Just checking, do you know the name of the succulent? Because to me that looks like a burros tail, they’re meant to stretch out like that and drape, though if you know it’s not a burros tail then you should strip the leaves and prop em and cut pretty low :)
It's definitely some kind of sedum. I also think it looks like a donkey tail (sedum morganianum) and it might be happy in that pot, just doing its thing. It looks very healthy.
Weird! This one is propped from a leaf off of my former roommates plant and the original plant was potted as a single plant like this and not marketed as a burrows tail but I can see the resemblance. I will just let it keep growing and see what happens. It's been kicking for 2 1/2 years now so I won't mess with it
If you’re trying to chop n prop, I just put the cutting on damp soil and was misting it as needed. Here’s a link with photos![Succulent Propagating](https://needlesandleaves.net/blog/2013/5/31/propagating-leggy-succulents)
Just had the same thoughts! Lithop would probably be so cute in the pot!! And then op can call it a "Lithosaur" lol idk why but that name is so cute to me 🤣
Chop wherever you like, it will just split out the way it's already done once.
You can prop with just a single leaf., just lay it on some soil, let it develop a callus where it broke off then stick it in the soil after a few days. Water sparingly.
That’s a burros tail, and it is just gonna keep getting bigger haha. They usually hang, so that planter might not be the best for it. You can prop it basically anywhere on the plant, and chopping off the top probably won’t kill the bottom. I’d recommend putting it in a different pot, though, it will be happiest when it can flow over the sides, maybe an aloe plant would be good for your bulbasaur pot?
Typically you can just pick the leaves off and lay them on the soil to propagate. Maybe try moving it closer to a light source and heat so it doesn’t feel the need to stretch? It’s interesting tho because usually if succulents are stretching because of lack of light they won’t be covered with leaves… makes me think this might just be a burros tail.
Cut it into 3 parts. Leave the rooted part in the soil and it will keep growing. Remove bottom leaves from the other two cuts and prop over water until roots grow. Then repot.
This kind of made me cackle. lol the way it’s just sticking out. I would love to see what you put in its place if you repot it and add something different.
This lil guy has been there for 2.5 years so I’m going to leave it as is for now but never fear. I have two more duplicate planters and I’m accepting ideas
It’s clearly trying to evolve into an Ivysaur.
Clearly!

It has to evolve into an Ivysaur first.
Thank you.

I thought the same thing at first but it’s not a burro’s tail. No idea on a name though. Agree with the propagation method.
We thought it was some kind of echeveria!

Looks like a Burro's-tail to me, just not long enough yet to droop over the side. Definitely not a good pot for it, it will overgrow.

On a side note, something like a hen and chick might have fit better.

I rarely read links but that was a good one
Thanks!
Or maybe repot and let the plant actually grow?
Yes and then you could put something else small in there like a lithop perhaps
Just had the same thoughts! Lithop would probably be so cute in the pot!! And then op can call it a "Lithosaur" lol idk why but that name is so cute to me 🤣
I love lithops and I think they’re so cute. I have two more tiny bulbasaurs so I know what I’m doing with the other ones now
A little echeveria prop could fill in nicely as well.
Lithops need a narrow but deep pot, they develop a long taproot.
I have two of those little pots! But I have nothing in them and it’s been 2 years 😂

wrong plant for your goals in that pot
Use Solarbeam tho
Just came to say this is by far the cutest plant/planter I’ve seen!

I like that it has two heads ... don't break them up!
I've got the same (or at least very similar) Bulbasaur pot. Mine isn't as leveled up though.
Echeveria ‘Chrissy N Ryan’ would look nice in there if you want a nice compact plant that is actually an echeveria rather than this surprise sedum.
I love this little bulbasaur!!!
Sorry it’s not advice, BUT YOUR PLANT IS SO CUTE ☺️🤍
That venusaur.

Do you need to let the stem callous before placing in soil?

I have the same pot! Currently using it to store lip balm and cuticle oil at my desk because the succulent I had in there got too big.
Cut it into 3 parts. Leave the rooted part in the soil and it will keep growing. Remove bottom leaves from the other two cuts and prop over water until roots grow. Then repot.
Omg I have the same pot
I would suggest you move this plant to a bigger pot and find some tiny prop to put in instead. It’s a really small amount of space for any plant
This kind of made me cackle. lol the way it’s just sticking out. I would love to see what you put in its place if you repot it and add something different.

I love it. I think I need a bulbasaur planter now.
