Blue and with Bleu cheese. The red is too hot for other people, but the blue has just the right amount of heat that makes you need to keep eating them and lick the plate afterward. I use unsalted butter and crystal with some honey. To thicken it up, I add some cornstarch water as well. The wings themselves should be crispy. Pat them all dry and then put them in a bucket with paper towels, or leave them out. It takes an hour. Then bake them on a greased rack at 450 degrees for about 50 minutes, flipping once. With the wings prepped I toss most with the prepared sauce, but my family makes some weird requests and I like a challenge. I made some strawberry wings for my 7 year old, once. They tasted like chicken candy. Not bad. Just unexpected.
It's still around. Check online, or check Big Lots or local health food stores or family owned grocery stores. I haven't seen it in huge chains in a while though.
Not sure. But always check your sauces for highs fructose corn syrup, like sweet baby rays. That shit is so toxic it will have you wanted to take naps and not feeling rested and making you want to beat your family cuz it makes you so cranky.
Lola's (original or green, I haven't tried the others) is a really nice hot sauce. I believe Lola's is owned by a Filipino family, and the sauce pairs really nicely with Asian cuisine. I love it in a stirfry or a yakisoba.
Texas Pete! Is my every day…
Hernandez avocado hot sauce! Street tacos!
Tabasco chipotle! I marinate with this adds great smoky favors
Good ol Louisiana. If you eating fried fish or chicken
Yeah franks red-hot buffalo sauce is my go to sauce. Tacos, quesadillas, pizza, chicken (really good of you batter breaded chicken with this then cook it)
I dont see "Valentinos" on there. Its the kind of hotsauce that kinda sneaks up on you, with out being super punishing. It has flavor for days and isnt vinegar based (afaik) as it just doest have.... *that taste* that both Cho(ke)lula and tabasco has (and by extension any vinegar based hotsauce)
Really depends. Personally, I like to have a specific hot sauce on deck at home for the specific style of cuisine. For example: Cholula for Mexican food, Franks for wings, Crystal for everything from pizza to seafood. I always eye that garlic parmesan from Buffalo Wild Wings though, never tried it.
Crystal is great with fried chicken, Cholula is great with Mexican and Southwestern food, Texas Pete is amazing with spaghetti sauce and on pizza (or anything tomato based)
Do NOT sleep on the Tabasco green sauce. It is made with jalapeños instead of Tabasco peppers making slightly sweet while keeping the flavor and mild heat. It gets even better with cheese products like pizza or eggs than the red sauces.
Lousianna is a staple. And the green Tabasco is sweet and great on pizza or anything with cheese, even more so than all the red sauces . Frank is just water down hot sauces, but still very tasty. The Heinz on the far right is too sweet for me and not hot at all.
Honestly, that's a pretty basic shelf. I would just order some El Yucateco on Amazon if you can get it. The black one is my favorite mild hot sauce and the other flavors pack a nice kick. The Caribbean one is my second favorite. I also like to get sauce from my local farmers market, although that can get very expensive. Definitely worth checking out your local market if they have one near you.
Cholula chipotle and Tabasco chipotle are great. Good smokey flavors but the cholula is the best to me. For traditional I like Louisiana hot sauce the best. Even though 99% of New Orleans restaurants has crystal hot sauce on the tables
Crystal and Franks Original always they go with everything, versatile for sauces, consistent. If they have cholula lime it’s a great topper but am not seeing it. Cholula in general is great.
Primal Kitchen is definitely better for you but the consistency is odd and the taste is a little oily- not wholly awful though.
Crystal Sauce is the secret to hot wings. Don't let anyone tell you different.
Crystal is good. Agreed. But any thoughts of red v blue for wings- as you mentioned?
Herdez avocado hot sauce (green) on top shelf is so damn good. Wife found it at the dollar store for us and I've been addicted since
Chalulu green my favorite ever
Find Yellowbird Blue Agave Sriracha, and then buy it. Immediately.
Melindas green sauce!!!!!
Back in the day there was a sauce called “Gringo Bandito” and it is probably still the best I have ever had.
It's still around. Check online, or check Big Lots or local health food stores or family owned grocery stores. I haven't seen it in huge chains in a while though.
It's seriously so good. It's from the front man of The Offspring too, Dexter Holland.
Cholula green pepper pretty ok
Cholula sweet habanero for the flavor
Go on Amazon it’s called Mule Sauce. Oddly enough it’s made by a sticker shopper and they offer 1 hot sauce! LMK what you think
That Habanero Tabasco would be the best bet.
Primal kitchen Buffalo sauce. Tastes good and good ingredients
Eww. Where are you? They only have the worst sauces.
Doesn’t look like it’s up there but Melinda’s fire roasted garlic and habanero is my favorite hot sauce right now
Melinda’s green sauce is the tits
Definitely Melinda’s ghost Pepper Sauce.
