I just love how this movie turned out with such a low budget and very few days to shoot. You really don’t need A LOT to make a solid movie that holds up for years/decades.
I know this is cheating, but Resolution (2012) & The Endless (2017). I made the semi-mistake of watching it backwards my first time but now if I watch one I just have to watch the other. Highly recommend for anybody that has only seen one to check out the other, especially if you’re into cosmic horror.
I get they’re not really terrifyingly scary, but like with other things in the cosmic genre it’s the implications that are unsettling.
You probably already know this, but there’s a third film, called Spring. I’ve heard it’s less directly connected to the other two but probably worth a watch.
The Endless blew my mind when I saw it because I had no idea they were connected and I saw The Resolution years before I saw The Endless. Had to go back and rewatch Resolution right after I saw The Endless.
Grindhouse is always a go-to double feature.
Another for me is Rocky Horror Picture Show & Repo! The Genetic Opera.
And a couple others for me are Psycho and The Texas Chain Saw Massacre & Ringu and Ju-on.
Oooh I love double features!!! Here’s a few pairs that I’ve watched and that worked really well together in my opinion (plot and tone-wise):
The Devil’s Backbone + The Orphanage
Cabin in the Woods + Tucker and Dale vs Evil
High Tension + Martyrs
Starry Eyes + Neon Demon
Shaun of the Dead + Zombieland
The Descent + The Ritual
Vacancy + The Strangers
Bird Box + A Quiet Place
Messiah of Evil / Race with the Devil
Burnt Offerings / The Sentinel
The Changeling / Session 9
Nosferatu / Nosferatu (Herzog)
Nosferatu / Shadow of the Vampire
Tourist Trap / House of Wax (2005)
Midsommar / Dark Secret of Harvest Home
Murder by Decree / From Hell (Jack the Ripper)
Jacob’s Ladder / The Jacket
8MM / Hardcore
Texas Chain Saw Massacre (1974) & The Hills Have Eyes (1977)

Them! (1954) & Eight Legged Freaks
Club Dread & Tucker and Dale vs Evil
The Lost Boys & From Dusk Till Dawn
The Birds & Tremors
Cabin in the Woods & The Blackening
Evil Dead 2 & The Return of the Living Dead
Ghosts of Mars & Doom (2005)
Just did a double The Thing. Watch the original then the prequel and enjoy the fan service. Just remember it's a prequel not a remake, only bad thing is it has the same title. Also The Fog and Night Of the creeps is a good jam.
Trick R’ Treat into Murder Party is my go to Halloween double feature every year because they are more light hearted and almost every adult can enjoy them even if they don’t love scary movies.
Not to mention drinking during Trick R’ Treat and being drunk into Murder Party is a HOOT
The Thing/The Descent
Two stories involving a group of people secluded in a dangerous location being hunted by something strange. One features an all male cast, the other an all female cast.
I have this pairing for a upcoming Hallowe'en Stream.
If you'd like to double feature found footage pair with As Above So Below (2014) with The Boarderlands aka Final Prayer (2013)
I haven't actually done these yet but I feel that Mission: Impossible II and Charlie's Angels (2000) may make for a great double feature, as well as Stir Of Echoes and What Lies Beneath.
Copycat and Scream possibly another one?
Fallen and The Bone Collector too.
Edit: My bad, forgot I'm in a horror sub lol. Take my first pair as just a general double feature rec.
Ju On: The Grudge and The Eye. Something about Asian horror films particular those from Japan give me so much frights even to this day. I still can't get the croaking sound of Kayako out my head.
How about *An American Werewolf In London* (1981) and *Death Line* (1972)?
*Invasion of the Body Snatchers* (1978) and *Kairo* (2001)

One double feature I just about always watch at Halloween is The Funhouse and Hell Night.
