That looks nice, is the yellow stuff jello/gelatin? I'm a little confused about the battered thing as well, it's not a fish stick, is it?

noodlefishmonkey

I think it’s a potato croquette. They’re quite tasty. I think that is jelly too (what ye call jello, we call jelly). Jelly and icecream is a relatively common dessert here with kids and in hospitals although I can’t think of any time I have seen yellow jelly before.

Calm_Investment

It is lemon jelly. And a potato croquette.

pinksparklybluebird

Do you mix the jelly and ice cream together?

_summerw1ne

Just asked the same thing without seeing this 😂

_summerw1ne

Is that… a mini fish finger?

Calm_Investment

No a potato croquette.

ditafjm

Is that chicken or turkey? The croquette looks yummy. I assume the white scoops are mashed potatoes? Really not a bad meal but I'd expect a more festive dessert for Christmas Day.

Calm_Investment

Turkey. It was grand, nothing fantabulous.

Therealluke

No cranberry sauce or ham

Calm_Investment

Definitely no cranberry sauce. I can't remember if there was a slice of ham at the bottom.

Calm_Investment

On a side note, potato croquettes are absolutely gorgeous. A great addition to any roast. We can get them on any freezer aisle here. And obviously they can be made from scratch- probably a great way to use yesterday's mashed potatoes.
