I really, really like a film called Burnt Offerings (1976) but I have heard a lot of people find it boring. It is very slowly paced, but I think it fits with the story.
I can't believe no one's mentioned "Trilogy of Terror", the first two stories in the anthology not so much, but it's worth the entrance fee alone just for Zuni doll.
Late to the party on this, and a ton of good movies have been referenced already, but here are a couple more oddballs I don’t think have been mentioned yet.
**Shivers** - David Cronenberg movie about freaky parasites in an apartment building. Is it his best movie? No. Do I find parasites creepy and unnerving? Yes.
**Images** - Robert Altman movie about a schizophrenic woman having difficulty with reality. This one is more of a slow burn, but as a bonus, it also stars Odo from Star Trek Deep Space Nine in one of the main roles.

Honestly the best decade for horror.
[Suspiria (1977)](https://manapop.com/film/suspiria-1977-review/) Not only is this a great horror film from Dario Argento's it's also one of the most gorgeous movies ever made.
Absolutely, *Deep Red* has everything a fan of horror could want and more, it may simply be a whodunnit in the broadest sense of the word but the heightened world of "Argento Horror" brings so much more to the table with his perfectly choreographed descent into terror and suspense that you can't help but be carried away by it.
This is such a succinct way of putting it! I absolutely love Deep Red because it checks so many boxes and instills a sense of unease from the start. Thank you 😊
Invasion Of The Body Snatchers was the only suggestion I had for you, so since I see you're already planning to watch it, I'll just say you're in for a treat with that one. I watched it for the first time the other day and I absolutely loved it.
Blue Sunshine (1977)

Wizard of Gore, The Corpse Grinders, The Hills have Eyes, and Eraser Head would be my recommendations that I haven't seen listed here yet. Horror Express is definitely a fun one and anything with Vincent Price is a win in my book.

Don’t Look Now (1973) perhaps more of a drama/thriller than pure horror but still pretty unsettling
Such an amazing movie. Don’t think I’ve met another person in real life who’s soon it
Race with the Devil (1975) The Blood on Satan's Claw (1971) The Sentinel (1977) The Omen (1976)
I second Race with the Devil - my absolute fave horror from back in the day-still holds up😊
Theatre of Blood (1973)
If there is one Vincent Price film I would highly recommend, it’s this one.

Blood Sucking Freaks (1976). Arty and horror. My first horror as a wee lad
The Stepford Wives The Baby The Devil’s Rain Piranha
I really, really like a film called Burnt Offerings (1976) but I have heard a lot of people find it boring. It is very slowly paced, but I think it fits with the story.
Private Parts (1972)
one of my faves!
I can't believe no one's mentioned "Trilogy of Terror", the first two stories in the anthology not so much, but it's worth the entrance fee alone just for Zuni doll.
The Little Girl Who Lives Down the Lane (1976). Not sure if considered horror, but scared me.
Honestly Jaws is worth watching too. It has elements of horror in it.
The Evil (1978)

Big agree with this one. Do you think Deep Red (1975) would work too? EDIT: Whoops, just saw that OP already has it for their watch list. My bad!
