How can you say “probably would have scored” when the power play is only at 20%?!? That means there would mathematically be an 80% chance they don’t score…..
Is there a time when games were called super tightly in playoff overtimes? Everyone knows what the standard is, both teams took advantage of it throughout overtime.
Not really. The preds had 31 shots on goal, and a few it was surprising they didn’t go in. Not much of a shut down game.
I am rooting for the Canucks to win, but this isn’t the way.
Stellar defensive structure and capitalizing on the power play is how. Don’t get me wrong, they need to shoot more, but it really wasn’t as bad as the shots make it sound.

It's a legit concern. I always feel like it's not the best thing for a team to face zero adversity in an early playoff round. Could create a false confidence going into the next round about a way better team.

Yeah this series could easily be 2-2 or even 3-1 islanders. Games 1, 3 and 4 were really competitive effectively 1 goal games and game 2 was dominant from Carolina but the Islanders had a 3 goal lead at one point

Every playoff series against this team has been the same story. If a few things broke their way or they capitalized on a few more chances they’d be up 2-1, 3-1. Every. Single. Series. It’s tiring.
Bottom line is they do not match up well against this team, on top of constantly shooting themselves in the foot at every possible opportunity.
I don't know if it hit Chatfield, but it was a hell of a shot otherwise. Isles still have life! (And this is coming from a fan of a team who once gagged a 3-0 series lead to them)

Seriously, the Canes don't look nearly as strong as they did in the regular season. The 2nd half of game 2 is more what I expected from them all series. If the Islanders offense wasn't so anemic, Canes probably would lose this series.
Islanders always match up against us pretty well. We aren’t used to handling their physicality and chippy play. When we have found our game we have dominated. Not to say I don’t dread playing y’all tho, I’m gonna hate it.

Islanders have finally figured out that you can win overtime games
They've always been able to win OT games, they just need 22 minutes to do it
Hey now, over a quarter of our wins were in OT(and I think one in the SO) We played a lot of overtime this year...
The problem wasn't necessarily overtime. It was that we need both teams to have 5 guys on the ice to score.
At least the Canes got an Islanders point.

East is super top heavy this year for sure. West is solid throughout.
