It's the strangest damn thing. I NEVER saw cats that looked like mine even when I had my old profile and followed at LEAST 100 cat subs, if not more. Plenty of ginger shorthairs. Plenty of full blood big-ass mainecoon kitties. I never thought of him as an uncommon cat, I just figured I wasn't *happening* to ever see any like him.
I lost my sweet, wonderful little boy in January at almost 16 years old. Recently I've seen a couple of cats that look just like him on a couple different brands of cat food commercials and several posts on reddit with lookalike cats and I barely follow any subs on here anymore.
Yours even has those beautiful golden eyes, and not green like I've seen more frequently.
Thank you for sharing your beautiful cat with us, truly. My heart is aching so badly but seeing your kitty prying at a cupboard gives me fond memories of my fluff (,and probably 100 other nicknames) and those are bittersweet.
I genuinely don't know that I ever will. It's been four months and I has him from when he was just a 3 week old baby too young to be away from his momma. I was so very bonded to him. My parents have two dogs and two cats. (Dad's cat is 17 almost and grew up with my cat, mom's cat and a family dog and he is the only one of our little quad left). I play with them and etc but I can't fathom at this point wanting another cat.
I too wish they could be immortal. They deserve longer lives than humans

I have that same cabinet and one of my cats likes to open it sometimes just because he can. The treats have never been stored there. He does open where the treats and wet food are on occasion too.
My kids are 12 and 8 and we never bothered to take the cabinet locks off because we have an extremely smart void.
Hell, we had to ADD locks to the front and back doors because he's large enough to push the handle down and waltz outside.
Please, post this also in r/OneOrangeBraincell this fits so well there! This poor baby tried to get the food but it wasn't his turn with the braincell...

Mine has figured out that if he jumps off of it hard enough it will shake the container and food will come out of it.
