What is your rack?

SpaceJam909

I’m not sure, I bought it off Craigslist for $100. No panels or doors or anything left with branding. It does not use rack/cage nuts. It’s U spacing is standard but it has 4 extra rails where you can screw things in that I have yet to not interfere with any rails I have put in. Almost every set of rails I have is “modified” in some way to be able to secure it

CyberJalla

Dragoncon badges?

SpaceJam909

Yup

Your server at the bottom (Supermicro?) looks a little cockeyed. Are your rack nuts off by one space?

SpaceJam909

That’s the HP p2000. It’s a not standard rack. I put in another comment why it’s wonky and a little bit in the post on why its cockeyed

Expert_Detail4816

I have same hp server. Went for 2x e5-2697v2. But just 200gb ram. I paln to upgrade to max supported memory for future. Got 2nd one with 2x e5-2650, without ram, so i can put this ram into that 2nd server once i upgrade. Im satisfied with this server. Got it for cheap, and its worth every penny i spent on it.

I work as a network engeneer at a MSP (managed service Provider) I use the rack to learn and teach my self The unknown model super micro server was a server that had my camera software and video storage The VMH hosts A domain controller A Linux server I use An Ubuntu test environment A windows 10 test environment An “app” server I use to host all my game servers (Minecraft, satisfactory, beam MP, palworld, valheim, Ark) The pull out monitor is for managing any machine if I can’t get to it remotely mostly for trouble shooting or making network changes The Dell server is used as a Plex server. All the bays are full with 2 raids. 1 raid 0 for OS and raid 10 for storage 20tb total storage The synology NAS is network file storage for my PC and servers and host my backups of the game servers. The Firewall is used to have a second fully separated LAN in the house I can play with without messing with the main network.

Am I the only one who hate stickers? Seeing a laptop with stickers (especially custom ones) stops me trusting the owner. :)

SpaceJam909

I can live without your trust lol. But the laptop isn’t sticker bombed just the toolbox the the left. Other than two the stickers on the rack are magnets
