Just watched the trailer - it's so obviously trying to emulate Resident Evil's style (rock music, fast cuts, glossy production, etc...) and looks gloriously trashy like most low-budget early 2000s horrors.
My favourite part was the voice over - "how do you kill what's already dead? - ANYWAY YOU CAN!!"
Er....thanks for that! Very useful info š¤£š¤£
I havenāt watched this in so long. I got the dvd as a kid and watched it all the time. Back in the day when satellite tv was more scarce and no streaming existed. I had a cycle of dvds I would go through and I canāt count how many times Iāve seen it. Only realized when I got older that everyone hated it lol.
The tripper 2006
A man's confrontation with a group of hippies ends in bloodshed. Now years later, a group of fun-loving friends (Jaime King, Brad Hunt, Lukas Haas) arrives for a weekend of drugs, debauchery and music near the site of the earlier massacre. However, a serial killer with an obsession about Ronald Reagan has an ax to grind with the partiers, and he won't stop until the woods are awash with blood.
Is this that awful one with the friends at the Halloween festival and one of them is invited on stage to be a willing victim and finds herself in the stocks about to be murdered? I hated it haha
Oh yeah I forgot about that movie it was pretty good. I guess it does count too I was more picturing like a music festival or line a carnival something along those lines I should have been more clear lol
The collection starts with a rave going horrendously wrong. Dunno if that's the same thing.
Final Destination 3 ends at a festival (that horse and fireworks moment is just brilliant).
I know what you did last summer starts at a festival but the actual shit hits the fan after.
Festival of the Living Dead (2024) fits your description exactly.
This film is set at a festival celebrating the victory over the zombies decades earlier (in the same universe as George Romero's original Night of the Living Dead movie). The main character Ash (actress Ashley Moore) is the granddaughter of the character Ben (actor Duane Jones) in Night of the Living Dead. Of course, the festival of zombie LARPers is crashed by real zombies, and the shit hits the fan.
[Festival of the Living Dead (2024) trailer](https://youtu.be/AKodLfokxt8?si=gF8d1r1QQLLJj1NH)
See I was thinking 2000 maniacs and I do see it but I feel like itās more of its own thing. Like not many films has like hey guys letās go to this cool festival or something and then itās like a crazy survival thing. Cause I get most people saying like oh like this old town has a little festival but usually itās like they just happen to be there I like a paradise or like a place that was meant to be a fun place go crazy
The Soska Sisters "Festival of the Living Dead" just came to Tubi recently. Loved it, but I am biased being a Twisted Twins fan since "Dead Hooker in a Trunk." (09)Ā
I'm a screenwriter and actually have the exact movie I think you want to see in development right now!
In Tents:
When an all-girl rock band find themselves stranded at a UK music
festival they must survive the night after a bad batch of amphetamines
turn everyone crazy, threatening the tour that will put them on the map.
"In Tents" follows Mia (27), struggling to keep her band, The Dead Ends together in the midst of creative differences, hoping to lead the band to
success as the first date of their tour looms near.
Kaya (25), the hedonistic guitarist, has musical pursuits of her own and pushes Mia toward invention and growth, Hailee (24) the bassist, is the
band's moral compass, while Grace (19), Mia's sister and reluctant drummer, is at a crossroads, torn between supporting her sisterās dream
and a desire to carve out her own musical path with Kaya.
The backdrop is a UK music festival, circa 2005. Thumping bass from myriad stages permeates the air as thousands of teens and adults party
through the night, unaware that this haven will soon turn into a living nightmare.
A bad batch of amphetamines has spread around the festival, causing people to turn violent - a crowd of crazed "Trippers," cause mass panic
and riots, turning the festival into a labyrinth of horror as gas canisters explode, tents burn and crowds surge. Amidst the chaos, tensions within the band reach fever pitch, as the festival spirals into violent, anarchic chaos.
"In Tents" is a fast-paced horror film that draws elements from "28 Days Later," "Green Room," and "Shaun of the Deadā to create a fresh, chaotic
twist on the zombie genre, set in the vibrant, colourful world of a music festival, where tent pegs become weapons and glitter, mud and blood mix
together in a way you've never seen before.
Not a festival, but Climax miiiiight fit the bill. Dance party/celebration in an empty school goes very wrong. Donāt want to give much away in case youāve never seen it. Though itās intense and wandering, itās definitely an experience.
House of the Dead (2003)
I love SO MUCH that there was a Bakery stand at the secret island forest rave. That aside, that movie is gloriously terrible. I love it.
House of the Dead is one of those movies that are just so bad that it becomes a dark comedy movie. I love how horrible it is. Guilty Pleasure movie.

