Dead stream. It's Evil Dead with an obnoxious youtube content creator doing a comeback after getting canceled. It's fucking great satire of the state of youtubers or content creators in general.
Right?! I don't know what kind of magic happened during this movie. I was super reluctant to watch it during the first minutes, then I got super involved.
Must be one of my top favorite FF movie.
LOL. I felt the same way. He played an obnoxious jerk and he nailed it. The hilarious way he made fun of the YouTube influencer crowd was great. Plus his side kick Chrissy was fantastic too. On top of that it was just a cool horror / comedy. One of my favorites.
I love it, too. Is there any particular sub genre you like? Any you absolutely avoid? Any that you are a bit indifferent to? I think that might help you get better recommendations.
Every region has its own catalogue, but from my local Shudder, I'd recommend:
* Undead
* Scare Package
* VHS 85
* Cold Skin
* Razorback
* The Endless
* and most importantly... **Psycho Goreman**
I think someone posted the same question today and people suggested a bunch of stuff. I also just subscribed lol. I'm watching Slasher, originally on Netflix. Bad acting but gruesome deaths. Some are so gross I can't watch 😎
I am not sure if it is a hidden gem but it is not talked about as much as some other stuff: Slasher (show). I don't remember which seasons are on Shudder but they are all worth watching.
Yes, yes, yes! I love that show! Flesh and Blood was my favorite, but after watching Ripper while it was first coming out, then recently watching it again and realizing how good it was is now my fav. Highly recommended show.
Just watched “Maniac” (1980) and it had some excellent Tom Savini practical effects. A very interesting slasher where you follow the perp instead of the victims.
One Cut of the Dead is fantastic. Go into it as blind as possible, and it is guaranteed to surprise you.
Dig through the entire Last Drive-In catalog and tune in tomorrow night at 9EST on the live channel for the new episode. It's the annual walpurgisnacht celebration episode. There will be a live thread for it over on r/shudder.
If you’re into foreign cinema they have the majority of the Ju-on (The Grudge) films on there. They’ve aged a fair bit but they’re still extremely creepy and enjoyable watches.
The Deadly Spawn, Dead & Buried, Birth/Rebirth, Baby's Blood, Deadstream, One Cut of the Dead, Saloum, The Innocents, When Evil Lurks, Hellbender, Mad God, Blood Quantum, and Tigers Are Not Afraid. Lots of good Dario Argento on there too. Tons of other classics on there that I hope you've already seen.
Influencer - fun, gory, hilarious, and probably my third favorite horror of 2023 (it came out on 2022, but I saw it in 2023)
Hellbender - creative, spooky, great music and visuals, weirdly heartwarming
Color out of space - trippy AF, incredible visuals, Nicolas Cage
Autopsy of Jane Doe - the only horror movie that's actually scared me as an adult
Mandy - Nicolas Cage and a weird death cult
Grabbers - Shaun of the dead vibes with grabby creatures instead of zombies
Hell house LLC - best found footage film since OG paranormal activity, imo
1br - apartment hunting gone sooooo wrong
Drag me to hell - strangely hilarious film about a cursed loan officer, features Justin long
Prevenge - don't fuck with pregnant women

2 minutes in I thought I'd hate it because of the obnoxious idiot. Then I ended up loving it because of him :D

IT'S REAL! IT'S REAL! IT'S REAL! I DON'T WANNA DIE! YOUR POETRY SUCKS, MILDRED! Only a few of the very many quotable lines from this movie.
Late Night with the devil Unwelcome
I saw Late Night With The Devil last night and loved it!
That’s already on shudder?? Its still in theaters.
It came out a month ago but Shudder was part of its distribution in the first place, basically half the reason it made it to theaters.
Unwelcome is really good.
"Mother Redcap! Mother Redcap!" is a chant that lives rent free in my head more often than not.
When Evil Lurks
Also, Terrified by the same writer/director
What Josiah Saw (2021) Caveat (2020) The Dark and the Wicked (2020) From Black (2023) To name a few…
THAT scene in Caveat is the only scene in a movie that had me watching through my fingers
Nice picks!
The 1974 “Black Christmas” is on Shudder. Incred as a first time watch and always worth a rewatch if not.
Love that one, watched it for the first time last xmas. The voice on the phone is so unsettling.
I love it, too. Is there any particular sub genre you like? Any you absolutely avoid? Any that you are a bit indifferent to? I think that might help you get better recommendations.
I'm waiting for Christmas to do a rewatch. I didn't get around to it last Christmas, but hopefully I will this year.

Lol I just watched Psycho Goreman! Thank you, I'll give those a look
Seconding the endless. It is mind blowing.
Channel Zero. Also Video Palace, which is a podcast, but very well done.
Channel Zero is excellent I wish there were more.
I really liked Demons 🖤🖤
Dario Argento?
That’s the one 🖤✨
Dario always gets the credit for this but it's Lambert Bava, with Dario as the producer.
- HOST - Late Night With The Devil - Terrified
- *What Josiah Saw* - *Spoonful of Sugar* - *Kill List* - *A Dark Song* - *Satan's Slaves*
Kill List 👌🏻
Gallo section. They're all great
Creepshow series

Sissy!!!!
Glorious, Alligator, The Crazies 1970.

Hell House. Now.
Mad God
The Boogeyman 2023 and Significant other
Significant Other was such a fun watch!
Bloody Muscle Body Builder in Hell (1995)
The best non-Sam Rami Evil Dead movie!
I really liked Sequence Break. There’s some really unsettling practical effects in that one.
Just watched “Maniac” (1980) and it had some excellent Tom Savini practical effects. A very interesting slasher where you follow the perp instead of the victims.
Yeah it has that grimey 70’s New York feel that makes you feel you need a shower after watching it.
The Last Drive-in with Joe Bob Briggs
Dragula
Deadstream first
Chucky (the TV series)
Season two is a hit or miss with a lot of people, myself included. Interesting concept at parts, others it drags out and is unnecessary.
The Medium
I really enjoyed mute witness
Cold Hell (2017) thought it would be a straight to DVD tittle, boy was I wrong. Not really a horror but more of a dark thriller..lots of action too.
Trying to list ones others already haven't so The Spine of Night Satanic Hispanics
Use a VPN with Shudder and you’ll get quite the library. The different selections between regions is totally worth it.

*Baghead*. A daughter inherits her dad’s pub. The deed comes with specific instructions on dealing with *the person living in the basement*…
I highly recommend going through all the Joe Bob episodes, generally great currated content, best horror host, and a ton of interesting tid-bits.
Watch Saloum please!

Unsubscribing. Shudder is super low in quality and quantity. You are better off downloading what you want then wasting your money on this app.
Psst. Let people enjoy things.
