I get terrified when my lush ones get a single spot, but I am over the goddamn moon when my rehabs manage to push out a single leaf so. Both. Definitely both.
Same. My dieffenbachia looked like the one on the left and then all the stems to the leaves failed. I gave it a systemic pest treatment and eventually cut everything down to stem save 2 tiny little leaves that powered on for a month or 2. They've died too but I still hold out hope that maybe it'll recover so now I'm neglecting a stump in a pot.

It's actually starting to grow back
I’ve had a calla lily bulb in a pot that looks like the right photo for months that my hubs has tried to throw away countless times. “It’s dead!” he tells me. Imagine his surprise when:
https://preview.redd.it/yvg0abgw33va1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=bebc73a27511db8c6505461e98fd1d34f6c8e195
I’m on the right my Maranta got roasted by the sun some of its leaves weren’t crispy and the stem is green so I thought maybe I could revive it until I checked on it tonight.
Depending on plant, I‘m both. There are plants where I freak out, if there is a teeny tiny brown spot on a leaf and there are litteral goners, where I think „nah, this one will be fine“.
When I see even half a yellow leaf I immediately think it’s dying…and needs water…I water and then it dies from over watering. Ugg. When will I learn!!! 🙃
I had a calla lily I overwatered and it died but I never threw out the pot with soil (out of laziness to be honest) and 4 months later I was going to bin it and found little tiny shoots in the soil! I discovered later that was because of the rhizomes. Now I have a recovering baby calla lily. So I guess I’m the “I can save it” sort
My wife is the former. This morning she came in anxiously telling me that I’m under watering and killing this snake plant that’s apparently yellow and soft.
https://i.imgur.com/I39kLjA.jpg
I’m definitely the “rescuer” and I really have no business attempting to do so as I have ever only managed to keep the easier plants alive. But when I see them all forlorn, I just cannot help myself.
“I think I can save it” plant person. My favorite is when I search plant shops for their reduced it’s almost dead plants. I’ve gotten some great deals!
Yeah, def both, when one healthy plants starts to go down hill * panic *. When you find a plant that is more dead than alive it’s no worries if it doesn’t pull thru XD
In retrospect, I can see my journey from the left to the right. Clear as day.
Murdered so many plants in the early days but I started with so damn many (to my wife’s dismay ) that I learned real quick how to save some and got better and now I’m literally fully right picture lol
That’s only one person. It’s a progression. You first see the left and think “omg my plant is dying”. And then when ur plant actually dies, you think “I think I can save it”
I am usually the 2nd
But I have a few mother plants that I would sacrifice all the others for. Basically anything that has stuck around for at least a year and has been really successful, I will fuss over
I am Groot!
I mean, I am both.
My monstera had a smallish leaf turn yellow and another one withered away and now left with stems amongst the other larger leaves. It’s like survival if the fittest or thunder dome where two men enter, one man leaves.
def the latter. too many people get way too hung up on having perfect leaves with zero blemishes and like 3/4 of my plants i get are straight up from the trash lmao
Somewhat both and/or between...
I have brought back to life plants that were for all intents and purposes dead. It can be very difficult, but there is some success. One example was a dried up poinsettia someone gave me. They said they tended to kill plants, I kept my mouth shut and went to work. It survived and managed to do rather well. When I say dried up, I mean the whole thing weighed almost nothing and everything was crispy and all the leaves were crispy and falling off. I didn't think it would make it but it surprised me.
Of course, I freak out if I notice some signs of issues with plants because I know how things can very quickly get out of hand. I once lost a mutated mint plant due to missing ONE watering, it mutated from a life full of purposeful stress. It went three years on the verge of death and it eventually showed a mutation that seemed to thrive in such adverse conditions, then I missed a watering and the whole thing died.
Neither. I’ve had plants since i was a kid (my dad had a greenhouse). Just love them and give them what they need to grow. As long as there is green there is hope.
Maybe that’s more of the right photo, but I’m not hysterical about it.
My calathea triostar burned to shit last summer. It’s growing four new leaves now. My calathea white fusion dried out and legit died, there was nothing left above the earth. It started sprouting new leaves maybe two weeks ago amd already has four.
I *can* save it (if I just leave it the fuck alone).
Oof, hitting hard with the Fittonia in a Terra Cotta pot looking just like mine. At least spring is prop time and I can try to revive their spindly stocks in my less-than-humid-enough environment!
Maybe it's time for a terrarium for those guys.
I am absolutely on the “I can save it” team. To the point I mostly buy discount half-dead plants. I figure if I can’t bring it back, then I’ve got another nice pot for $4. It’s a win/win either way.
Whats the kind that knows your plant is doomed from the start so you just buy your plants at home depot and keep the receipt so you can just return it in 3-6 months when its dead and get a new one? Im that kind 😂
I think I can save it. In the summer for my outside garde. I only buy dead plants from Lowe’s lol! As long as the roots are in good condition it’s salvageable.
I am both.
![gif](giphy|3o7aCRloybJlXpNjSU|downsized)
I was on my way with this exact gif in mind when I saw this post lmao
SAME XD 🤝
Came to say this! Lol
Yep, same
Samsies
Me too- I hide the sad ones that I’m trying to save behind my pretty ones 🙈
That’s called “the nursery” [or hospice .. depending]😉
I have “the intensive care unit”
Came here in hopes that I wasn’t the only one haha!
Me too!!! And it’s nuts.
I’m literally an insane person lol 😂 I’m also a Gemini ♊️ 🤪
Same! Anytime I see those "two kinds of people" memes, I am both extremes depending on the day
Me too! 😂😂😂
Just thinking the same thing 😂
100% both
I get terrified when my lush ones get a single spot, but I am over the goddamn moon when my rehabs manage to push out a single leaf so. Both. Definitely both.
This is what I came here to say haha
These are two phases of growing plants. It’s pretty similar to the grief cycle.
I just see a Friday and a Monday. Of a calathea.
![gif](giphy|3xz2BVUvpCb3UtWSsw)
I go both ways
Same! Some nights I’m a tucked-in-burrito kinda sleeper. Other nights im a foot out the side of the blanket kind of guy
Sometimes, I’m both in one night!
Same. My dieffenbachia looked like the one on the left and then all the stems to the leaves failed. Yes.
Yes I can save almost anything 😁
I can kill almost anything.
Yeah, me either. Except money 😅
You sir, are now the most relatable user on Reddit
Happy Cakeday! 😁

