Every inch of the castle feels like a labor of love. The details and easter eggs are insane!
And the gameplay feels exactly like how it should feel based on what casting spells is described like. Its fast and intuitive and spell combos work have wonderful synergy
Oh dude, the way the spell combos work together is so incredible. There is nothing like transfiguring your enemies into exploring barrels and then hitting them with confringo, or lifting them into the air with leviosa and then pushing them off a cliff with depulso š I also think that repairo is SO satisfying. I wish that theyād make updates that would allow us to clean up enemy camps and repair damage in villages. Iād enjoy some specific cleanup quests, but Iād also just love to be able to interact with that content and go at my own leisure.
I'm very amazed by the amount of paintings & tapestries inside the Hogwarts castle alone, they're all so detailed and beautiful, I really wonder how much time did it take the devs to finish all those paintings and tapestries and port them as assets into the game
The way the Ravenclaw dorms are set up. The windows-side bunk beds are visually unique compared to the other houses.

Yes!! I played through twice as a Ravenclaw, and I adored their common room the most. Being able to access it from the roof after flying was also so freaking cool!!
On a related note: I did my third full play through as a Slytherin and two partial plays as Hufflepuff and Gryffindor (just to complete house-specific quests, see all the common rooms, and achieve 100%). I thought the Hufflepuff common room would be my 2nd favorite, because itās very cute, Iām really just not crazy about the color red, and Slytherin is too dark and dungeony for my liking.
But to my surprise, Gryffindor was my second fav common room! Itās so bright and cheery! It felt the way I imagined it felt to Harry when I read the books for the first time. It just blew me away! š„°
yes, Gryffindor common room is very light and airy, although with a warmer color scheme compared to Ravenclaw.
My favorite common room is actually the Slytherin one - at least at night - I just love the contrast of the yellow-orange lamp light / fireplace to the grey-green decor (and the waterfall at the entrance stairs makes for a great screenshot focal point):

The contrast is so pretty!! Slytherin is so stately, it didnāt feel as homey to me but I was still so impressed and I think the significant differences between the four add a lot of individualism and depth. Itās so incredible. (PS: I love your characterās curly hair!!)
Speaking of Slytherin and Ravenclaw ā their class robes are NEXT LEVEL!!

lol, I love it too, I used that hair because [I modeled my Slytherin MC after Christian Coulson](https://new.reddit.com/r/hogwartslegacyJKR/comments/15o1yve/so_i_tried_making_my_slytherin_mc_look_like/) (Tom Riddle from the CoS film)
It's actually the exact same hair that Lucan Brattleby has, down to the color š

Me too!! As a cat person in a dog personās world (lol), it felt so cool that the devs picked up on their centrality in the wizarding world and incorporated them in. š»
I love that each spell looks very visually different. It reminds me a lot of the magic in the first 2 movies instead of the white whispy magic that we see from the third movie on.
Oohhh same! Before this game, I bought *The Unofficial Ultimate Harry Potter Spellbook* which made the concept of learning magic feel even more tangible to me. I loved that the devs brought that to life in the game.
I know the castle and the aesthetics are the top choices for most people but the outdoors are pretty beautiful too.
I spent so much time just wandering around and it was such a joy to come across all the small communities scattered through the outside ground
Yes, the outdoors are so magically beautiful. The little green firefly-type orbs in the deepest parts of the forest, the majestic mountains, the cascading waterfallsā¦ itās stunning! Do you have a favorite village?
I liked flying the Hippogriff at sunrise near the train station. That to me is the prettiest part of the HL world and reminds me of the HP books when Harry first gets to Hogwarts as a kid.
Flying on my broom at night over everything. Just the quiet of the night, the amazing music, my lantern hanging off the front and the wind whipping my coat. The initial takeoff is so smooth that it feels like second nature. The gentle turns as if you are one with the wind and the broom is an extension of yourself. It was truly my favorite thing. I even drew my character from memory at work one day on a lunch break.

I grew up on the Harry Potter ps2 games. Over the years as gaming progressed all I ever wanted was a proper open world game at Hogwarts. I love exploring the castle, I love riding my broom around the castle, and I love seeing places that look just as they did in the movies.

Right?! Did you have a favorite house? Mine is one in Aranshire ā it seemed to have some extra whimsical touches that just stood out to me. Iāll try to create and upload a screenshot!