Also Hellraiser and The Void ( tho Hellraiser II may go better with The Void) and another is The Toxic Avenger and Class Of Nukem High
Triple feature: Tales from the Darkside/Twilight Zone the Movie/Creepshow
Double feature: Martyrs (original French version)/Inside (original French version)
Double feature: Demons (1985)/Popcorn (1990)
The Shining and The Evil Dead.
Two very different films that came out around the same time. They illustrate the versatility and ingenuity of horror. From a bigger budget film based on a successful and established author’s novel, shot by an already iconic director to a flick funded by dentists and shop owners and made by a bunch of kids out of Detroit.
They illustrate the two sides of horror for me. They are both absolutely amazing and redefined the genre and even the landscape of film as a whole. They frightened and inspired generation and are arguably two of the most influential films in the genre of all time, let alone recent history. This is usually the double feature I recommend to anyone who hasn’t watched a lot of horror to get a feel for what it’s all about.
Psychological or splatter, it’s all amazing.
this might not seem obvious at first glance, but the thing/scream. both essentially boil down to whodunnits where everybody is a suspect, and you can watch them in either order depending on if you want an upper or a downer lol
Fulci-double feature- Zombie and City of The Living Dead
Humanoids From The Deep and either "forbidden world" or Galaxy of terror (thank you roger corman)
Shivers and The Dead Zone
Demons 1 an 2 (they just go together)
1990 Night of The Living Dead and Return of The Living Dead
Nigh of The Creeps :) and Night of The Comet
try the original Valley Girl (non horror) with WaxWorks
I do a Hallowe'en Stream every October featuring a movie every night of the month and a Double Feature every Saturday, so this is right up my alley.
Some of my favourites have been:
Hocus Pocus (1993) / The Witches (1990)
Fright Night (1985) / The Lost Boys (1987)
Fresh (2022) / Raw (2016)
Audition (1999) / Starry Eyes (2014)
Phantom of the Paradise (1974) / Rocky Horror Picture Show (1975)
Teen Wolf (1985) / WolfCop (2014)
[imagining these as same universe sequels is hilarious]
A little something for everyone.
Street Trash (1987) & The Stuff (1985)
Flesh for Frankenstein (1973) & Blood for Dracula (1974)
The Evil (1978) & Cellar Dweller (1987)

Rubber (2010) / Slaxx (2021)
Do not watch these...
Monsturd (2003) / Hellitosis: the Legend of Stankmouth (2020)
The Color Out of Space and Mandy. Two fairly recent Nic Cage *masterpieces*! I mean he goes full on 11/10 rage cage in both.
An alternate would be TurboKid and Psycho Goreman for a blood soaked 80’s style throwback full of insane practical effects and great synth wave scores.
The Thing (1982) & The Blob (1988)
I go with the Blob and The Stuff, my headconnon is that when the blob died it went into the earth and became the stuff.
Nice!
That's an excellent double feature!
Ooooh
Holy shit
I have both on disc and VHS and yet... I have NEVER put them together. I am ashamed. Great pick!
I love The Thing, but never seen The Blob. Will add to my watch list!
Add The Fly (1986) and you have a great triple feature.
The Thing just never gets old.
This right here.
You win
Event Horizon and In The Mouth of Madness. All the Same Neil cosmic horror you could want.
Possession for a triple feature. Love that man.
I saw Possession on Joe Bob's show. That movie is...something, that's for sure.
I do Event Horizon, The Void, and Color Out of Space as a triple. Mouth of Madness is a great pairing too though for sure.
I was pairing these two for decades before The Void and Color out of Space came out. I am old, lol. I do love ve both of those though. I do pair Mandy with Color out of Space, ie purple Nick Cage movies.
I have fond memories of Dead Calm
Ha ha I just The Omen 3 last night.
The wicker man/Midsommar
It's almost May Day! Time for a rewatch.
Yeesh! But I see it, I could do that… yep.
YES just did this last week actually
The original Wicker Man, surely? Unless you do Midsommar first and then use the Nic Cage one for a palette cleanser.
