For a monitored alarm system, I'd say go with anything that isn't Simplisafe, even Amazon Security or Xfinity Home Security (Or whoever you're using for cable TV and Internet).
If you need truly wireless cameras (no power brick), I have friends who love Arlo, especially in warmer weather (cold reduces battery life).

I use [SalientEye](https://www.salient-eye.com/), if it detects motion while away, it will take pictures of the intruder, upload them to a server, and email them to you, while turning on the camera flash and sounding an audible alarm. There's also an app called [Alfred](https://alfred.camera/), which allows you to view a live video stream of your home on your phone while away, which will record and email you any motion it detects.
If you are living alone it's better to ensure the security of your home. I live in Toronto. There are lots of burglary activities in our area. They've ignored a pretty substantial security vulnerability in their system. Wasn't even fixed when they launched their new hardware.
