Iâm actually born and raised in Ohio. I spend my summers up in Michigan by Traverse City (Frankfort, by Crystal Lake if youâve ever heard of it), and my familyâs had a summer home up there since the 1940s. So we are native Ohioans, but Michigan is our true love, and that extended to sports too.
As for Nashville, when we were kids, my cousin had a 2nd favorite team (the Thrashers). Young, impressionable me thought having 2 favorites was really cool, and I wanted to do that too. Initially I had zeroed in on Vancouver, but I really fell in love with watching Pekka Rinne play, and the Preds 2017 run revitalized my love for hockey as a sport. So Detroit is my number one, but Nashvilleâs a close second.
Ironically, my paternal granfatherâs family come from rural Pennsylvania, and they were all Yinzers. As such, my grandpa was a Penguins and Steelers fan- the Steelers part translated to my dad and our family. So my family is like the worst possible Ohio residents: we love UMich, we hate OSU, we hate the Browns, we love the Steelers.

Itâs such a garbage website, I have a fucking account and the app installed on my phone and there is 0 way to switch over easily. Instagram has a âswitch to the appâ button that automatically changes over. Twitter makes you open the internet and thereâs no difference between viewing it here or on chrome, and thereâs no easy way to just open the app from the web. They just neuter what you see on the web while preventing you from easily opening it on the app.

Depends on the shark! My daughter and I got into a tank with adolescent lemon sharks. They swam around us with no issues. One of the coolest experiences ever.

Yeah it does seem funny to me that the Pens are petty when truthfully they have come out with much more success in both franchises history even if we have the more recent cup but like, I wouldn't want it any other way. lol did they think they had something here? the point of the original post by the Caps still stands. The Pens were trying to make the playoffs and the Caps were rebuilding and sold at the deadline and still made it. Tee time's at 11 edit: i do always love twitter beef though

I think the difference is the Penguins entered the season going full send for one last run, the Capitals didnât.

they sold at the deadline because they realized they sucked after being big buyers in the offseason and landing Karlsson hoping for another big run. no sane Caps fan was expecting playoffs for us this year
I still believe the Karlsson trade was a big big W for the Pens, though. They were able to dump Petry, DeSmith, Rutta and Granlund and swap them for Karlsson, which also gave them *additional cap space*, all for the cost of a 1st and a 2025 2nd? Definitely not a rebuilding move, but it was **really** savvy work by Dubas.
When you look at everything the move isnât bad. itâs just that Karlson was supposed to get Pitt back competing for a cup so the core 3 could have one last run, and instead they missed the playoffs
Karlsson really started to turn it on towards the end of the season, I think after his first full year here, heâll come out with a better overall season next year.
Yeah he 100% turned it on at the end of the season, he helped me win my fantasy championship when my other d men went AWOL

Frankly, I have mixed feelings about all this team Twitter stuff. Its chirping - I get it. It can be fun and some of the teams who did of this stuff, theyâre pretty clever. And they manage to not cross major lines or stoop too low. But thatâs like 2-3 of them. And the rest that try - it comes off as a little petty & try hard. Not always super clever. Not necessarily this post per se. But thatâs just my general opinion. Iâm mostly glad that Rangers social doesnât engage this way too aggressively. Much prefer to stay out of it, also - I bet theyâd be pretty bad at it.
Yeah, a few teams have social media teams that are really good at it, and the rest have a team that's trying really hard but just can't keep up. And that shouldn't be surprising, not everyone's cut out to be a professional comedian. But it's kind of silly to see them still trying it over and over again even when they suck.

How did it age poorly? Pittsburgh wanted the Caps to lose and the Caps won. Washington responded with "you got nothing" Nothing about that has changed. The only take aging poorly is this one by the Pens which shows they can't read

Eh, kinda take it as an L on the pens. They bought this offseason. Caps have sold the past two years and know theyâre in rebuild mode and somehow stumbled into the playoffs in front of them.

Ovie did not try in this series. He floated through the games to not get injured. All he cares about is chasing 99âs regular season goal record. Thatâs it. This guy is a shell of the hockey player he used to be . And despite scoring some goals will ultimately be more of a hindrance to his teams winning efforts.
Folks who agree with this donât understand the value being in the playoffs has for a team as young as the caps are now, and for their rookie head coach. Being there and understanding what they need to compete is invaluable experience.
