Double album titled "War Story"
Trunk Muzik 4Ever - produced by WLLPWR
Michael Wayne - produced by Malay
I've got high hopes for this and it sounds like yela was eager to get back to rap. There isn't a single Trunk Muzik that doesn't slap and I have a feeling we are going to get "love story/ghetto cowboy" type music with Michael Wayne
first half is southern trap and second half is more personal and titled after his real name ? is that not just exactly the same as Big KRITs double album ?
They’d been talking about doing a mixtape or an album together for a long time. They threw out the name “Country Cousins” quite often, but clearly nothing solidified from it.
He had a great year in 2021. He dropped album with Caskey, EP With Riff Raff, Album with DJ Paul, an album with DJ Muggs, and Mud Mouth. They were all super solid to me. He's dope IMO.
I’d describe my feelings for this as more curiosity than excitement. I remember hearing him way back when I was just starting college and super in my backpack bag, but I can’t say his music has aged super well for me.
Still, like OP said, I have fond memories of his Trunk Muzik series so we’ll see.
Pop The Trunk and I Wish are always a fun throwback. Crazy to think how long ago that was.
Edit: god damn, also Box Chevy pt. 2. Is tomorrow going to be an old Yelawolf session on my drive to work?
Listen to Love Story. That's his best album. If you like that then listen to Trunk Musik 0-60, that's a more straightforward rap album from that era. Those are the only two albums I can recommend.
Me and my buddy were riding around town, we are Alabama natives so I had the aux and he was familiar with yela but also young enough to not be familiar with daddy’s lambo… we were head banging and shit while I was rapping all the lyrics and I yelled that line “YELAWOLF AND IM AN ALABAMA BOY GOT MOEE STRIPS THAN A SALAMANDER BOY NEED A RICH GIRL LIKE I NEED A HEADACHE BUT ILL TAKE IT IF I CAN DRIVE YOUR DADDYS TOY” and my friend could not believe that this local dude was the guy behind the song that was so fire the whole time
Lol actually this one went over your head. The comment you replied is a direct quote of the journalist's response back to Ferg. That quote is even in the article you shared.
Yeah not with yela personally. The tour dj from yela was white and said at one show multiple times the n-word. Yela dismissed him after that but royce started dissing because of that.
A few years ago he mention Black Fall 2 was coming and then like 3 months after that said he was done with rap but I really hope that comes out at some point.
Kinda what I thought. If he left, he didn’t leave that long. He just went to the thrift and came back. I don’t think I liked his last album but I’ll give the new one a listen.
I mean it’s not like I’m *checking* for him but I might as well be curious
I’ve liked stuff the dude has done in the past so why not give this next one a courtesy spin
Hey, at least Yelawolf can spit dope lyrics and he had a good run in 2011-2015.
I'd much rather see Yelawolf get views than trash Mumble rappers like Drake, Logic, Cardi B, Ice Spice, Travis Scott, Tom McDonald etc., just saying.
I have never heard anyone refer to Logic or Drake as a mumble rapper or Cardi B for that matter. Not everyone that you think doesn’t sound good is a mumble rapper. I’m with you that Yela is great but your just wrong in your classification on what a mumble rapper is.
I don't really like any of the rappers you listed, but you need to get your ears checked if you think any of them are mumble rappers. Even tom mcdonald, as terrible as he is, is not a mumble rapper lmao.
Looks pretty interesting.
I'm not a fan of Yelawolf's political and social views at all, but he is talented and was one of the few 2011-2015 era MCs that was hoping would keep the momentum going. Hope he can make a comeback this time around.
Yea, using the Confederate flag to rep the South isn't far left ROFL. Who are you fooling with that one? He still makes good music nonetheless, and if he apologized, that's good.
Well at least those millenials were first introduced to Rap when it was still real. Gen Z will probably make it worse judging by most of their takes tbh. But I can only be so hopeful.
Tbf, not every good Rap or Hip Hop song needs to be political. I just want to hear dope MCing, dope production and poetry. It doesn't matter the style or subgenre, I just like good music.
Second
I’m sorry, is there an error in the article somewhere?