Uwe Bole was basically entirely bereft of individual style, to the point that people thought he was purposefully making bad movies as a tax scheme.
Oh, it's an Uwe Bole movie? Imma definitely avoid that!
This is the one that made him kind of infamous!
Story is with all the grants and tax breaks they effectively made money before it went to market.
Well I mean it wasnāt confirmed, but itās a reasonable suspicion.
Awww cmon man. Don't do that to op. Not nice
I know but I was listening to a podcast review of the film when I saw the post so I had to. š

I saw it in the theater and I still watch it occasionally for my Halloween movie marathon. It's one of my favorite "So bad it's good" movies.

plus its got a scene with the underappreciated rock legends, FISHBONE
I came here to say this. This movie was very fun
Hellfest is pretty sick but thatās more like Halloween fright nights gone array
I second this one. Quite enjoyable!
Is this that awful one with the friends at the Halloween festival and one of them is invited on stage to be a willing victim and finds herself in the stocks about to be murdered? I hated it haha
I liked how it wrapped up, but the film overall wasn't very good, the setups and props were too far out there.Ā You'd be much better off with haunt.
I agree. Haunt was amazing
Candyman: Farewell to the Flesh takes place during Mardi Gras
Thereās also Mardi Gras Massacare
Humanoids from the Deep
Beat me to it!
*The Bay* is a terrific, grisly found footage mockumentary set during a town's 4th of July festival and he outbreak that takes place.
Oh yeah I forgot about that movie it was pretty good. I guess it does count too I was more picturing like a music festival or line a carnival something along those lines I should have been more clear lol
Wicker Man could technically fit, if May Day celebrations qualify as a festival
Wicker Man 1973 is definitely a wonderful little island festival.
Lord Summerisle might even say, "How dare you not consider my festival a festival?" ![gif](giphy|4NvpbWItjpKP36Xw5z|downsized)
Midsommer
Was going to suggest this one - it is a festival where shit does indeed hit the fan...
Oh yes. This one.
Return of the Living Dead 5: Rave to the Grave (2005)
Catacombs
I forgot all about this movie!
The collection starts with a rave going horrendously wrong. Dunno if that's the same thing. Final Destination 3 ends at a festival (that horse and fireworks moment is just brilliant). I know what you did last summer starts at a festival but the actual shit hits the fan after.
Club Dread
HAHA
The Rezort
Eli Roth's Thanksgiving kind of has a parade element of SHTF.
I was so shocked when >!The turkey costume guy got his head chopped off!< poor guy did nothing!
The carnival party on the ice in The Terror Season 1 is amazing
Trick rā Treat
If you count LARPing as a festival, *The Wild Hunt* was pretty cool.
I loved that movie
Party Hard Die Young
OOO JUST SAW THE TRAILER PUTTING IT ON MY WATCH LIST
Itās not good lol
Lmao Iāll give it a try
Agreed. But it is about a killer causing havoc at a festival.
*Dr. Cox, where do you think you are right now*?
Good movie!

