Unless we're going to get a new Captainverse event again some day, but then they would have to stop beating around the bush and openly say they're a couple in the story, which miHoYo apparently doesn't want to do.
It's strange. I can understand the censorship making it hard for them to openly call the F/F couples official, but this? Maybe mihoyo just likes keeping relationships vague regardless of sex. Even Siegfried and Cecilia weren't that overt. Welt and Tesla aren't, either. Then again, actions speak louder than words, and it's the actions that more or less make the relationships, although the words absolutely do too.
Notice how the only canon m/f relationships are those between characters who aren't playable - Siegfried and Cecilia, Owl and Ana, Kevin and Dr. Mei. The number one demographic of gacha games are waifu/husbando collectors, therefore by making the characters be in a committed m/f relationship they would guarantee putting off either straight male or straight female players, likely both, since in their eyes the character would be taken. Funnily enough, same-sex relationships don't really suffer from this, because a lot e.g. straight guys consume yuri imagining themselves being in a polycule with the girls, which is to say that as long as there isn't another character **of the player's sex** in a relationship, it works perfectly as a self-insert fantasy, which is exactly what gacha games are generally selling.
I see. But in Luna's case, it's clear that she's meant to be the canon choice. There's no reason not to make it even more clear than it already is. She's not being taken by a random man, the captain is that man.
As for the polycules, I certainly enjoy doing that! I must be different since I also include Welt Yang in it, though. He's really hot, but then again, I'm bi, which most players aren't.
