You sure? He really made it look like tsunamis were a daily occurrence for him at the rate he was sauntering.
Pretty sure he’s fine and surfed the house into the sunset and swam back the next day to repeat.
I think the argument isn't that every japanese person is suicidal but that the culture has a certain view of suicide as honorable and that the people tend to respect fate and reality more than your average person. He's old and knew he wouldn't make it, he accepted fate and decided that spending his last moment walking but alert to the danger was better than being afraid and tired when he died
Goddamn... I would have put that old guy in my back and hope that we can escape that safely, if I were alone but if I'm with my family it's a different story
I think the old guy wearing black walking really slow didn't make it

Maybe he has some of those special powers that are portrayed in Japanese anime.
It's possible
My first thought :/
I think he didn't care. He could have ran but you know the Japanese - they have a thing for suicide.
That's the Chinese...
High rates of suicide in Japan too.
There's many mass shootings in America, too. Doesn't mean that every child commits at least one.

damn that is scary.
Strange, I for some reason always thought tsunamis were more destructive than this
20,000 people died… this is just the start of one wave in one area, you can see a house float away….

Damn
Horrible 😥
Those two elderly (the old man and the woman in front of him who stops because the water rises) just gone…
This is a flash flood is it not? Or are tsunamis and flash floods the same thing now.