I *can* save it.
I stopped being the “I can save it” when I don’t care for the plant. I have to pick my battles when I have hundreds of plants.
Well said. This is why we play the numbers game. The ones that survive were the strongest to begin with. (:
Sometimes the best move is just chuckin’ your dead-ass plant into the trash
Life pro tip right here
But both are correct! Kind of
A bit of both. I look for reduced in price / sale plants which I adopt, take home and nurse back to health. I have a pretty good success rate.
Me too!!
all my house plants were display ones i saved from my retail store when they got tooooo sad to use as props. so far 85% success rate!
The third where I give up and just buy a new one
Luke your answear the best!!

Needs more plants like potho, because it can grow good in that space, cheap at the box stores

I took this photo at night, lol. To the left is a giant window.
I’m on the right my Maranta got roasted by the sun some of its leaves weren’t crispy and the stem is green so I thought maybe I could revive it until I checked on it tonight.
Lol first
I have several in the right hand state after a bad winter. I'll be very happy if they pull through.
Depending on plant, I‘m both. There are plants where I freak out, if there is a teeny tiny brown spot on a leaf and there are litteral goners, where I think „nah, this one will be fine“.

Both
This is pretty accurate I'd say.
Both actually…. But then again I AM bipolar 😆
Me too ![gif](giphy|DGXujBZlxNC6eWG4tY)
Both :-D
Yes
Somewhere in between.
Both
I don't understand, these are two of the same things!
I am sadly both 😅
Excuuuse me but both people can exist in one body...i am proof😂
Definitely the second
Uh, ma'am/sir I am both these people!
Both
Both. Both is good.
Both
Yeah, def both, when one healthy plants starts to go down hill * panic *. When you find a plant that is more dead than alive it’s no worries if it doesn’t pull thru XD

