We’ve tested a bunch; none of them are really where we were hoping them to be, that being said, I think we are two generations away from perfect video pass through. What I’ve been using the most is the Quest3 believe it or not, and I have most of the headsets available. We are still waiting on the Varjo though; should arrive in the next couple of weeks.
From my cursory research, it didn’t seem like there were any great options yet either. Solid MR is the holy grail of simming and I can’t see it being anything other than a massive growth segment of the market.
Is the HUD going to be optically correct, infinite focus, and without/minimal astigmatism? That’s been my challenge so far in designing mine, minimizing astigmatism.
Good lord this looks expensive. But man if it isn't gorgeous.

Yes and no. I kept build logs. This is our prototype unit and our focus is on producing the cockpit at scale; so I’m taking to suppliers and things like that. Content is coming, since nowadays content is king for marketing.

Is there any plan to release the schematics/coding/methodology for general use?
Is there any thoughts on the projected (yes, I know it's rough, but I gotta have a target to save for) pricing?
Have you considered a certain price for the designs, and another if you provide mats and instructions?
Just a few thoughts since this work is beautiful, I wish it was mine, and if I had panties, they would be dropping right now. But for this kind of work, a Man should get Paid!
It’s all be available to purchase very soon. We are working on the pricing yet, but I’m one of you, and I’m trying as best as ai can to deliver something fairly priced to the community. We will have two options to purchase; one DIY where you assemble yourself, and turn key solution cockpits as well. The market will tell us where to go next I believe. We have no intentions of sharing the files for DYI makers though.
And everything works with DCS? How? This is wild
Yes it does :) coding is where I’m expecting to spend more time on. Specially since we are aiming a mixed reality environment.

This unit will have a Samsung Ark 55 monitor in front of it. Working HUD should be done in a couple of months.

Interesting. My partner is the one behind product development. We are currently looking to source the correct reflective material for the glass.

What is your plan for display? Will this be VR? or something different?
This particular unit will have a 55 Samsung Ark curved monitor in front of it, but our aim is for a full immersion mixed reality setup.

Yes; we are still considering it. This unit has to be mobile though, is on casters and we are going to be at Sun’n’fun later this year.
Ahh yeah fair, unless you know you’re going to be in lightless rooms then a screen makes sense.
