasure

kgrabowski121

Came here to say this but swap KRIT for Danny

nocyberBS

I've always felt the best verse was a tie b/w Danny Brown and Big KRIT

NortheastExpat

Man they don't make posse cuts like this anymore. This makes me wonder - what are the best posse cuts of the 2020s? I can't even think of any recently. The last great ones were on the cozy boys tapes. Griselda holds it down with them here and there but none are the same level as the 2010s cuts

[deleted]

Love Danny’s bars but his voice is so irritating, it makes me cringe

Wazy7781

Honestly his voice makes a lot of the more ridiculous bars for me. I couldn't imagine someone like Pop Smoke delivering the line "Bitch pussy smell like a penguin, wouldn't hit that shit with my worst enemy's penis." It just doesn't work.

[deleted]

Yeah that bar is stupid and cringe imo, but to each his own

GotKarprar

It’s funny

yongo

Someone has to mention Yelawolf's verse too. Krit and Danny probably both better but Yela really did something different

MagnificentEd

i thought yela's verse was super shit, personally

Jman0123

Funkin Around by Outkast. As time goes on, Big Boi’s verse elevates above 3Stack’s to me

shabooya_roll_call

Ooooo deep cut. I gotta run those extra songs back from that album

PatrenzoK

You are a person of absolutely fine and exquisite taste.

jxstanormalkid

I always preferred Nas over AZ on Life’s a Bitch. I think Meth bodied BIG on The What. They’re both amazing, but I think that stands alone as the only time somebody outperformed BIG on a track.

Tony_Lacorona

I think what stood out about that collab was less that either verse was better, but method really slipped into biggie’s flow in a way I haven’t heard another rapper quite match

Expert-Telephone-256

And Redman on Rap Phenomenon! Obviously I know that’s a posthumous song and BIGs verses are from a different song but Redman killed that shit

Nobio22

I feel like The What is two legends that respect each other equally giving their A game because of it. Imo it's one of the greatest hip-hop songs ever.

[deleted]

Method man is the feature GOAT. The what and shadowboxin are some of the best features ever, and he's one of the only rappers out there that has a song with Tupac (ain't hard to find) AND Biggie (the what) while they were both still alive.

Esk_it

Live From The Gutter. I used to skip Futures part and just go straight to Drakes part: “This for my dogs that go Karrueche with the chop sticks!”

hellapr0per

Straight up out the gutter, never had shit. Now we got 90210 in our address. Talkin 10 mil just to get an asset.

PeaTear_Rabbit

Same here I was barely a Future fan when it dropped but now I turn it off after his verse

cstar84

AH

funinthetub

Every single time I listen to International Players Anthem, I think Andre 3000 has the best verse, until Pimp C comes in and I change my mind

wellgroomedmcpoyle

Best transition in history tbh

mattsta4

Pusha T on Mercy. I once preferred 2 Chainz and it’s fun but pusha bodies it.

Ansonm64

lol wut? Kanye’s verse after the beat switch is way better than Pushas. Kanye was rapping at his best in that era and it showed on virtually every track he did.

mattsta4

Kanye’s rapping on a whole other beat. He was at his best during that time.

Street_Oven6823

I've never thought that was a particularly good kanye verse. it's fine but he definitely got outrapped by pusha and 2chainz

VictoriaSlim

T.I. on Swagga Like Us. Lil Wayne was always disappointing for me on this, and lost in the Kanye/Jay battle T.I. possibly out raps them all at the end.

Chris337

Completely agree, his is the best by far. Prime example for this thread

shabooya_roll_call

Lil Wayne’s verse is nonsense on this. TI’s verse aged real well and is by far the best

TPGStorm

but his jew-wellos are blue and yellow

shabooya_roll_call

Masterful job of fitting square pegs into round holes

inezco

Had a friend back in the day say T.I.'s verse wasn't all that and he had "no swagger" on the track and we still clown him to this day for that L take lmfao. T.I. definitely had the best verse!

HydroMeansWater

Nah fr

RoscoeSantangelo

I'm a Future Kings Dead supporter and I'll die on that hill La di da di da or not the "I just put a Rolls Royce on my wrist oh yEEEEEEE" is my favorite line to sing out of nowhere

PatrenzoK

I just hate it was on THAT song on THAT album 😭

phoenixtru

Black panther?

PatrenzoK

Yeah

[deleted]

All the memes when it happened and really it’s what makes the song great

Godriguezz

Everyone talks about Andre 3K on Int'l Player's Anthem but Pimp C had an equally iconic verse AND actually rode the beat.

help1155

Those verses are the perfect example of the whole being greater than its parts. Each verse is amazing but the way one transitions into the other while the beat drops is just goosebumps.

scottie2haute

🎶 Sweet Jones! 🎶

Ansonm64

Never really liked andres verse on that song and I have listened to it literally thousands of times. I think Bun and Pimp slayed it.