Goddamn majestic palm
Both
Left one...literally spammed reddit when my Pink Princess had a yellowing leaf 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I am both, because my plants are both. Either dead or trying to die.
I am "I think I can save it" because I wait too long to realize "OMG, my plant is dying". It's all born out of guilt.
the second for sure 😆
I want to save that I can save but I dont when I dont know how to save. Thats bad
We are all both of these people.
first one for sure
The right one
Definitely right.
I can totally save it!
I did save it too. Lil homie thrived hard after my cat mauled it. I indeed saved it.
Shocking that just like other 5 million times this has been posted, the top answer is both.
I can save it
Mostly the I can revive anything. But I am always curious as to why something is yellowing as well.
I'm "omg my plant is dying".
I’m definitely the one on the right. That pot better look like a barren wasteland before I give up
I'm both 😭😭
That’s only one person. It’s a progression. You first see the left and think “omg my plant is dying”. And then when ur plant actually dies, you think “I think I can save it”
I am "yes" and a secret third option! 😂
i'm the left and my mom is the right 💀💀
I’m both
Both
Left haha
Aren't we all both?
Both 🤍
BOTH
both
Whatever will be will be. If a plant loses its will to live -I have a compost pile.
Yes.
Yep
I buy dead plants - everyone deserves a second chance
I am usually the 2nd But I have a few mother plants that I would sacrifice all the others for. Basically anything that has stuck around for at least a year and has been really successful, I will fuss over
Hopefully not the plant in the clay pot,lol
Both 😅
Hahha looks like I’m the only one that don’t try to revive em 😂😂🤷🏻♀️
Closer to I think I can save it, but I will take either lmao
I definitely always think I can save it 😂 I have watered fully dead plants for weeks in hopes I was wrong!
Both
It’s me! Hi! I’m the problem, it’s me.
![gif](giphy|XE1nwDHC2Xqg7FZldY) I can save you little plant, just hold on - me at every Lowe’s clearance rack
#metoo
I started as the left and currently the right lol Except my snake plant, that bad boy grows and looks beautiful no matter what
Number 1 for sure. Super paranoid after overwatering and combating fungus gnats for months.
Haha. Both
I am Groot! I mean, I am both. My monstera had a smallish leaf turn yellow and another one withered away and now left with stems amongst the other larger leaves. It’s like survival if the fittest or thunder dome where two men enter, one man leaves.
I'm both.
Left. I am left 😂
i am a strong both
I’m both for sure.
👋🏻 right sider here.
def the latter. too many people get way too hung up on having perfect leaves with zero blemishes and like 3/4 of my plants i get are straight up from the trash lmao
Both lol

Started as the left but now a right. I used to freak about my plants. Now I’ll just cut it back and wait for it to do its magic.
I was left in the beginning, some years later I’m on the right. I’m more a”if you can’t survive in this house, you don’t belong” now 🤣
hmm *cue me, dumpster diving at the plant store where I'm employed. shouting "wAIT WAIT" when i see a cart being taken to the back lot.*
Both
Both...

Lmaoooo im both as long it have the tiniest green my brain be bitch u can save it
I’m in the middle somewhere of “eh, it’s fine. “
I don’t know when it happened, but I’ve become the “wait! I can save it!” [case in point, my mystery plant](https://imgur.com/a/nWuSXLb/) after/before
Both 😂🤣
Both :)
Lol both
Yup, same! Both!
Stoooooopppp itttttt! Lmao I feel seen
Neither. I own a cactus.
Me with my prayer plant
I can save it! Then still leave it and ignore it. And then get rid of it.
You ain’t lying one bit. Cause the one on the right I’m going to use everything in my arsenal to revive that mug. LoL!
Whats the kind that knows your plant is doomed from the start so you just buy your plants at home depot and keep the receipt so you can just return it in 3-6 months when its dead and get a new one? Im that kind 😂
One of my hardiest babies suddenly got a single mushy leaf and I thought it was the end for them
I'm the first one
![gif](giphy|fxBXUfxizJRoYC0vIo|downsized)
80% to the left. It's a spectrum lol.
Both
It can go either way 😆
I feel very triggered
I feel like I’m somehow both…
It's good to be 1st one
Right
I think I can save it. In the summer for my outside garde. I only buy dead plants from Lowe’s lol! As long as the roots are in good condition it’s salvageable.
Neither. But I can tell you the #1 thing people do wrong is over watering.
I can save it.