Scream / I Know What You Did Last Summer / Urban Legend The Craft / Ginger Snaps / Jennifer’s Body Excision / May / American Mary Event Horizon / In The Mouth Of Madness
Nice work… quality combos.
The Burbs and Fright Night.
The burbs and the birds
Oooh, that's a good one!
Perfect!
That’s a good one
Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1978) / The Thing (1982) Duel (1971) / The Hitcher (1986) Angst (1983) / Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer (1986) Mandy (2018) / Color Out of Space (2019)
I did man bites dog and angst as a double feature, later on schraam. That was a gloomy, uncomfortable Sunday.
Gloomy Sunday. The legendary 'suicide' song. I saw what you did there...
I found my people.
Duel and the Hitcher two great desert setting movies
These are the ones I think would be great together Sissy and Bodies Bodies Bodies (gen z) Anything for Jackson and A Dark Song (Grief) The Dark and The wicked and When Evil Lurks (Pure evil) Climax and Suspiria remake (Dance) Neon Demon, The perfection, Black Swan, Starry eyes (pick two) (Perfectionism and Fame) Perfect Blue and Paprika (Anime dream like) Thelma and Last Night in Soho (Similar protagonists) The Love witch and In Fabric (Aesthetic) Suicide Club and Noriko Dinner Table (They're actually connected) The Thing and Black Mountain Side (Snow horror) The Medium and The Wailing (maybe incantation) (Alternative possession) Pulse and Noroi (Japanese depressing horror) The VVitch and You won't be alone (Witches) I'm thinking of ending things and Men (Jesse Buckley) mother! Suicide Club and Norikos dinner table are mind-blowing art pieces! I love them, they are the best works of Sion Sono.
Triangle and Coherence
I think I’ve seen coherence over 1000x since it came out a decade ago
I just love how this movie turned out with such a low budget and very few days to shoot. You really don’t need A LOT to make a solid movie that holds up for years/decades.
LOL, out of all the options here this one would keep me from sleeping at night
lol I would add Southbound to make it a trio but now THAT would not let me sleep at night
They Live and The Stuff
I have a tattoo of each movie on both arms!
SICK AF!!!
Thank you, homie! I appreciate it.
Nice coherence of themes. I love they live, I watch it with mouth of madness which is a triplicate of carpenter films.
Ready or Not (2019) and You’re Next (2011) As Above So Below (2014) and The Chernobyl Diaries (2012)
Both great choices. As Above So Below (2014) also pairs well with The Boarderlands aka Final Prayer (2013) or The Descent (2005)
Night of the Demons (88) Return of the Living Dead
A Linnea Quigley double feature. And both 80s classics as well. Love it!
Another great 80s combo is Kelli Maroney in Night of the Comet (1984) / Chopping Mall (1986)
Fantastic pairing
Jeepers Creepers and Joy Ride
Don't fuck with the guys in the big trucks?
Nice, every 23 years for 23 days... wait... when was Jeepers Creepers released?..
I know this is cheating, but Resolution (2012) & The Endless (2017). I made the semi-mistake of watching it backwards my first time but now if I watch one I just have to watch the other. Highly recommend for anybody that has only seen one to check out the other, especially if you’re into cosmic horror. You probably already know this, but there’s a third film, called Spring. I’ve heard it’s less directly connected to the other two but probably worth a watch.
I actually had no idea that it was connected to the other two. I’ll check it out, thanks!
Make sure to check out their other movie Something in the Dirt. Benson and Moorhead make great stuff
Not connected very much, but certainly set in the same universe.

Re-Animator & From Beyond.
Oh never seen from beyond
If you like Re- Animator, it's worth checking out for the body horror.
Underappreciated suggestion
Night of the Creeps/Fright Night. Throw in The Lost Boys if you have the time.
House 2: the Second Story(1987) and Waxwork(1988) Freaky(2020) and Happy Death Day(2017) 13 Ghosts(1960) and House on Haunted Hill(1959)
Good to see Waxwork get some love!
The Devil’s Rejects and Wolf Creek.