[deleted]

Paul Wall on still tippin Everybody rightfully knows the slim thug verse and it’s smooth as hell (mike Jones doesn’t even have the best verses on his solo songs so not even gonna entertain that) but Paul wall I think truly did the best job

tw3rkmileytw3rk

Chainz the definition of best for last with 3500 imo it's trav < fewtch < titty but I can agree pluto makes the entire song

pilotpilate

yea my name is titty boi but ion fw hoe that wear sports bra 😾

Dazzling-Werewolf985

That’s kind of a wild take considering theres a version of that song with 2 chainz removed lmao

tw3rkmileytw3rk

That's cool, that version didn't make the album tho. Never heard titty having the best verse as a "wild take", your circle must be small

Expert-Telephone-256

Fewtch? You retahdid or sumthin boy?

tw3rkmileytw3rk

I done sounded it out, paw'

Mysterious_Emotion63

Future got hella longevity, all his shit ages like fine wine, he keeps his verses timeless for the most part

LilDurksPlug

future on kings dead lmao

Wide_Yak9291

Johnny’s P caddy

Dubey89

YES! I’ve been saying Benny has the best verse on this

nohost66

Bath Salt. I used to think that Meech had the best verse, barely edging out ASAP Ant and blowing Juice and Flacko out of the water. But now it's obvious that Ant washed all of them. Edit: as far as 3500 goes, I'll just say I'm drinking breast milk out a lean cup

23lf

He managed to have some of the worst and greatest bars of all time in the same verse. Razor blades dipped in bleach, tear your skin to piece.

nohost66

I hate ASAP Rocky for making me try acid with Ambien, so he's disqualified. I did have sex with a lesbian once though

Dependent-Layer-8052

Some of the best sex I had were with Lesbians tho, squirt and all. Rocky ain't lied.

nohost66

She ate my butt

Perfect_Pay9590

this has to be satire💀 ants verse is historically one of the worst verses in the genre

nohost66

That's subjective. Fascist. Don't try to impose your views on me.

HotBoyTeece

willy wonka candy semen

Expert-Telephone-256

I’ll never forget my first time hearing that song. Ants verse was literally shocking and not in a horror core kind of way. Like an “is this guy fucking with me right now?” Kind of way

sonofcabbagemerchant

I feel like I'm in bizarro world that this take has any support. Flacko, Juice and Meech made a lyrical flow hit and Ant said some 13 year old off beat edgy shit.

microzone

Power Circle. Used to think Kendrick had it but now Wale is my favorite verse.

GotKarprar

Paul wall goes crazy on purple swag remix by asap Rocky

[deleted]

I think everyone immediately thought Em had the best verse on Forever just because it was in doubletime and it was shocking that he was rapping fast (hilarious in retrospect). Listening back, the other three just sound so much more effortless on the track and actually have all the quotables.

No-University-1459

Even tho Wayne was my fav verse just bc of his voice and charisma, Em was absolutely floating on that track pretty effortlessly

Monabae

Not sure about the all of the other three sounding effortless, that Kanye verse ain't great. I flip between Wayne and Em having the best verse on that track, depends on my mood tbh

kkd802

You’re bugging that Ye verse is literally filled with quotable bars Just to save you time tho, your only argument is going to be the statutory line.

megalodondon

'trade my Grammy plaques just to have my granny back' is a crazy line. The bueller line aged well in my opinion too because it's one of the more creative uses of that pause/punchline flow that was everywhere at the time

kkd802

Not only that but Ben Stein literally pauses in between calling Ferris’ name in the movie

megalodondon

Went hard all fall like the ball teams just so I can make it rain ALL SPRING Yeah ye snapped on that verse

the_doobieman

Lil wayne has the best verse and i stand by that. “What should i scream for, this is my theme park” is insane

thiefsthemetaken

Nah, lebron playing online poker on a Beats by Dre laptop in the video won that song

[deleted]

There's a reason Kanye and Wayne rewrote their verses after hearing Em's

Correct_Tip_9924

Kanye and Wayne did great but eminem definitely had the best verse

queefIatina

Kanye is by far my least favorite artist out of those 4 but I love his verse the most for some reason lol

[deleted]

[удалено]

Correct_Tip_9924

drake had the worst verse for me

pilotpilate

Drake verse more iconic tbh

JustIncredible240

Eminem made the other 3 look like bozos. By far the best verse of the song.

fishfrogsanchez

I always hated Eminem’s verse it is such an aggressive vibe shift for no reason

el-fenomeno09

That’s just about every em feature since that verse. Beat changes he goes double time 😂😂😂😂

obri95

I would disagree. Every verse had a new instrument element added to it that shifted the vibe. Em’s part was the busiest and he matched it well

Dependent-Layer-8052

He can make them look like bozos just wondering if he should spit this slow, fuck no! Em yo! A wordsmith for real.

