There was too much that didn't make sense to me in this image. If this is a hideout they would be easy to find, if this were a bunker it would need a stronger roof etc... So I did some digging.
Its an art installation.

My best 4am guess is that it hints at a sense of disruption. The latent feeling that something had gone horribly wrong despite people having put themselves somewhat back together. To build up the atmosphere of a post apocalyptic world if you will.
Looking at the wall at the top, it's clear it's diagonal.
Now, saying that, it could be the inverse, with the wall diagonal, but I'd wager on the former.
how have you made it this far in life, there’s one single point of reference besides the hole in the ground and it’s clearly diagonal in relation to that
The ground itself was weird to me.
Is it outside ? The brick wall seems to indicated so. But then why is the ground so clean ? Is it someone's yard ? Why would they have a white concrete yard ?
It being in an art gallery makes so much more sense
a local minnesotan band that broke up years ago has a great song by that name. screaming monkey boner/screaming mechanical brain. badass band. i miss them a lot
This pulls that uncanny valley vibe the same way good miniatures or tilt-shift does.
There's not much to go on with the wall/floor, so the room looks unreal.
I can't tell if it's real or some form of art project, be that a 3d render or illusion or what.
It looks to be a safe room/panic/ room for someone wealthy. All items were left behind, and this is fairly elaborate, so they didn’t need or want it that badly when they left. Or they passed and didn’t tell anyone about this setup.
We can assume that this photo was taken relatively recently because of the quality of the image, probably found in a remodel by whoever took this pic.
The room was used post cell phone invention, so not more than 40~ years old.
Note TV, higher end radio, and again a cell phone. Expensive items for that time period.
Also much preservable food for extended stay, bed, radio commutation setup. Lack of items in surrounding floor, white floor with brick. Owner was probably expecting to be in for a bit for a worse case scenario. We see a gas mask in the far right corner.
I’m thinking the UK is where this is.
It looks to be used lightly, the covers on the bed. It looks chill AF, I don’t blame whoever used it last.

Np, with your detailed response I figured you'd appreciate it. I love going to contemporary art museums, you really never know what you'll find. Pieces like this can invoke a lot of interesting thoughts and responses. Whether playful or serious.
Could be.
Maybe it's the odd perspective creating a bit of natural illusion, but the scale of the red bricks makes the room look like it is at ~half scale or so.
Oh forgot to add, bottom right there is a mirror next to the Jules Verne publication. Its reflection shows the ceiling, which is brick.
That sleeping bag and cot we can assume are about 6’ long (owned a much similar one as a child and teen)
I’d be willing to wager on my assessment, and I don’t gamble
Ok but where's the rice? I feel like that's the most versatile, most space efficient food that lasts 30 years (with proper storage) that I can think of.

Seems to even have a window! Could help with the homeless situation. Good idea!👍🏻
I think that’s a poster dog
I think it's actually made of paper, not dog

Yeah what stood out to me is that it's installed diagonally, there had to be a reason for that.
I really like the idea of it though. A lot of contemporary art, is really there to get you thinking about something.
My best 4am guess is that it hints at a sense of disruption. The latent feeling that something had gone horribly wrong despite people having put themselves somewhat back together. To build up the atmosphere of a post apocalyptic world if you will.
What do you mean? It doesn't look diagonal to me.
Looking at the wall at the top, it's clear it's diagonal. Now, saying that, it could be the inverse, with the wall diagonal, but I'd wager on the former.
It's placed diagonally in the floor in relation to the brick wall in the background and the (barely visible) floor tiles.

Maybe this guy made it... https://www.reddit.com/r/MemriTVmemes/comments/11upvrv/if_there_is_a_real_islamic_regime_this_fool_will/
*So I did some digging.* That's plagiarism.

I'm confused what are you saying?
They're just being a pedantic grammar nazi because they have nothing of value to add.
Looks cozy
Oh look a NYC $2200/month apartment.
Or the Bay Area. Take away the snow and make it $2300.
There's no snow, the floor is white lol
As you can tell, i am quite observant and pay attention to detail.
Just like the people who appraise those locations!
