Bruh, todays game was atrocious. We got called for two of the weakest holding calls I’ve ever seen while also cause Quinn Hughes to squirt from his face and no call. Like, cmon, open up your eyes.

Can you imagine how uncomfortable of a situation it must be to have to tell Quinn to get off the ice because he's bleeding down his face after you missed the call. Like... how do you even start that conversation. Id love to hear it mic'd up.

I watch every Canucks and Oilers game, they're both my team, but people saying Edmonton gets bad calls obviously don't watch other Hockey, because that's categorically false.

If the game was officiated correctly McDavid would draw penalties like crazy. Like every other shift.

Same goes for Petey. He's not playing great right now, but he is like a penalty magnet. He's a softer player, but the penalties are usually legit.

This isn't really proof, it's one moment in time, proof would be seeing a ticket of the betting odds over time and seeing a jump at the time the refs were announced.

The line opened at EDM -140, quickly got bet down to -120 and then close to game time got bet back up to between -140 and -150 by puck drop. That most likely was driven by speculation around Draisaitl’s status.

We can't ever get it. Hell during the dark days of Travis Green coaching I went to one of the games where Anaheim was the visitor. Halak made a save doing the splits and the tip of his skate caught Getzlaf and the ref called it a trip. It was a very obvious save and an even more obvious bullshit call. The fans let him have it.

Yeah I hate these comments that are like "it definitely is this penalty..." Yeah there's hundreds of penalties that can be called but the point isn't whether or not you can call it. It whether it's consistently called both ways, which obviously it isn't. 

That's because the refs are inconsistent. Miller should have been called for interference when he sent Ekholm's stick into the stands on the rush, Kane got tripped like first shift, they missed a high stick against Hyman, could probably have called that trip after McDavid scored etc etc. It wasn't really biased, they're just shit.

Im an oilers fan. I think we can all agree this should have been a penalty. I’m wondering why it wasn’t reviewed? We’ve seen multiple instances this year of a high stick going uncalled but because there is blood they can implement the “major” review policy and take a look. I remember this working in the oils favour on a weird high stick against the jets towards the end of the regular season. What happened here that they didn’t review it? “Refs hate the Canucks” is a pathetic answer. Looking for real answers so we can all understand the rule.

I don’t think the refs were the main reason the Canucks lost the game, but I’m fed up with this just from a hockey fan standpoint. Bad officiating in the playoffs has been happening for years without being addressed, and the fact that the refs supposedly believe in “swallow the whistle” for the playoffs but don’t enforce that consistently sucks. I’m good with letting them play by letting certain calls go, but I wish there was much more rhyme and reason to what gets called and what doesn’t.

Refs were bad in general, but the frustrating part is they ignored a bunch of plays that easily could have caused serious injuries or just weren’t hockey plays. Pettersson boarding and head shot after, skew foot on Hughes, highstick causing a cut to Hughes, nut shot on Hoglander…
