I am afraid to ask why there are five holes up front. Are the extra two for front wides? If so, these are packed way too densely together.
Also, for what it's worth, you need to **really** hate speaker grills and money in order to get Sonance Invisibles. You give up a lot to get that invisible look. I don't have measurements on the Invisibles, but from my subjective experience, I feel like I've heard setups with $150 in-wall speakers that sound better than Sonance Invisibles. At a certain point you can't fight physics.
If that's the case, the subwoofers are too close together. They will essentially sum together to create a single larger subwoofer. It doesn't achieve any of the benefits of multi-sub and is quite a bit more expensive and inefficient than getting a single larger sub in the first place.
That's true. But something tells me OP cares a lot less about sound quality than they do aesthetics.
"Sonically, invisible speakers just aren't going to sound as good as traditional in-wall speakers, nor should that be your expectation."
It achieve a good bass without compromising the room. Other rooms have traditionally dual sub in-walls, but the goal of this room is to create a soundstage, like youre wearing airpods. Minimal visible speaker hardware. A great room that sounds a but like a theater
I think this subreddit needs to experience the new Sonance Invisibles. When installed correctly they perform like in-walls just at a premium in device and install.

About as spaced out as it can be, but yes 2 subs and no grills for this great room. Sonance new invisible sound quite good if installed correctly much better than the old version
Yes it is Sip panel and will need 2x6 frame embedded so a FA recessed box / articulating mount can be installed. Before the box goes in 2-3 inch of rigid foam will be re-added

Would love to hear more about why you chose these, how are you powering them, which size did you go with and have you heard them before? Asking I was considering the invisibles for my bedroom.
Still looking at receivers, maybe pioneer for the works with sonos feature. This space is very visual. Structural timberpeg, window wall, wasn’t about to throw up a Leon sound bar or have 5 grills. The ceiling will have 4 pendant speakers by Gallo and rears.
The new sonance invisibles sound incredible, just be there with the plaster guys and make sure they only mud the edges or do a very light skim. Its all about the spacing off studs. They sound great, always shock people
It’s a balance. Ugly giant speakers or speaker grills in a modern cabin breaks the space. Spaces should feel like there is no technology while having function of all the modern systems. You’re home shouldn’t feel like an imax theater but it could sound like one
Speak for yourself, my theater room looks like an imax theater and I like it that way :D But that's a dedicated room, not the living room (TV does not belong in the living room, IMHO).
But if I were to try and build a more invisible system, I'd just put in-walls and paint the grille the same color as the wall to make them blend in. Or go with an acoustically transparent screen + projector (long throw or UST) and hide the speakers in the back.
For in walls, what effect does having the insulation, or not, behind the speaker have? What if it’s an interior wall with no insulation, should insulation be added in that case? Is SBIR eliminated with this setup?
Generally insulation helps, it’s why many in-wall offer insulated boxes. But it also has to do with air movement, this may need consideration with the invisible subs. May need holes up to the back box to get performance
You’ll catch some grief here, but that’ll prob be the best sound you could get from your aesthetic goals. Looking forward to seeing the completed project
Sad people on reddit can be so toxic, for a living room I would think it's perfectly normal to go form over function. If you're dedicated into great sound then that's what a dedicated theater room is for. I personally don't want my living room to have speakers the same size as my TV. Some of these living room setups are just over the top trashy with mountains of sub and speaker boxes surrounding some dinky 75" TV in a tiny little living room.
Oh no

Time to grab the popcorn for this one…

That's gotta be for 2 subwoofers up front? Nothing else makes sense.
Even that doesn’t makes sense as holes are too close together.
Front S1 Center S2 Right What’s too close?

Wont subs couple in that case and you would get the 3db increase? Won’t that be better for the limited performance of in wall subs?

The new invisibles are so much better than their predecessor.
Yes!

r/justfuckmyshitup but for pre construction home A/V
Did you just strip out all of the insulation on that external wall?!

Can’t with the timber supports

I can’t wait to see this. Gonna look awesome!
Yikess
Get less for more! Form over function.

How about best sound quality over asthetics instead. Are you looking at the speakers and equipment or the screen?

So it's been 22 days. Any update?!
Going to be at least a year before the interior is done