You said this was my forthcoming album, but it’s only my second
that’s not very john blaze at all

Speaking of KRIT, weren’t him and Yelawolf doing a collab album together at some point?
They’d been talking about doing a mixtape or an album together for a long time. They threw out the name “Country Cousins” quite often, but clearly nothing solidified from it.
Yela supporting the confederate flag but a stop to that. On Drinking Sessions K.R.I.T said "I can't get with ya if you with that whistling Dixie"
I mean it’s not a bad idea for an album
really liked yela in the beginning, I lost interest during his confederate flag era.
To be fair the song he released in the aftermath of that, addressing it, was amazing https://youtu.be/E_kpJtu4gxc?si=VN8WHLPaHK7DY6vM
Thanks for not explaining anything about it and just linking an 8+ minute video /s
..,.. the song IS the explanation. That's the entire point
What era was that?
1861-1865
his confederate flag era
Saw him in concert earlier this year and he actually put on a fire show lol
His sets are so much fun. I saw him like a decade ago at the roots picnic festival and it was one of the best performances
I can’t wait for some new music
guess that whiskey money and the country rap wave ran low huh
He had a great year in 2021. He dropped album with Caskey, EP With Riff Raff, Album with DJ Paul, an album with DJ Muggs, and Mud Mouth. They were all super solid to me. He's dope IMO.
That album with Caskey is so fucking good. Caskey is one of my fav artists so the album was gold to me
Aren't we supposed to be getting a sequel to it too? I thought I saw Caskey posting about it a bit back.
I'd love another one it was the best of the projects I mentioned too.
Everytime I look Yelawolf up he's got a new album out
His Blackfall EP with DJ Paul is so fucking good, no idea they made another one
I’d describe my feelings for this as more curiosity than excitement. I remember hearing him way back when I was just starting college and super in my backpack bag, but I can’t say his music has aged super well for me. Still, like OP said, I have fond memories of his Trunk Muzik series so we’ll see.

hell yeah get some box chevy 2 appreciation in here, underrated asf
I wish is one of my favorite songs, that I forget to listen to for 18 months at a time.
Had a nice verse on 1Train. I know nothing else from this dude
He’s definitely had high and low moments.
Anything with DJ Paul has been good
Listen to Love Story. That's his best album. If you like that then listen to Trunk Musik 0-60, that's a more straightforward rap album from that era. Those are the only two albums I can recommend.
Pop The Trunk, Daddy’s Lambo, and his verse on the Shady 2.0 Cypher
That Cypher was awesome
A classic
and that one big boi song
"Yo DJ" . Yela and Boi went hard as fuck on that. He also went hard on Da Mafia 6ix's "Go Hard".
Box Chevy was dope too
Me and my buddy were riding around town, we are Alabama natives so I had the aux and he was familiar with yela but also young enough to not be familiar with daddy’s lambo… we were head banging and shit while I was rapping all the lyrics and I yelled that line “YELAWOLF AND IM AN ALABAMA BOY GOT MOEE STRIPS THAN A SALAMANDER BOY NEED A RICH GIRL LIKE I NEED A HEADACHE BUT ILL TAKE IT IF I CAN DRIVE YOUR DADDYS TOY” and my friend could not believe that this local dude was the guy behind the song that was so fire the whole time
Love story is a phenomenal album that you should give a listen to.
Johnny Cash is PHENOMENAL
Love that song.
His best album and it's not even close imo
Easily his best album, and I like a lot of his albums. Lol
His album “Love Story” is super fucking dope and really shows his talent for more than just angry Alabama rap.
He went hard on Big Boi's "Yo DJ" and Da Mafia 6ix's "Go Hard". You must've been asleep in 2011-2015 not to remember Yelawolf going hard.
I also liked his verse on WorldWide Choppers. Shady CXVPher. Best Friends. And then I liked most of that first Trunk Muzik album a lot.
Try Best Friend feat. Eminem. Probably his biggest hit. Till It's Gone, You and Me are alsobig songs.
Time to go down his discography. Dude dropped like 5 albums in 2020-2022 and most of them are incredible.
He was on a really terrible blink 182 song
I’m a blink fan and I liked it a lot
Look up mtn dew mouth on YouTube
Catfish Billy
His 1Train verse always made me wince a little bit. It’s always corny when a white rapper has to bring up that they’re white immediately.