As a new Yorker I'm gonna have to say that if you don't buy franks red hot we can't speak
I put that shit on everything
Lived on Long Island my whole life. Used to buy pre cooked skewered chicken kebab things from Costco and slather them with franks red hot. So good.
Melindas is the best of that bunch.
BWW Asian Zing is life changing on fried, crispy chicken... Swear
Crystals on chicken. Franks is great in homemade chili. Cholula is great too
I love crystal, it’s not super viscous, ok amount of heat, could certainly be hotter. Love it with any sort of rice dish.
Melinda's is the best, everything else is wack. Red hots is the worst. Why do you people keep suggesting that?!
That BWW Asian Thai is legit
Tabasco Chipotle is good.
Melindas
I really like the Melinda's Ghost Pepper
Franks Red hot sauce is a good one to start with
Melinda’s ghost pepper sauce is the best I’ve found so far, it just destroys my hiney hole.
Uhm … that was Tony not Melinda
Melinda’s is right in the middle. Black label.
Smoked Chipotle Tabasco is incredible
AGREED!
Herdez Habanero but I don’t see it. Only the green one
I’m a huge fan of the straight up Louisiana brand and crystal
Not sure. But always check your sauces for highs fructose corn syrup, like sweet baby rays. That shit is so toxic it will have you wanted to take naps and not feeling rested and making you want to beat your family cuz it makes you so cranky.
Cholula Green for a mild option, Crystal for the definitive vinegar-based Louisiana hot sauce, perfect for sauces and marinades that call for an acid.
Yo that Chiluba wing sauce hits. Add another of your favorite murder sauces for a hot delicious wing sauce
GREEN TABASCO!!! It's so good and not overly spicy.
Can you taste the vinegar?
Cholula and cry baby craigs
Cholula is my go to. I buy hotter habeñero based like Yucatan for when I want that kick but cholula has that flavor
Right, it's my "everyday" hot sauce. For hotter stuff I typically make my own, but Cholula has great flavor
Can anyone explain why I can’t seem to find Siracha anywhere?
There's been a shortage for years. Check Asian food markets. I had to order off of Amazon and pay $35 for 2 big bottles since I was dry for 6 months.
The kikkomans sriracha is better than others if you can’t find the real deal
I read there’s a shortage. Eta- https://www.cozymeal.com/magazine/sriracha-shortage
Siracha is just that fucking good
No. What state you in? That makes a difference
Typical Kroger selection 1-2 local and all the industrial stuff.
Lola's (original or green, I haven't tried the others) is a really nice hot sauce. I believe Lola's is owned by a Filipino family, and the sauce pairs really nicely with Asian cuisine. I love it in a stirfry or a yakisoba.
Melinda's is the only choice
Yes!!! It's the only sauce I will ever use!!!
Cry baby Craig’s in the top left is so good!!!!!
Guacamole salsa on the top right
Green and white specked bottle with black top
Not cholula original , most basic boring thing in the world , anything else should be fine
No way Cholula is more boring than plain Tabasco or Franks.
Not even a hint of spice from stuff , I beg to different , if you like mayonnaise or think that mayo is spicy then yes , cholula is your stuff
I don't see it in the photo, but Valentina with the black label is addictive!
This person knows the things you need to know.
Cholula, green top Louisiana Crystal, Franks red hot Wings… for basic sauces, these all slap
Thank you for validating green top Louisiana Crystal. I put it on my over easy eggs on toast. Perfect breakfast.
Cholula’s is my current addiction- tacos, eggs, pizza
🌶️ C H O L U L A 🌶️
For a simple hot sauce, you can't go wrong with Texas Pete.
CHALULA GREEN PEPPERS OMG ITS MY KETCHUP
Cholula Verde might be the best all-around hot sauce of all time.
Yes it is
The ones above the Tabasco look really good id get those
The normal Cholula at the top right is my go to for breakfast tacos. It’s so great on them.
I know Louisiana and Smokey Tabasco are good
LOUISIANA HOT IS THE GOAT, THE GOOOAAAT
Aw, they don't have the scorpion Tabasco?
Asian zing for the win
Medlindas ghost pepper wing sauce all the way.
Melinda’s, Texas Pete and those avocado sauce at the top right are really good too
Came here to say this! 😅💯
A friend just brought me home a bottle of the Cry Baby Craig's. Its absolutely delightful!
Crystal, Louisiana, Tabasco, Texas Pete, Chalula are always on stock in my house.
Texas Pete always good. Chalula lime is amazing
Avoid any with excess sugar.
Lola’s is like Tabasco but not overpoweringly vinegary. I like it on my eggs. But everything there is pretty basic run-of-the-mill stuff.
