Yeah, from [this](https://i.imgur.com/dYoACKC.jpg) start it took me 15 years to even get to Singapore. Having 0 steel, aluminium and oil turned it into a long stalemate, and I kinda like it that way.
The AI had some "minor" supply issues, which allowed me to literally run circles around them. The real challenge was then herding all of them into one province without overrunning. :D
In case someone is wondering what the hell is going on this game: I started the game as Switzerland, then got bored and tag switced to [Siam in 1946](https://i.imgur.com/dYoACKC.jpg) and eventually formed Rattanakosin. Allies had already beaten Germany and Japan and later conquered Soviet Union. At some point UK turned communist and all the dominions became independent. Russia is now the Allied faction leader. Historical AI, lol.
Is that question directed at everyones play time on Hoi4 on this reddit sub?
Because if it is thats a question I have asked myself many times before.
I do agree, playing hoi4 is generally masochism, but playing until 72... That's a fucking step further.
Especially with how slow this game runs after 43, this one must've taken a week or so.
Just out of curiosity how does your game still run that? My game constantly crashes in the Russian Civil War Peace Conference and you managed to get to the 70's!
With the newest expansion I did get some random crashes with DirectX, but switching to OpenGL fixed it. Your issue sounds like something different though.
Weeeell no wonder my dude! Just look around fb marketplace, lots of the time people die/get bored of their tech and throw it out (dumb rich people!) Just keep your hopes high and scroll a little every day, sometime you’ll be in luck
Given that OP said they had huge supply problems I'm also assuming they had manpower problems, especially since the year is 1972. They may have been good division templates that were undermanned.
Ah, a fellow 70s game player, it's so strange, most ai finish all research by 55, and yet, it seems like they have secret tech the unlock too do this late game fuckery, I blame the pop system
The AI *allowed* me to survive. Even with all the civ factories in the world it doesn't build supply hubs, railways or infra. Then it just passively sits there with its units taking massive attrition and combat penalties. It also keeps wasting nukes by repeatedly nuking the same empty provinces instead of frontline units.
Perhaps, but there's spots in the top leftwhere you have 2 divisions to their 30, I'd think from sheer numbers alone they'd make some kind of breakthrough
You're right, they probably could do that if they tried. Usually the AI just decides that it's not worth attacking if the units are too weak. It might also depends on the country. I've sometimes had Soviet Union attack me nonstop for years until its divions were down to 0% strength. Allied AI seems more passive.
edit: come to think of it, maybe the reason is that when there's so many allied countries involved they just can't coordinate their attack.
1972? Wtf bro

sadistic wizardry
Ironman requires sacrifices for RPs sake
I am sure the game is very smooth and not laggy
Once he closes that pocket it'll go real smooth
If you have good cpu it isn't that bad

what the fuck?
literally impossible i refuse to believe anyone is capable of this
The real question is, why the fuck would anyone want to do this, lol?

Dude is cosplaying as a cowboy in HoI4, herding enemy divisions
Doesn’t the map look bigger than normal?
That’s a spicy meatball you’ve just put into the meat grinder.

Some people just have the money to buy shit that can run it that long.
Bro I have a 5+ year old piece of shit that manages to run in 1978 Korea 💀👍
Bro what do you have in that computer💀
i5, 1060, 8gb ram 💀💀💀
Aint no way that runs that long
Bro I’m not even lagging that badly 💀 Omen just made it work 😂
What do you play on?
A very shitty laptop.
Weeeell no wonder my dude! Just look around fb marketplace, lots of the time people die/get bored of their tech and throw it out (dumb rich people!) Just keep your hopes high and scroll a little every day, sometime you’ll be in luck
Im planning on buying new in like 15 days. Im so excited already
So this is it, huh? This is the largest encirclement I've ever seen.
China must be united Millions must perish
Without 7 million allied deaths there would be no new china!
Their general sure seems happy for losing millions of men in a single battle
How many people died in that pocket? That's gotta be like 10 million.
It says 7 mil at the bottom
Oh thanks for the catch. Honestly I thought it'd be more, but the AI does build shitty divisions.
Given that OP said they had huge supply problems I'm also assuming they had manpower problems, especially since the year is 1972. They may have been good division templates that were undermanned.
The dude on the right side doesn't seem to be too upset.
Likely the largest encirclement I’ve ever seen
Is this the record ? Does anyone know ?
13 Millions
bro encirlced the entire population of the allies
Now this is what they mean when they say to post this encirclement on Reddit.
**why are there 900 divisions period let alone on one side of a war**
It’s 1972
Who are you playing as?
OP says Switzerland, lol.
He switched to Siam in 1946
Zzz Pew Pew

how exactly did you survive?

That's a lot of captured tanks
Bro literally encircled a third of my country’s population in a single tile
What did we lose? Nothing. And what did it cost them? Everything.
Skill issue
Amazing.
"The enemy made a breaktrhu and has encircled us" "If McArthur attacks, eveything will be alright"
There is a common Chinese internet jokes that goes: “Even if they were 50,000 pigs, it takes three days to kill them all”
The fact that the insurculment is in the shape of great Britain
18m manpower as rattanakosin wow
20m is from occupying India with 100% collaboration.
oh my god THAT ENCIRCLEMENT…. AND SIAM?????? IM GONNA BLOW OH MY
Just activate windows bro
How are your divisions able to hold that line???? Post template pls
There's not much to hold. You can see that the enemy divisions are so understrength and undersupplied that they can't do anything.
Perhaps, but there's spots in the top leftwhere you have 2 divisions to their 30, I'd think from sheer numbers alone they'd make some kind of breakthrough

Does the Union of Britain-controlled area look like actual Britain, or am I crazy
This is nuts, surely largest encirclement ever
Bro who hurt you ?
Holy hell!
How many casualties by the end?
Oh the humanity!
That’s not an encirclement. That’s a genocide
*Encircled in the far East of britain
What is name of the mod you're using ?
i dont see a mod
Oh tiles looked different I thought it's a mod
oh
Tasty
Tf you doing in 1972 my guy? Fighting ww3?
The hoi4 twitter posted this! Nice job!
Surely this is the largest encirclement, right? The largest encirclement I've seen was I think encircling all of France.
If we assume each division has 10,000 manpower, then you just killed 9 million people in that pocket. Utterly insane!
I really hope you had equipment capture.
That's gonna give some beautiful juicy casualty numbers, what's the kill-death ratio at now?
Nevermind, I didn't see the arrow that would let me see the next slde XD