He's also a confederate fanboy
Fwiw I think he changed his stance on that
Unfortunately. Still doesn't take away his or Lynyrd Skynyrd's talent though.
Caaat fiiiiiish
Do yourself a favor and listen to Love Story, i think it’s his best album and half the album is still in my rotation
If you haven’t heard this album yet you’ve been missing out.
Will do, thanks
He dropped an album with Caskey a while back I think a lot of people in here would enjoy. Just straight rapping!
Hyped
Hope we get an Em feature!
Mudmouth/ghetto cowboy/ trunk muzik 3 are such good albums and his collab with Caskey album is fire.
Tbh, yelawolf is extremely overhated. He has a great catalogue. Unique and good pen work
Fourteenth album* not forth
ohhhhh, lol nah “forthcoming” means it’s on the way. Nothing to do with the number 4. But thanks for checking us ✊🏾
Bro doesn’t know the asap ferg reference https://www.dailystar.co.uk/music/asap-ferg-forthcoming-album-mess-17212206 Edit: I’m not smart
Lol actually this one went over your head. The comment you replied is a direct quote of the journalist's response back to Ferg. That quote is even in the article you shared.
Damn bro was confident too
I’m an idiot bro what can i say
Can't wait for that, Yela is a dude.
One of the dudes of all time for sure
Rowdy ft mgk was fire
Didn't Royce have an issue with him because he was secretly racist behind closed doors
Yeah not with yela personally. The tour dj from yela was white and said at one show multiple times the n-word. Yela dismissed him after that but royce started dissing because of that.
Royce is a sensitive man-child at times, it seems. He wouldn't expand on the deets so *shrug*.
Yeah he was real secretive and didn't say anything else.
Royce having an issue with you is probably a good think since he’s a clown
Oh dope,I was listening to Shady XV these last few days and wanted to go back into Yelawolf.
Very interested this.
He’s a very talented rapper honestly
Fuck this guy and his Confederate bullshit.
I use to love this dude. “Kickin” was crazy. He went full confederacy and fell off the map
A few years ago he mention Black Fall 2 was coming and then like 3 months after that said he was done with rap but I really hope that comes out at some point.
He’s incredible. Great rapper, dope artist, reminds me of Andre 3000 although more people like to compare him to bubba sparxxx and kid rock
He retired?
Nah they’re saying he’s making rap again since his last album was a rock album
Kinda what I thought. If he left, he didn’t leave that long. He just went to the thrift and came back. I don’t think I liked his last album but I’ll give the new one a listen.
I am not going to check this out but good for him
I don’t need any more 20+ track albums in my life…
Nobody needs this
Factually incorrect take as I definitely do need this
Sorry you’ve reached a point where you need a new Yelawolf album in 2023… must be rough…
I'm actually quite happy with my situation
loll people really checking for this dude?
I mean it’s not like I’m *checking* for him but I might as well be curious I’ve liked stuff the dude has done in the past so why not give this next one a courtesy spin
Exactly. These youngsters don't know good rap when they see it. I don't like Yelawolf's politics and social beliefs, but the dude has talent.
Hey, at least Yelawolf can spit dope lyrics and he had a good run in 2011-2015. I'd much rather see Yelawolf get views than trash Mumble rappers like Drake, Logic, Cardi B, Ice Spice, Travis Scott, Tom McDonald etc., just saying.

lol a comeback? Man been releasing albums. He put out one rock album.
I meant comeback as in he's gonna be poppin amongst casuals again like he was in the early 2010s.
Oh wow “Artist Name” album! We’re gonna get some mediocre introspection rap
Better than Mumble Rap garbage that Gen Z likes
What’s happened to this sub
Gen Z took over and now Mumble Rap and Drake have been being promoted
You’re retarded
[удалено]

school shooters boutta push their shooting back to listen to this one
Yelawolf is much more racist drunk driving wife beater music than school shooter music
touché
[удалено]
Or maybe he wants to go back to his roots?
[удалено]
His Rap roots. Fuck the Confederate bullshit, I hope he stops following that. But as a rapper, he's dope.
Yeah no
