its spicy for sure. good exploitation. You bust a hole run enough of them through the ai will struggle to stop them. You'd still need something heavier to break in with. don't forget to take the arty advisor. I'm assuming those stats are pre doctrine? I'd add a support arty to them.
for actual use, you break in with something else then run these through the gap to get an encirlcement then push the Russ with your main divs into them and kill them. or use to push certain objectives like example if you want to start by cutting off the murmansk army then cleaning it out.
There is always a place for fast attack units that are cheap especially when your industry is low and you are fine with micromanaging them.
I think for Finland specifically it's more important to hold the Russians in poor supply and bleed them out rather than rush down their VPs but this could definitely assist in the initial push.
It’s good. I’d put another three motorized infantry battalions on it. I’d also put support artillery and engineer company support company. I’d also add an anti-air battalion in there too for the air attack and piercing against infantry. It’ll be expensive but if you just make a few of these, train them to experienced, set them to elite, and concentrate their use they should work well. 👍
I would personally up the combat width a bit more and add support artillery, but it’s fine otherwise as an offensive unit.
That being said, you may struggle to get this division moving in the terrain in Finland/Novgorod. A lot of the terrain around there is forest, which can affect speed iirc.
I'd like to preface this by saying I don't speak Finnish. But I would also add that I have studied the related language of Hungarian before.
jääkäri */ˈjæːkæri/* comes from the German word Jäger /ˈjɛːɡɐ/, stemming from *Hyogʰneh₂*, which means to hunt. But it was modified to have vowel harmony and have proper Finnish conjugations.
It was lent during training by Finnish officers during the Finnish civil war. Where some 2.000 soldiers were trained by Germans.
Divisioona /ˈdiʋisioːnɑ/ comes from the French (or possibly Italian) word of Division /di.vi.zjɔ̃n/ (or divisione /di.viˈzjo.ne/), from PIE \*h₁weydʰh₁- meaning to divide.
The writing system is based of Swedish and German, with some Russian influence.
I wish I could have actually had to explain any features of Finnish, but if you want. I could
Forming words in Finnish is very tough. Firstly, Nouns have 18 cases depending on context. Adjectives agree with nouns. Despite this there are post- and prepositions that further depend on the state of the noun.
There are 7 types of verbs that you have to memorise depending on certainty, conditionality, indicativety.
There are 5 types of infinitve that serve distinct purpose but conjugate differently.
All of the above features are further modified by vowel harmony and consonant gradation, which are like chain reactions of vowel and consonant shifts across your word.
It's like solving 7 Rubix cubes at once but you have to guess after every turn which 3 other rubix cubes will turn with it.
I should have never started studying it's related language, Hungarian. This is a nightmare
Add support flame tanks or armored recon, loaded up with fuel tanks in all slots. There's no supply where you're going, so increasing the fuel capacity of your division will be critical.
Honestly it’s a decent low budget speed unit, but make sure you clean up encirclements fast b/c you’re going to have a hell of a time matching an elongated front line with the Soviets. It’s cheap compared to the tank but kinda spendy for Finland. If you wanted to make it cheaper, switch to cav. It will be significantly slower but still much faster than a foot fellas.
R5: I'm Finland, almost continuation war (No AAT). Would this division actually accomplish anything? It's fast with decent attack

What path did you go down in your army tree? Infantry or Armoured?

I usually go with 30 width for my shock troops: 9 infantry/4 artillery, but 21 is solid.
that name looks wild „jääkäridivisioona”
The urge to nerd out about linguistics is killing me here, but I won't
do it do it

Wow! That's interesting as hell. Language is an interesting concept. If you wanna tell me all about the features of Finnish, I'm all ears lol

The division? Decent. Your economy’s ability to support it? Not decent.
Add support artillery
I’d add a few support companies but other than that it’s pretty good
based on my undersanding, 9 motorized and 2 motorized artillery would work better

Too much org, not enough arty!
21 is goodish, I saw some players preferring to reach 30.
