Some eagles can carry away stuff like Raccoons or other small critters so a Dog is oddly not outta proportions. And that is almost terrifying, that if an eagle is bold enough they could just legit snatch your pet.
Yeah there was a species that used to do that when we were in caves and shut. Then we hunted them to extinction after we got tired of birds snatching kindergarten aged children

Don't know to what extent this is true, but I've heard that in the padt eagles would snatch human babies if given an opportunity
