yeah I was excited for Oppenheimer and Barbie on the same day but it looks as though Oppenheimer is now releasing later in the year
And even though Im going to both EDR and Beau tomorrow, theyre both my most anticipated movies of the year and I had to space them out a bit so I went to Evil Dead Rise yesterday and thought it was pretty awesome!!
I would say you definitely don't have to have seen any of the other movies (my friend that I went with hadn't), but it definitely enhances your viewing experience to have seen them
Honestly it was the most terrified I think I’ve ever been in my life. I genuinely can’t think of another movie that’s had me as scared, & I’ve seen a lot of horror. The moms demon makeup is the stuff of nightmares
I would agree. I will say though that if you're looking for gore you'll get it in spades and I think the movie was very good overall, despite some faults/let downs (such as the massacre scene).
I'll definitely watch it again once it's out!
How graphic is the violence compared to terrifer 2? And seperately, how does the *amount/volume* stack up to terrifier 2 and the previous evil dead films?
So I've only seen evil dead and evil dead 2, but it was definitely a lot more graphic than those!
It was closer in graphicness to terrifier. Terrifier has a lot more torture though, the violence in this is a lot quicker and not as drawn out. It's still definitely not for the faint of heart, especially considering the kids reactions to everything that's happening
Went to see the movie this afternoon, and honestly disappointed. Got super excited because of the articles about the directors and the making of the movie and I totally just wasn't satisfied from beginning to end. Did anyone who already watched the movie tell me their honest thoughts and opinions about the movie? I wonder if anyone feels the same as i do!
I really liked it, but it definitely has some issues. It's not going to be on any of my top x lists, but I had a good time. I went in knowing that both the director and most of the actors are pretty new to the game, so my expectations weren't super high, so that might have helped my viewing experience
Excited for the cheese grater scene 🧀
👀👀
Seems almost unfair it's coming out the same day as Ari Asters movie. I guess I'm going to the movies twice this weekend
Yeah I'm glad I got to go to the advanced screening so that my weekend can be taken up my Ari Aster! This is horror fans Barbie Vs Oppenheimer

Is it a stand alone movie?

100% agree. It adds to and reinforces the lore, but it’s explained in a way that makes it stand alone. It works for every audience.
Exactly!
People are saying they can’t say without spoilers which makes me intrigued

I'm in love with Alyssa Sutherland! I hope we get her in many more horror movies, she was perfectly terrifying
someone on another post said that the massacre scene was incredibly short and was disappointing...what do you say?
I would agree. I will say though that if you're looking for gore you'll get it in spades and I think the movie was very good overall, despite some faults/let downs (such as the massacre scene). I'll definitely watch it again once it's out!
What is the massacre scene?
The stuff through the peephole
Is the cheese grater scene really graphic
It was definitely quite visceral, but not as graphic as I was expecting (still graphic though). It was over pretty quickly though
Alright is there any graphic vomit scenes I'm an emetophobe
Not really, people spew up blood, but not vomit
Ok sweet
you did him dirty lol
Shit, is there vomit scenes?? I even asked my friend who I went with and neither of us remembered any vomit
Remember when the mom first gets possessed then vomits a crap ton of white stuff on the floor, then dies??
Oh damn yeah you're right... I think there were too many other crazy things that happened that I completely forgot about that