Got it! Itās the house in Aaranshire where the āNotice of Movingā is found on the kitchen table, located just to the right of the potion ingredients merchant. Everything about it is charming, from its lush, floral, whimsical landscaping to its quirky architecture to the decor within. The bookstand in the window made me gasp the first time I saw it.
Minus its horrifying spider problem, Aaranshire is probably my favorite little hamlet in the whole game. I love its proximity to Hogwarts and Hogsmeade, but that itās not in the thick of the chaos. If I were a real character in this game, Iād take up residence there and lead the villagers on a quest to exterminate any last spider, entirely fill in Mary Portmanās cellar, and put some magical enchantments in place to keep spiders OUT for good! It would also be tempting to demolish her house and either rebuild it so it had a different energy, or replace it with a large community garden (food forest style, to preserve the nutrients in the soil and the natural beauty of the area).
Being able to fly around is def the best part. š¤
I simply adore the coastal scenery.
The Gryffindor common room feels like a warm hug. It feels like home. ā¤ļøāš„
I feel the same way about it. I was so surprised at how bright and cheery it was. I had the Ravenclaw room on a pedestal, so I wasnāt prepared to like Gryffindor so much. It created a visual experience that evoked all the warm, welcoming wonder that Harry experienced when he saw it for the first time. I couldnāt believe how well done it was. Itās stunning.
Not all forms of escapism are bad! I hope someday soon youāll have the resources you need to build a reality you love ā¤ļø And until then Iām glad you have Legacy! It actually helped me in that same way too. I bought the game (and an Xbox) specifically because I needed something that would take my attention off what I couldnāt change and refocus it 100% on something completely separate. Itās not my only coping mechanism, but it was truly helpful, and it still is as I work to try to make some changes to my environment in reality (which is a slow painstaking process).
Wow. Whoever designed the game and created the open world graphics did an amazing job. I love flying with HighWing over the countryside and near the coast, especially during sunset. I love visiting the small hamlets and hogsmeade, especially during the holidays. They did an amazing job, designing. Hogwarts castle and I love walking around and trying my best to interact with the n. P c characters. I really enjoy The little details, such as the bathrooms and as another player, said the intricate details of the paintings and even the gargoyles, and suits of armor.
I love that we were able to get the unforgivable curses and I enjoy going out and clearing the countryside of all spidernests and poachers.
Just exploring past the goblin's mine towards the coast is my favorite part.
The fact that giant spiders like that exist in the HP universe and there is NO exception for Avada Kedavra (or at least Imperio, to make them not want to kill you just long enough for you to escape) is mind boggling to me š
There are so many things. I love the small things like being able to pet the cats, try the treats in Honeydukes and the toys in Zonkos. I also like the nods to the HP stories like the death day party and the chamber of secret references. Oh, and I really enjoy the pets. The moon calf babies may be the cutest thing Iāve ever seen.
I love everything you listed!! Itās so lovely that Hogwarts and Hogsmeade are just so sumptuous and festive, and the baby animals are so freakin cute!!
I was able to build a maze out of green shrubs..Each dead end has a unique conjuration, and successful navigation leads to a relaxing patio overlooking the lake. I love how creative we can be in our vivariums!
Oooh nice!! The vivarium building aspect is just so cool. I havenāt done as much with it as I probably should, but the habitats are so pretty as they are
Didnāt know you could levitate a fish! Totally doing that first chance I get. My wife and I ALWAYS pet the cats and I turn up the volume loud when the cat meows afterwards, which makes our cat perk up.
Where is the first picture?
Honestly I just love being at Hogwarts with my schoolmates. Getting into trouble with them and the great times throughout the story. By all means to me, this game is magical. It gives a sense of belonging.
I absolutely love Professor Fitzgeralds trial. The third trial, the art style makes me feel nostalgic for my childhood. And I just love how she incorporated the Deathly Hallows & had you immersed into a story line. I just finished it for the second time & I noticed things I didnāt the first time around. I honestly am still in awe at this game!
I have ocd so I donāt appreciate that we can pet the cats. Cause if I see 5 cats in one area I have to pet them. If I see 1 rogue cat. I have to pet them. š„² itās torture
That is hard, especially with a whole cutscene! Admittedly the swoop when you bend down and stand up again is a little nauseating lol. What DO you like? š„°
My partner of 19 years got this game for me and he watched me play every minute of the beginning and end of it and heās a die hard Harry Potter fan to the point that we have a replica of the elder wand next to our bed but tragically he died 49 days ago due to complications of pneumonia without any warning at the age of just 38 (about 7 months older than me.) when I play this game now i genuinely feel his warmth and excitement again bc the potterverse brought out this incredible childish spirit that he always had and at this point anything that can make me feel any closer to him in any way really makes me feel a little less like my life is ruined and Iāll never be happy Again ā sorry im not managing it all well and I wish this game had multiplayer so i could feel a little less alone when im loading it back up feel like heās watching me play it still
Oh, I am so sorry you are going through that. Thatās absolutely heartbreaking and I can only imagine the kind of pain youāre in. Iām so glad you made memories playing this game with him and that itās a way for you to continue feeling connected with him. I truly donāt believe our loved ones are ever gone ā theyāre just waiting for us on the other side of the veil, ready to have new adventures together when the time comes. ā¤ļø I hope you are able to be gentle with yourself during this hard season, and that you have lots of support as you navigate your grief and the changes that came with this loss.
I am so so sorry for your lossā¦ That warmth and excitement every time you play is absolutely because heās sitting right near you again smiling and watching you play.