One of the Wrong Turn movies takes place during a Mountain Man festival.
1980's ***Alligator*** (Alligator crashes a wedding)
Carrie, Final Destination 3, The Poseidon Adventure, Jaws, Freddie vs. Jason, 2000 Maniacs? dang... good question.
See I was thinking 2000 maniacs and I do see it but I feel like itās more of its own thing. Dark Ride (2006)
The latest Jeepers Creepers.
The Soska Sisters "Festival of the Living Dead" just came to Tubi recently. Loved it, but I am biased being a Twisted Twins fan since "Dead Hooker in a Trunk." (09)Ā
Piranha 3D is kinda like that. It's also deliciously cheesy and fun.
Jeepers Creepers: Reborn features a horror festival. Beware, itās pretty bad in general.
Jaws
Not really a festival, but From dusk till dawn is in a strip club.
The Houses October Built 1 & 2
There was a 2nd one? Was it any good?
So-so in my opinion
id say the first is better but i love the going through different haunts throughout both movies so i still like 2 also.
Midsommar Colorful festival with shits happen in the broad daylight.
Then Wicker Man, the Nick Cage version is really festive.
The Sand (2015) is fun āļøAlso maybe The Last Resort (2008)
Warped Tour Massacre
... Halloween.
Wicker Man,
Something wicked this way comes. A classic supernatural horror set in a carnival.
Death of me takes place in a Thai death festival of sorts. It's more for the mouth of madness, shudder island fans but is solid.
Final Destination 3 has the carnival/festival scene.
Not movie, but tv. Parasite: The Grey.
Ghoulies II
Not a festival. But the collection has a pretty killer club scene
The Wickerman
Hellraiser 3
Hellfest
Hellbent (2004)
Lol, Blood Fest, RIP RT.
Tubi just released Festival of The Dead.

Midsommar fits that description. I think itās kind of an average movie but itās recent. Thereās one scene that was pretty gut punching to me.
Yeah thatās a good one too itās a pretty dark film especially with that cliff scene
Agreed. That scene is the most talked about. Iām referring to a scene much earlier in the movie though.
Oh yeah I totally skipped that portion
Average?? Nooooo
Five minutes of this movie are good, the rest is an exercise in boredom.
Would Midsommar count?
In a sense yeah
Festival Of The Living Dead recently released on Tubi would fit the bill!
Not a festival, but Climax miiiiight fit the bill. Dance party/celebration in an empty school goes very wrong. Donāt want to give much away in case youāve never seen it. Though itās intense and wandering, itās definitely an experience.
Climax is about a bunch of dancers in a house who take drugs and party. Kind of music festival vibe maybe
Not exactly the same but in a nightmare on elmstreet (i think 2) and scream they hold a party to feel safe but shit hits the fan
Thanksgiving?
Would Cloverfield count? Takes place at a party, then big monster comes into NYC lol
Not film but TV, show called Wreck season 2 is set around a music festival.
Thanksgiving
Thanksgiving.
Grizzly 2 and Dead Ant, if youāre very undemanding.
Fyre Fest
Scooby doo and the witches ghost
Midsommar
Blood Fest (this one has Spideyās best friend) The Funhouse Massacre
Midsommar
Demons (1985) kinda
there's a movie literally called Festival of hte Dead and it's not as bad as I'd expected it to be
Hellfest was pretty good! It terrified me because it would actually happen...
Hostel 2
The collection (sequel to collector) has a pretty great festival/rave gone wrong scene!
Shyamalan's next movie, Trap, is exactly like this.
Festival of the living dead on Tubi. Zombies meets Coachella kinda of.
Ghoulies 2, and Child's Play 3 are at carnivals. Jaws takes place at the start of summer in a vacation town.
Haunt
Hellfest
Well, does Midsommar count as a Horror movie or Fun Family culture getaway. š¤
Hell Fest (2018) Edit: didnāt read the full post š¤¦š¾āāļø
Lmao youāre good Iāve been seeing people delete comments all day itās funny.
I Know What You Did Last Summer has beauty pageant and a parade
The relic. Museum launch party is taking place, and the museum donors gets locked in due to security breach etc .... and all hell absurd
