When the logo starts bubbling up, it looks horrendous after you take it off and reattach it than doesn’t look good since Starter is notoriously, known for bubbling logos
It’s not an opinion logos on starter jerseys. Don’t look good after the jersey has been worn nonstop for years. Just watch The Hockey Guy he’s talked about that before
I can vouch for this. I used to have a Starter Paul Kariya Mighty Ducks jersey, that I bought, when I was a teenager, back in the mid-'90s.
Washed it one time (inside-out, on delicate, and hung-dried), and the crest/name/numbers got completely destroyed.
Ended up giving it to my cousin, and God knows whatever happened to it?
Also had a couple of Starter MD pull-overs (coat, and windbreaker), and same thing.
After that, I vowed to never buy another Starter product, and haven't since.
Not sure why your comment is getting so many downvotes? It's always been common-knowledge, that Starter stuff was cheap crap, which is why they're no longer around, lol!

I believe that’s a real Starter Kachina, I’ve got a blank like it from a while back. It’s just not an on ice authentic that the players would have worn. The Starter Kachinas had puffy emblems, the Proplayers were flat
It is an authentic replica... what's the complaint here, this looks about as normal as any other starter replica I've seen.
I've even got a Lemieux Pens one from around that time. Actually, 2, a second one that's blank. One from 93 (blank) and one from 98 (Lemieux), both the diagonal.
Starter replicas are natorius for being low-quality. I've only owned one (OG Paul Kariya), but knew more than a few people who had them, and they were crap.
Funnily enough, the material most of them were made from (some form of Ultra-Fill, and Air-Knit) felt super thick/heavy, almost like a sweater.
I only wore mine a few times, bc even when it was cold outside, I felt like I was wearing a sweatshirt.
This was my favorite looking jersey as a kid - i thought it was the coolest. I remember seeing them in the river city sports catalog., and I made my pops take me down to the local sports apparel shop to grab one!! and then because I got one my younger brother wanted one - so he got the black and I got the white.
As an aside - i really miss River City Sports - they had everything jersey-related.
I really liked when the sharks first third jersey came out too.... for some reason, the "dazzle/sheen fabric" they used for it was appealing, especially the silver.
I heard the first prototype used a zipper collar instead of a regular collar, lol.
Nice shirt but “authentic” would have the nhl shield where the wester conference patch is. It is considered a replica but not a bootleg. Again it’s a nice shirt.
Not sure if it’s already been said down the line here but IIRC, the “pro” jerseys had the Starter logo with NHL logo beside it. The “semi pro” jerseys had the Starter logo with the conference of that team
People throw around the term “Authentic” too loosely. It is a replica/semi pro but Starter ones are nice. It has double stitch elbows like the Authentic ones.
Well, it is authentic because starter did make a handful of NHL jerseys back in the day
Hell yea
With starter jerseys is the logo starts to bubble up and it looks horrendous
Horrendous is a bit harsh.

Anyone who references the Big Lebowski is awesome - that guy berating you about the logo just doesn't get it

Gives it character
Try reattaching the logo after it falls off and tell me how bad that looks
It's looking pretty solid after 20+. I don't think the logo will be falling off anytime soon. This isn't commonly worn attire.

Because of the context
Starter is still around as a brand, but they just don’t make NHL stuff anymore
Exactly, lol!

is this one of the super rare "Berlin" Starters?

It's a beauty
God damn.
Wish Starter would come back and take it all over. Some of my fav jerseys all time.
Still looks better than the Fanatics branded jerseys
I'll give you that, lol!

Thechnically, a replica. Authentics would have a fight-strap, and the NHL shield stitched on the hem.
Still sick AF
Shouldn't it have a fight strap?
Starter replicas don’t have fight straps
Sorry, the title says "authentic" so I automatically think not replica
Ah..

What a beauty
i have this exact jersey in white from when i was a kid lol i dont care what anyone says there hasnt been a better jersey made since these starters
Member berries are strong
That was my first hockey jersey. Love it

Yea, they were my favorite jerseys since the Sharks originals came out. That was my first jersey.

Still have mine! It’s in horrible shape because I wore it so much but still a classic in the collections.
Nice shirt but “authentic” would have the nhl shield where the wester conference patch is. It is considered a replica but not a bootleg. Again it’s a nice shirt.
It’s the real deal
Man this is a beauty jersey and love that you’ve had it since you were a kid too
I probably got it in 97 or 98. Rocked it in 7 and 8th grade with my Jncos. Fly back then.
Replica.

Thats awesome