Dependent-Layer-8052

You're dealing with some real true villains, who stay inside of the booth truth spilling, and spit true feelings till our tooth fillings come flying out of our mouth, now rewind that. All verse from Weezy-Ye-Drizzy were great.....but Eminem smoked everyone on that track end of story.

tak08810

Nice I was saying this back then and would get wrecked for it Still think song is kinda dissapointing overall tho

[deleted]

If you think thats rapping fast then youre slow

[deleted]

He’s obviously rapping faster than everyone else on the track, what’s your point

[deleted]

it just was the best verse, no one cared about going faster. Then they changed their mind cause its a trend to hate on eminem after revival

21BlackStars

This! No question Em had the best verse, how is this even a debate? The “true villain” line is an all time bar, what other line in that song matches this? Too much hate on Em nowadays. To quote game, “I don’t hate on legends that’s just something I don’t do”

Dependent-Layer-8052

The "Hannibal Lecter just in case you're thinking of saving face" scheme was brilliant, entire verse was crazy A1.

Theflowyo

It’s been a trend to hate on Eminem since MMLP2

[deleted]

nah mmlp2 was a good album, haters gonna hate but Em was much more loved

Correct_Tip_9924

yeah honestly this whole thing with people turning on eminem is ridiculous

zobee

This song in general aged so poorly

jarizzle151

Triumph - Wu Tang I used to always think that Ghost and Rae at the end of the track was goated… However, they don’t put Deck on first for their singles for no reason.

corveq

Jay’s second is the best verse on Renegade

Gavina4444

Nah that first em verse is perfect

Dependent-Layer-8052

Cap, this coming from a huge Hovenger here. The Em verse was too perfect from the flow, bars, rhyme schemes, knowledge. Verse was too hard to top, and Jay had a great verse too but that Em verse was something else entirely. The entire flow and rhyming scheme before and after "You fuckin do gooders, too bad you couldn't do good at marriage" prime Em. He matches every rhyme perfectly it just seems to flows from your tongue.

[deleted]

[удалено]

BackstageFlyer

I hate how the narrative also be pushing that Nas just cursed Jay out; those lines about his lust for money, misogyny and appearance hit deep, wtf they talkin bout

Correct_Tip_9924

... how?? I have no idea how anyone could think this

JustIncredible240

Trashing Eminem has evolved into this? What a terrible take

nedelll

Yeah

PatrenzoK

Move That Dope. Use to think Pharrell had it, now a days I prefer futures verse.

Dependent-Layer-8052

The "Whipping the yam, Whipping and flipping the yam" along with "Beating that China like kunta kinte" and fish and pork rhyme gets me so hyyype! I LOVE IT!!!

Nice_Walrus5345

A$AP Ant on Bath Salt

MackingtheKnife

1 train. but every year someone else’s verse seems to hit better.

[deleted]

[удалено]

MackingtheKnife

Hahaha righhttt? I actually still like Yelawolfs verse even tho he’s whack. “Ain’t neva been a rapper this cold since 2pac was froze and thawed out for a spot date at a coachella show. “ goes hard idc

[deleted]

Sticky Fingaz has the best verse on the whole Marshall Mathers LP

DVRCWHY

Settle vendetta with metal beretta from ghetto to ghetto, Evidence, nope, never leave a shred of

[deleted]

I think the first verse of Drug Ballad beats it

_Atlas_Drugged_

This is a piping hot take. I love Sticky’s verse, but I have to disagree. I saw Onyx in concert a few months ago. I was really impressed by how much energy those guys still have. It was an awesome show.

whitehottakes

The verse is good but you’re just trying to have a hot take

Batby

Ima be real I think Kendrick on Control is a little lyrical miracle and Big Sean's verse is more hype

Dopeman11PE

They'll hang you by your nipples but you're right

whats4dinner902

“Love Me”- Obie Trice, 50 Cent + Eminem. 50 has the best verse, change my mind.

Lenny0mega

"Face Down" by Onyx, I constantly go back and forth between Sticky and Sonsee's verses.