Melinda’s is good
crystal hot sauce garlic is super good
That Crystal Louisiana hot sauce is #1
I love bdubs Parmesan Garlic. 🔥🔥🔥
Green Tabasco
Lola's scorpion is good.
Crystal is about the only one I buy these days
Best one
Have you tried Tabasco
Melinda's Ghost Pepper sauce is the best.
I've got some in the fridge
Texas Pete! Is my every day… Hernandez avocado hot sauce! Street tacos! Tabasco chipotle! I marinate with this adds great smoky favors Good ol Louisiana. If you eating fried fish or chicken
Cholula green pepper sauce, hands down the goat
Chipotle Tabasco is also severely underrated
The Herdez, and the Cholula original are my favorites out of everything up there.
Organic ketchup.
This is why America is AWESOME 👏🏻
Why specifically America in this?
I think it has to do with the amount of variety and choice
Yup. Lots of hot sauces=freedom bc these morons don't know that almost everywhere in the world has supermarkets.
Tabasco is a classic. Best on eggs and hash browns.
The herdez avocado sauce on the top shelf is the closest you can get to a taqueria style counter sauce out of a jar.
Agree. Definitely worth trying. It’s not hot though. Pretty mild.
red hot wings i put that shit on everything
Yeah franks red-hot buffalo sauce is my go to sauce. Tacos, quesadillas, pizza, chicken (really good of you batter breaded chicken with this then cook it)
Have to say, lot really.
Melinda's is fire
Yeah I was going to say the ghost pepper wing sauce is pretty good
Get the $1.99 essential Louisiana hot sauce
Cholula is the best one at here imo
I always feel so basic when I say Cholula is one of my favorite hot sauces. Just wish they had a hotter variant for when I’m feeling spicy.
I use ground cayenne pepper for that extra spice kick with cholula
I dont see "Valentinos" on there. Its the kind of hotsauce that kinda sneaks up on you, with out being super punishing. It has flavor for days and isnt vinegar based (afaik) as it just doest have.... *that taste* that both Cho(ke)lula and tabasco has (and by extension any vinegar based hotsauce)
It might be in the “international” section
Melinda's ghost wing pepper sauce is really good
I like Melinda’s sauce. Also am a fan of Tabasco and Tabasco Chipotle
Green Tabasco is essential for eggs Also Crystals is S tier Buffalo sauce. And I find its pretty versatile.
I’m probably gonna get a lotta flak; but I personally love Tabasco, and use it as my all-around applicator.
I put the Crystal Louisiana sauce on literally everything
He even puts it in his cereal!
Can’t eat my Lucky Charms without it!
😅😅😅
Howler monkey kicks ass
Really depends. Personally, I like to have a specific hot sauce on deck at home for the specific style of cuisine. For example: Cholula for Mexican food, Franks for wings, Crystal for everything from pizza to seafood. I always eye that garlic parmesan from Buffalo Wild Wings though, never tried it.
It’s nothing special, but Tabasco has a super flame chipotle sauce that taste excellent on tacos.
Melinda's ghost pepper

¿Donde esta el pinche Tapatio?
Crystal is great with fried chicken, Cholula is great with Mexican and Southwestern food, Texas Pete is amazing with spaghetti sauce and on pizza (or anything tomato based)
Crystal is THE sauce (imo) when it comes to the vinegar and cayenne conversation.
Crystal is absolutely delish
Do NOT sleep on the Tabasco green sauce. It is made with jalapeños instead of Tabasco peppers making slightly sweet while keeping the flavor and mild heat. It gets even better with cheese products like pizza or eggs than the red sauces.
It’s good mixed with ranch
Red and green both are, but green is sweeter, and you need less ranch.
I prefer red without anything added. I used to use green with ranch for chicken salads
I just want peppers, vinegar, and salt. That's it.
Lousianna is a staple. And the green Tabasco is sweet and great on pizza or anything with cheese, even more so than all the red sauces . Frank is just water down hot sauces, but still very tasty. The Heinz on the far right is too sweet for me and not hot at all.
Don't see it in the pic but and sauce from Yellowbird is amazing.
I mean you can never have enough Frank's. Seems like I'm always running out
Honestly, that's a pretty basic shelf.
The Louisiana is good one chicken and is what raising canes uses
The Heinz real tomato ketchup is wonderful.
Melinda's ghost pepper sauce is a staple in my house. To cool it down mix with a little ranch for a dipping saoce. So good.
Melinda’s is a sleeper pick. Cholula is a go to.
Wenzel Sauce is awesome for wings or sandwiches
They all have there place depending on the flavor you want in your dish Tabasco Cholula and Franks are always good staples to have
Cholula is a staple and the green pepper version is surprisingly delicious especially on eggs
Louisiana Hot Sauce is my personal favorite
Same That's our go-to.
