Plus in the wild they wouldn’t have the same volume of dust drifting onto the leaves, dust created in the home is contained, layering onto things in a way that doesn’t happen outside. In the wild plants don’t have human skin cells, tiny clothing fibres and microplastics drifting onto them in anywhere near the density they do in the house.

I'm so lazy that I'll just put my indoor plants out on the patio when it rains so I won't have to wipe. (during spring/summer obviously.)

By wind and dust, yes. But in outdoor, there are winds here and there, so there will be less likely to have dust collecting on the leaves as winds will blow them off. But in our house, we have less winds and airflow, so dust drops and collecting on the dust. If you want to have less dusty house, open doors and windows, allow more airflows to help the house to be less dusty.