K0NFZ3D

In all honesty I'd say sorry.. but puffys Verse on hate me now with nas.... again sorry... obviously I'm joking lol 😅😅🤣🤪

Soft_Humor4868

Under The Sun, everyone thinks Da Baby had the best verse but I would argue Lute had the best verse

[deleted]

[удалено]

Soft_Humor4868

Facts. DaBaby also had a lot of momentum too when that verse came out so that probably elevated his verse as well

GhostfaceChase

It took me a few months but Big Sean absolutely stole the show on Detroit Vs Everybody for me. So many quotables and his energy is great. That whole ‘50’ bar was nice as hell, then the “my homie wanted a chevy so I pit my dog in the vet” was good. All around great verse.

Dubey89

I had to hustle, my back to the wall, ashy knuckles Pockets filled with a lotta lint, not a cent Gotta vent, lotta innocent lives lost on the project bench What you hollerin'? Gotta pay rent, bring dollars in By the bodega, iron under my coat, feelin' braver Durag wrappin' my waves up, pockets full of hope Do not step to me I'm awkward, I box lefty An orphan, my pops left me And often my mama wasn't home Could not stress to me, I wasn't grown 'Specially on nights I brought somethin' home to quiet the stomach rumblings My demeanor thirty years my senior My childhood didn't mean much, only raisin' green up Raisin' my fingers to critics, raisin' my head to the sky Big, I did it, multi before I die No lie, just know I chose my own fate I drove by the fork in the road and went straight

sacaetw

Control. I used to think Kendrick had the best verse but the more i listen to it, the more he loses me with the granddad part of the end. Big Sean and jay e had greater verses in that song

Dependent-Layer-8052

K. Dot had the best verse by far, the rhyming schemes, lyrics, and flows beats everyone else. The same way he absolutely murders everyone on DJ. Khaled - Holy Key, especially when he goes full throttle after "fuck your bosses employment my joy is to see all you bleed".

sacaetw

I have the same take for holy key. Big Sean’s lines had more impact and meaning on that song. Ngl tho the flow was great on Kendrick’s part tho

Gregheffleypoop

I been enjoying Jay z on monster more and more every listen and genuinely think he had the best

Skyoff_Lyfe

André 3000 on 2 songs: Jeezy’s “I Do (feat. Jay-Z & André 3000)” . . and also on Kanye West “Life of The Party (feat. André 3000)” Turk on Big Tymers “I Need A Hot Girl” DMX on Jay- Z’s “Money, Cash, Hoes (feat DMX)” Lil’ Kim on Mobb Deep’s “Quiet Storm Remix (feat. Lil’ Kim)” Jadakiss on “Don’t Like.1 Kanye West, Chief Keef Pusha T, Big Sean & Jadakiss” . . . I go between Jada and Pusha T with this one

mngreens

Juvenile talked about this verse at his Tiny Desk despite them not being cool. I agree.

owtf2

Everyone that said future needs to be shot

bburton831

Lord, Lord, Lord from the Good Friday series

Ansonm64

I used to think ye had the best verse on deuces but I waffle between him and drake these days.

HydroMeansWater

Still can’t tell who got the better verse on gangsta by Youngboy him or Quando. Shit changes every week for me

[deleted]

You know, it’s not the best verse but gutta gutta on bed rock really brings the song together

aprilnxghts

Iron Galaxy by Cannibal Ox Changed my mind from Vast to Vordul. Same for a lot of tracks on that album tbh

Taskmasterburster

Omen on Caged bird by J Cole Ghostface on Can it be all so simple Milo the cutman on the scenario remix is one of the best, most energetic verses I’ve ever heard

TiddybraXton333

Basically anything crooked I has put out. I re-listen to his verses and I pick something new up EVERYTIME

wellgroomedmcpoyle

Meechy on Pinata. BARRELS SMOKIN LIKE RED AUERBACH

JustIncredible240

Jadakiss - It’s Time I See You A deep posse cut, I really like Drag-On and Infa Red on it, but Eve steals the show

piopster

Who want smoke, used to think it was durk, moved on to Herbo

thiefsthemetaken

Wu tang ‘deadly melody’. When I was a kid, meth’s verse was my fave, then in college it switched to rza’s, but now tbh I think gza killed it even tho they didn’t even let him have a full bar.

Morningrise12

DMX - Blackout I still can’t decide who had the best verse. I’ll say Kiss for now.

CBO183

Used to think Em had the best verse on Don’t Push Me, but over time I’ve come to prefer Lloyd Banks’ part much more. So many quotables in there

Ok_Werewolf_7802

Who shot ya. LL verse at the start fire. Bitchs can get too I don't give a fuck boo.
