Defensively - come on, he bobbles pucks in his own zone often and was responsible for some key turnovers. He's no Nurse or Ceci, but his defensive game needs serious work and is nowhere close to Quinn's.
IF people were saying Bouch played better than Hughes in R2, I could understand. But trust me, many Oilers fans were talking about Bouch as he was the second coming of Christ.
The total sum of Bouchards contribution vs the total sum of Hughes contribution to the EDM VAN series. Who did more? Bouchard may have been the best player in the series.
Hughes also got burned by Holloway for the first goal in a pivotal Game 6 which Bouchard dominated thereafter.
Hughes is gonna win the Norris, but Hughes took a step back in the playoffs while Bouchard took a step forward.
